Jake Paul's next three fights clear after calling out five rivals
Jake Paul outpointed Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in California on Saturday night before setting his sights on even bigger names for his next fight
Jake Paul wants a rematch with Tommy Fury before taking on Anthony Joshua next year - but the YouTuber could face Gervonta Davis next.
Paul outpointed Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in California on Saturday night to extend his record to 12-1 and move a step closer to a world title shot. The YouTuber called out five fighters in his post-fight interview, including cruiserweight world champions Gilberto Ramirez and Badou Jack, but his business partner later made his targets clear.
"I want tougher fighters. I want to be world champion. Zurdo looked slow as s*** tonight. That'd be easy work, too," said Paul. 'Badou Jack. I want everybody. Anthony Joshua, Gervonta. And Tommy, stop running. I'm hustling, getting warmed up. You've already seen my face, get used to seeing it more." Asked when he wants to return, he added: "As soon as possible. I'm staying active, I'm fighting everybody."
Paul's partner Nakisa Bidarian later confirmed Paul will target a rematch with Fury having lost to the Brit in 2023. "If it's not for the title, then it's looking at Tommy, if he's reasonable, then Anthony Joshua. He's adamant he wants to make that fight happen at the end of 2026 and we're going to meet with Matchroom when we're in New York for the greatest trilogy in the history of boxing, Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor 3."
But according to Eddie Hearn, Paul has already agreed an exhibition bout with lightweight world champion Davis, assuming he comes through his rematch with Lamont Roach. Asked about a potential fight between Paul and Joshua, Hearn said: "We know that Gervonta [Davis] is going to fight Jake Paul in November. Then, we'll see what happens. It'll be interesting to go from Gervonta Davis to Anthony Joshua."
Paul was never in trouble against Chavez Jr but was unable to stop an opponent whose only fight in the last four years had been against former UFC star Uriah Hall. But Paul was nevertheless delighted with his performance.
"It was flawless," he said. "I think I only got hit ten times. Really he just survived and I thought I did great, going 10 rounds against a former world champion who has never been stopped. He's in there with Canelo, all of these guys, and I embarrassed him like that. Easy work."

Boxing icon Butterbean sends fight offer to Jake Paul after shedding over 200lbs
Butterbean has sent a direct message to Jake Paul, telling the YouTube star that he is "coming for him" following his unanimous decision victory over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr Butterbean has threatened to come out of retirement as he issued a bold challenge to Jake Paul, following his body transformation. The ex-boxer, whose real name is Eric Esch, hasn't fought since his 2013 defeat to Kirk Lawton. However, the 58-year-old insists he is ready to return, but for one fight only. In an Instagram video promoting Lucky Energy, the former heavyweight champion claims that Paul "runs his damn mouth too much" and mocks him for only being able to fight "retired bald men" - which is a likely dig at his controversial win over Mike Tyson. The video showcases Butterbean's collaboration with the energy drink company and his 'Knockout Punch' flavour. In the skit, a Paul lookalike responds to the challenge before getting hit by a wheelchair, thrown by Butterbean's fake promoter, Mr Lucky. This new callout comes after Problem Child's recent improvement to a 12-1 record, following a unanimous decision victory over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr on Saturday night. Although Paul made several callouts post-fight, he did not respond to a match with Butterbean. Despite the likely comedic intent behind Butterbean's challenge as part of an advert, it isn't the first time the ex-boxer has tried to square off with Paul in the ring. Before the highly anticipated bout between Tyson and Paul in November 2024, Butterbean revealed he was prepared to step into the ring with the 28-year-old if necessary. In a TikTok video posted just before the fight, the former heavyweight champ said: "Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, I am going to be at the fight to challenge the winner of the fight, Yeah. Mike, if you fall out again, I'll be there to take your place." Butterbean first expressed his desire to take on the Problem Child back in March 2022 when Paul had an undefeated record of 5-0, having beaten the likes of Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, and Nate Robinson. Discussing his impressive weight loss and return to training after retirement, Butterbean said: "I'm working with DDP (Diamond Dallas Page) to get up walking and running around again and I'm feeling the best shape I ever have. "I'm at fight weight. You'll have to listen to my podcast coming up to find exactly how much weight I have lost, but I haven't weighed this in over 20 years so that'll give you an idea. "The big announcement is I'm gonna fight one last fight. It's gonna be one year from now. Jake Paul, if you're ready, I'm here for you my friend. Let's get it on, me and you Jake Paul. I bet it would be an awesome fight. After you said what you said about me in the magazine, I'm ready to fight you. Are you ready? I don't think so." There have been many more callouts since then, but the duo have not yet met to discuss the terms of what could be a sensational showdown in the sport. However, Butterbean's recent jibe at the young fighter might just be the catalyst needed to bring them together in the ring for possibly the most unusual fight to date.

