The Cardinals' nine-game winning streak had ended after the Philadelphia Phillies scored late. Even though they lost, the team stayed positive and nearly came back.

'We're feeling like a team that is playing well, and as they say, winning fixes everything. The vibes have been high, and the guys have been like, 'Why not start another [winning streak] right now?' It's fun to be in the division race and chasing people down.'
Fedde adds:
'This is kind of what we believed this team could be, It's one thing to believe something, and another to go out and do it. We're playing competitively and we're in the chase in the division. Nobody wants to be 10 games out and feel like [a division crown] is a long way away. This is how we want to play -- overall, it's been just good clean baseball, and that's all you can ask for.'

'We had a lot of games left, and they've got to stay locked in and not down, When guys do that for me when I have tough outings, that makes you feel better and makes it [easier] to move on. I have no problem picking them up, because they pick me up sometimes, too.'

MCC introduces major boundary rule change: What is it and how does it affect the sport?
In October 2026, the ICC and MCC will introduce a new catching rule in cricket, disallowing 'bunny-hop' catches where fielders jump from outside the boundary to touch the ball. Fielders can still push the ball from within the boundary, step out, and dive back in to complete a catch. The International Cricket Council (ICC) and Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) are implementing a new catching rule in cricket from October 2026 that will prohibit the 'bunny-hop' catches where fielders jump and touch the ball while being outside the boundary. The rule change will still allow catches where fielders push the ball from within the boundary, step out, and dive back to complete the catch, but any contact with the ball from outside the boundary will require the fielder to land inside the field of play for the catch to count. The MCC has developed this rule change in response to concerns about catches that appear unfair to cricket audiences. This rule change aims to eliminate controversial boundary catches while maintaining the possibility of spectacular fielding efforts that begin within the field of play. The new regulations provide clear guidelines for both players and officials regarding boundary catches.

Sourav Ganguly Slams Shreyas Iyer's Omission From India's Test Squad

The Indian men's cricket team will face England in a five-match Test series, which is set to start on June 20 in Leeds. Although Test cricket's different, I would have had him in this series to see what he can do," Ganguly told RevSportz. Iyer, who scored a century for India on his Test debut against New Zealand in Kanpur (November 2021), last played a red-ball match for Team India in Visakhapatnam last year. He was dropped from the side due to form. After losing his place in the Test team, Iyer impressed with his batting performances in white-ball cricket.
