Man detained after car collides with pedestrians during Liverpool title parade
Emergency services descended on Water Street after Merseyside Police were contacted just after 6pm on Monday with reports of the incident.
The car stopped at the scene and a man was detained.

The Prime Minister and the Home Secretary are being kept updated about the events, the PA news agency understands.
People were injured in the incident, with images capturing someone being taken away on a stretcher and a man walking with his arm around a police officer for support.
Footage showed police cordons in place around the heavily littered road, with a large police presence, ambulances and a fire engine also at the scene.
A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said: 'We are currently assessing the situation and working with other members of the emergency services.
'Our priority is to ensure people receive the medical help they need as quickly as possible.'
Liverpool Riverside MP Kim Johnson, whose seat includes the city centre, said: 'I sincerely hope all those involved are safe and get home to their loved ones soon.'
A spokesman for Liverpool City Council confirmed the local authority was liaising with police about the incident.

Liverpool held an open-top bus parade to celebrate their Premier League triumph, with fans lining the streets along the 10-mile route.
Councillor John Hughes estimated in excess of one million people were attending, beating the 750,000 present for the 2019 Champions League parade.
Hundreds ignored police advice not to climb on structures – or adhere to the 'no pyro' request – as every vantage point, ranging from multi-storey car parks, scaffolding, rooftops, on top of petrol stations, traffic lights and lampposts, was taken.

Tony Hudgell's birth mother still ‘high risk to children', adoptive parent says
In 2018, Jody Simpson – along with Tony's birth father Anthony Smith – were sentenced to 10 years in prison after being convicted of assaulting, ill-treating or neglecting their child. Tony's injuries were so severe, his legs had to be amputated. Simpson was originally released in 2023, before being recalled to prison in May 2024 having broken the conditions of her licence. On Thursday, Tony's adopted mother Paula Hudgell told Nick Ferrari on LBC breakfast that Simpson had 'already proved' she could not be managed in the community. Ms Hudgell said: 'To be honest I expected it, I sat through and observed the parole hearing which obviously I can't discuss, but I realised then that she will be released. 'They feel that they can manage her in the community, even though she is still a high risk to children. 'She's already proved once that she can't be managed in the community by breaking her licence conditions.' Tony and his adopted parents successfully campaigned for 'Tony's Law', which has changed the maximum sentences judges can pass down for child abuse offences. In light of the imminent release, they are calling for a register whereby authorities can keep tabs on people who commit offences against children. Ms Hudgell told LBC that Simpson had shown 'no remorse' and that her son Tony – who is now 10 – has his own views on what should have happened to them. 'His views, originally were that they should have had the electric chair,' she said. A spokesperson for The Ministry of Justice said: 'This was a horrific crime that saw Tony Hudgell mercilessly tortured by his birth parents and our thoughts remain with him and his loved ones. 'Now that the independent Parole Board has directed her release, Jody Simpson will be subject to strict supervision and licence conditions. Trial date set for three men charged over fires at Keir Starmer properties
Ukrainian national Roman Lavrynovych, 21, and Romanian national Stanislav Carpiuc, 26, appeared together at the Old Bailey on Friday. Ukrainian national Petro Pochynok, 34, refused to attend the hearing. Two of the fires took place in Kentish Town, north London – one in the early hours of May 12 at the home where Sir Keir lived before he became Prime Minister and moved into Downing Street. The other fire was on May 11 at the front door of a house converted into flats in Islington. Lavrynovych, of Lewisham, south-east London, has been charged with three counts of arson with intent to endanger life on May 8, May 11 and May 12. Carpiuc, from Romford, east London, and Pochynok, of Islington, north London, are each accused of one count of conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life between April 17 and May 13. Lavrynovych and Carpiuc appeared at the hearing via videolink from HMP Belmarsh, and spoke only to confirm their identities and dates of birth via an interpreter. Ms Justice Cheema Grubb told the court that Pochynok had refused to leave his cell for the preliminary hearing. All three defendants were remanded in custody to next appear for a plea and trial preparation hearing at the same court on October 17. A provisional trial date was set for April 27 next year in front of a High Court judge. A fourth person, a 48-year-old man, was arrested by police at Stansted Airport on Monday on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life in connection with the incidents.