Conor McGregor deletes reaction to Ilia Topuria's KO over Charles Oliveira
The former dual-weight champion was eager to offer his verdict following Topuria's explosive win against Charles Oliveira on Saturday night Conor McGregor was quick to praise Ilia Topuria after his sensational victory over Charles Oliveira at UFC 317 on Saturday night. It took just over two minutes for 'El Matador' to become the new lightweight champion of the world. From the off, the pair were willing to meet in the middle and trade leather before Topuria detonated a right hand that stopped the Brazilian. Following the breathtaking win in Las Vegas, the 28-year-old extended his perfect record to 17-0. He also joined names like McGregor in the list of fighters who have won a title in two different weight classes. Itching for at least one more fight this year, Topuria was quick to call Paddy Pimblett out. Both exchanged verbal blows before 'El Matador' shoved the Liverpudlian. With a fight potentially on the card, many were quick to offer their verdict. McGregor, who watched the event closely, soon publicly shared his thoughts on the aftermath of the bout. In a since-deleted X - formerly Twitter - post, he said: "Congrats on winning my old titles, Ilia!" - referring to his past double-champion status in 2016. "He said he gonna rest his b**** on Paddy's head too hahah fair play. Good [lightweight] scrap that one is as well [in my opinion]. UFC is back? Or still missing something..? [Three] KO back-to-back is very good. No one can deny the knockout. I like [Topuria] Unlucky to Charles also. Styles make fights! You are a tremendous and legendary UFC fighter. Rest up." McGregor seems to have had a change of heart regarding Topuria after their heated exchange last October. The Irish fighter lashed out at Topuria during a Duelbits-sponsored stream, with Topuria responding that the 'Notorious' is not significant enough to consider for a bout at the moment. Topuria even extended an open invite to McGregor, suggesting the Irishman join him for training. In conversation with Ariel Helwani, he said: "He's a fake fighter. He fakes all the time that he's going to fight. Fighters fight every me, he's retired, I don't even want to talk about a guy that's retired. I feel never going to happen, never. How? I'm the world champion and he's not even in the rankings. But, we can do something if he wants. For my next training camp for my next fight, I invite him with Dan Hooker and we can do two and a half minute [sessions]...I'll change them every round, we can do that... Official fight? That's impossible. And right now at this point, I have much bigger fights than Conor McGregor. Conor McChicken." It appears that Topuria has his sights set on a bout with Pimblett following their altercation on Saturday night. The bad blood between the two has been simmering since 2022 after an incident in a London hotel prior to a UFC event. Following the encounter, Pimblett sent a warning to his long-time rival ahead of a potential title fight and revealed how he would stop him. "You don't even need to sell that fight – it sells itself," Pimblett said of a possible matchup with Topuria on ESPN's UFC 317 post-fight show. "Two people who genuinely dislike each other. We don't really get that. "We haven't seen that since Khabib (Nurmagomedov) and (Conor) McGregor, two people who actually hate each other. Because I hate him," Pimblett continued. "I wouldn't want to finish him fast, I would want to finish him with a minute left in the fight after I've elbow him 700 times. I'd want to disfigure him."
