Here's What's Inside The $217K Gift Bag For Oscar Nominees This Year
As the 2025 Oscars roll into view, it's time to consider the real prize. No, not the statue — I'm talking about the gift bags.
There is no "official" Oscars gift bag — but LA marketing company Distinctive Assets does have its lavish "Everyone Wins Nominee Gift Bag" that's given to nominees for acting and directing. They gave BuzzFeed the lowdown of what's in this year's gift (and yes, Karla Sofía Gascón will be offered hers).
The majority of the 60+ items are worth under $1,000, so let's start there. There's everything from snacks to skincare, and even a small seat for your handbag so it needn't touch the ground (BAGCEIT).
Within this category, there's a lot of "wellness" products — such as a red light sleep therapy device "Helight" ($139) and membership in Function Health's 100+ lab tests ($499). There's also a number of cannabis/THC products, such as $160 of product from Beboe, which is referred to as the 'Hermès of Marijuana."
But let's be honest, we're here for the incredibly expensive stuff. Coming in at $23,549 is a "Four-night stay at two award-winning luxury resorts in the Maldives" from JOALI.
Also within travel, there's "a five-night luxury wellness retreat offering personalized spa treatments, gourmet wellness cuisine and breathtaking views of the serene Sri Lankan hills" courtesy of Santani worth $8,500. If that's not your thing, then Cotton House Hotel is offering a stay at their five-star property in Barcelona worth $5,200.

FYI, a nominee has never taken all the trips offered — apparently the most anyone has accepted is one.
One of the more eyebrow-raising products is $25,000 at ArtLipo, which translates to possible liposuction of your arms and legs. Neat!

Then there's $25,000 in the form of a "live show from Dr. Carl Christman, mentalist to the stars." Ancestry is also offering a gift of the same value via an "ancestry professional genealogist for a VIP Family History Experience, offering in-depth research into their family's past."

The most expensive item on the list is $50,000 at Maison Construction. They're "offering nominees complimentary project management services to assist with the rebuilding process, along with a 50% discount on construction services. Each celebrity gift can be redeemed for themselves or they can direct the opportunity to support fire victims." A fascinating social experiment there!

On the note of the California wildfires, disaster recovery company Bright Harbor is "offering nominees and media $1M worth [total] of personalized disaster recovery support to give to over 300 families who are affected by the LA fires." Undershirt company Bored Rebel is also gifting an "LA Strong" version of their shirt.

The Director of ‘Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning' Unpacks Key Moments
Christopher McQuarrie was a 27-year-old former movie-theater security guard when he won the Oscar for best screenplay in 1996 for 'The Usual Suspects.' Things went a little pear-shaped from that early peak, as they tend to do in Hollywood, and the Princeton, N.J., native was looking to leave the industry altogether when he piqued Tom Cruise's interest for another script that became the 2008 Hitler-assassination drama 'Valkyrie.' It was the start of a professional relationship that has culminated in McQuarrie, now 56, directing and co-producing the past four films of the 'Mission Impossible' franchise, including 'Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning,' in which Cruise famously stars as the unsinkable (and seemingly unkillable) special agent Ethan Hunt. Recently, McQuarrie spoke with The Times in New York and later via video call from the back of an SUV in Mexico City about the choice to make A.I. the villain, the question of whether the franchise is coming to an end, and a 'gnarly' secret Tom Cruise movie in the works. Here are edited excerpts from those conversations. When did the decision come that 'Dead Reckoning' and 'Final Reckoning' would be the final two films in the franchise? Over the course of 'Rogue Nation' [2015], 'Fallout' [2018] and then 'Dead Reckoning' [2023], we were delving deeper and deeper into the emotions of the characters and their arcs. I said, 'Look, we know that it's going to be a long movie, let's just cut it in half.' I understand the irony of me saying we were going to make two two-hour movies and we ended up making these two much, much bigger ones. But we didn't really think of it as being the conclusion of anything until we were about halfway through 'Dead Reckoning.' Over time, we started to feel that this is a movie about the franchise more than just about the mission. Want all of The Times? Subscribe.

Miley Cyrus and Boyfriend Maxx Morando Take Couple Coordinating to a Whole New Level with Matching Hairstyles
Miley Cyrus and boyfriend Maxx Morando went out for a glamorous date night in New York City on June 5 While the couple didn't coordinate their ensembles, they did have matching hairstyles Cyrus and Morando have been dating since 2021Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend, Maxx Morando, are hair twins. The "Flowers" singer, 32, was spotted having a fashionable night out with her musician boyfriend, 26, in New York City, on Thursday, June 5. The couple was spotted leaving the Four Seasons Hotel after Cyrus' private event, then they set off for the rest of their evening. For their date night, Cyrus wore a brown satin, fitted cone bra dress with black criss-cross lace details down the front of the dress, as well as the hips. The hem of the dress featured a long fringe that swayed as the singer walked. Morando kept his look classic for the evening, wearing an all black suit consisting of a jacket, matching shirt and black pants. For a casual touch, the musician kept a couple of buttons loose to expose a white crew neck undershirt. Though their outfits were distinct, the couple matched when it came to the way they styled their hair. Cyrus styled her brunette hair with blonde highlights in carefree curls that cascaded down her back. She also styled her now grown out baby bangs into curls that were flipped away from her face, and folded in seamlessly into the rest of her hair. Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Morando, meanwhile, kept his overgrown mullet and bangs styled as he normally does — he let his natural curls pop, with a few pieces laying less than perfectly for a chic touch. Cyrus' curls paired with Morando's curls led to a matching hair moment that recalled the likes of David and Victoria Beckham's twinning hair styles in the 2000s, or Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt in the '90s. Cyrus and Morando's last major matching hair moment came in March, when the couple walked the red carpet at the 97th annual Oscars on March 2. is now available in the Apple App Store! Download it now for the most binge-worthy celeb content, exclusive video clips, astrology updates and more! For the glamorous red carpet date night, Cyrus wore a custom Alexander McQueen black halter dress with sequined and sheer elements. Though Cyrus would debut baby bangs later that night, she started off the evening with old Hollywood-inspired curls. Morando similarly kept his mullet styled in his natural curls, though his were wispier and highlighted with blonde — a near-direct match to Cyrus's blonde highlights for the evening.
