Gabby is due to take over from Gary Lineker as one of the hosts of Match of the Day and recently vowed that it 'won't be totally different'.
She will team up with Mark Chapman and Kelly Cates to host the BBC 's flagship football show from the start of the next season, with Gary stepping down from the role after 26 years in the chair.
They are set to split presenting duties for Match of the Day and Match of the Day 2 between the three of them when they begin their new role upon Gary's departure.
Although fans are set to see plenty of switches in the hosting chair from week to week, Gabby has urged that changes to the iconic highlights show will not be seismic.
'Nobody wants to throw the baby out with the bath water. It's a football highlights show, we've got the same kind of pundits… and it's all about the football,' the presenter told the ainslie + ainslie Performance People podcast.
Gabby, whose appointment was announced by the BBC in January, revealed that she and her fellow co-hosts went to great lengths to keep the news a secret ahead of their unveiling.
The trio created a secret WhatsApp group to discuss all things Match of the Day and strike a closer bond ahead of the big reveal - and even deleted messages to make sure the news stayed between them.
'I didn't even tell my mum,' Gabby added, having only told her husband and former Scotland rugby star Kenny.

England football coach Anita Asante put on a chic display in a navy jumpsuit
'I set up a group chat and called it "The Match of the Day three" and there were disappearing messages as Chappers was really paranoid about this. The only person I told was Kenny!'
It is understood BBC executives, headed by new director of sport Alex Kay-Jelski, are eager to move the show in a fresh direction with the appointment of the three new hosts.
Having a rotating cast and two female presenters on Match of the Day is a huge change for the show after over a quarter of a century with Lineker in the hotseat.
Gabby applauded the fact that broadcasting is a 'completely different landscape' for women working in sport, both in front of and behind the camera.
'There are now so many great male and female broadcasters,' she added.
'But also, so many more females working in sports, not just in front of the camera or the microphone, but also behind the scenes.

Joining presenter Jordan North on Capital Breakfast this week, the Dance Moms star said: "You know what's interesting? As hectic as life is, and as much as that noise goes on, I feel like Christopher and I discovered this beautiful house together. "And this house is earthquake proof, and it's fireproof, and bulletproof. "And you know, we discovered this house and found the keys, and we took the keys and locked ourselves in, and now it's like... You know what I mean? I feel like that with myself, I feel like that with him." Jordan then quizzed JoJo on whether she had found her 'happy place' with Chris. The US star gushed: "Oh my god, absolutely! We're having the best time. He's just the best! "I was saying this to my parents the other day. Like, I'm decently nice; he makes me look like I'm mean! "And I'm like known for being nice, that's the thing. People say to me, 'Oh, you're so nice'. "He makes me we want to be nicer, because he's such a nice human. He's the best egg in the batch! I could never get tired of speaking highly of him, he's just the best." Chris Hughes breaks silence on JoJo Siwa relationship and he's quizzed by Ben Shepherd on This Morning During their trip to the countryside to meet Chris's parents last week, the couple couldn't keep their hands off each other as the Love Island hunk was pictured kissing JoJo on the neck. Yesterday JoJo said she is "shocked" at how close the pair have them have become in such a short amount of time. Speaking to Billboard, JoJo said: "It blows my mind that 30 days ago I would never have even imagined that I would be friends with Chris Hughes, that's the weirdest thing, much less be one of the closest people too me now in my life who I would die for. "I think its a combination of the shared experience but also in Big Brother, you have no phone, no outside communication, no distraction, nothing. "You only have each other. I love connecting and I love people and when someone comes into your life and you enjoy it, you can tell." LOVED-UP TRIP JoJo's interview comes fresh from a cosy weekend she spent with Chris and his family in the Cotswolds. The YouTuber shared their time together on social media, which included a series of loved-up snaps with the Love Island hunk. In one of the snaps, Chris could be seen picking his girlfriend up and carrying her, whilst in another they held hands. JoJo described holding her boyfriend's hand as "the one thing that can make everything better". She also shared pictures of the pair enjoying breakfast and cups of tea as she relaxed at Chris' family home. MISSING HER MAN JoJo, who fell for Chris in the Celebrity Big Brother house, said she struggled to go back to normal life without Chris when she returned to the US for a month. But now the American star, who hails from Nebraska, plans to spend more time in the UK. The couple also spent time together when JoJo was in England for her tour. The happy couple drove fans wild with an intimate backstage moment in a post to TikTok when the pair were seen hugging each other, holding hands and putting bracelets on each other. 4 JoJo spent a cosy weekend with Chris and his family in the Cotswold's at the weekend Credit: Instagram/Chris Hughes

Premier League lift little-known broadcasting blackout in major boost for football fans
PREMIER LEAGUE chiefs have axed a little-known broadcasting rule ahead of next season. There have been restrictions in place to stop youth-team matches being shown at the same time as senior top-flight games. 1 But that blackout has reportedly been lifted for the 2025/26 campaign. Under-21 games in the Premier League 2 can now be live streamed even if they clash with fixtures on Sky Sports or TNT Sports. Official club channels are ready to "take the lead" in showing the action. But there are rumours of a TV deal in the coming years should viewing figures be significant. The rule change is a major boost for football fans up and down the country - especially Manchester United supporters. Viewers have long complained about MUTV not showing enough youth-team fixtures live. Just 14 of 35 Under-21 games were shown last season and just eight of those were Premier League 2 clashes. Sir Jim Ratcliffe 's brutal job cuts. Premier League fans are set to deal with another year of the 3pm blackout, which prevents games being broadcast live at that time to protect attendances Though reports suggest the measure could be axed when the current TV deal expires at the end of the 2028/29 season.

Rory McIlroy's attitude concerns me ahead of U.S. Open bid, admits Paul McGinley
McIlroy is looking to claim his second Major win of the year at Oakmont having already won the Masters at Augusta in April, however he has had his fair share of struggles in recent weeks. The World No.2 was outraged that his name was leaked after failing a driver compliance test at the US PGA Championship last month, refusing to talk to the media in the aftermath, and he missed the cut at the Canadian Open last week after struggling off the tee in a second round 78. As well as that, McIlroy has admitted to suffering from a lack of motivation in the aftermath of the monumental effort it took to complete the Career Grand Slam, his Masters victory meaning he has now won all four Major titles. As a result, along with the resurgence of World No.1 and US PGA champion Scottie Scheffler, the 35-year-old has fallen down the list of favourites to win this week in Pennsylvania and, after his Tuesday media briefing, McGinley shared his concerns. 'You'd have to say it was very worrying looking at his press conference there. His eyes weren't alive. The energy was not there,' said the Irishman on Sky Sports. 'He certainly didn't have the pointy elbows the way we saw coming into the Masters. (At the Masters) he was a man on a mission, he was a man on a bounce, he was a man out to prove something. 'Get out of my way, here I come.' You could see that and feel the energy. 'You don't see it at the moment. I know from my own experience, when you win tournaments, you check out. You don't feel the same. You want to be there and you put in the energy but something inside you is just missing. 'It takes some time for that to reset and I think he's going through a period of that. He's completed a Grand Slam – it's a huge achievement. 'I'm no psychologist but it looks like the air has been sucked out of him a little since that, not just in the way he's played but in his press conferences. It's very un-Rory-like to have such low energy. This is not normal Rory. 'This is not when he's at his best in my opinion. I think he's at his best when he's p****d off or following off a big loss or something that went wrong.'
