
Dubai Concludes 13th Edition of United Arab Society of Radiology Societies Conference
The 13th Conference of the United Arab Society of Radiology Societies and the 9th Annual Meeting of the Emirates Radiology Society recently concluded in Dubai, focusing on the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in radiology, particularly in stroke and breast cancer treatment.
Held under the theme "What Matters, Radiology in Emergencies," the three-day conference featured 69 lectures, 16 scientific sessions, five workshops, and numerous discussions, highlighting the latest advancements in radiology and imaging.
Dr. Taleb Al Mansoori, President of the Conference and Head of the Emirates Division of Radiology, emphasized that AI is accelerating diagnoses and improving treatment precision, particularly in time-sensitive medical situations.
AI's application in UAE hospitals is helping to save critical time for both patients and doctors, enabling faster, more accurate diagnoses and treatment plans. It empowers medical professionals to independently analyze medical images, enhancing decision-making and reducing the risk of errors.
Dr. Osama Al Bastaki, Consultant and Head of the Radiology Department at Rashid Hospital, noted that AI is now integral to 75% of radiology processes, streamlining disease detection, especially for strokes and breast cancer. AI's ability to analyze vast data sets has proven invaluable in early breast cancer screening and other critical health checks, as part of the UAE's national health programs.
These innovations mark significant progress in improving healthcare delivery, with AI playing a key role in enhancing diagnostic accuracy, optimizing treatment outcomes, and ultimately benefiting patient care across the nation.
