SDAIA Highlights Saudi Arabia's Digital Transformation at Expo 2025 Japan

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has highlighted the Kingdom's experience in digital transformation and smart city development at Expo 2025 Osaka, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
SDAIA has also reviewed Saudi Arabia's national efforts to adopt data and artificial intelligence technologies, boost service efficiency and achieve sustainable development.
In this regard, Deputy Director of the National Information Center at SDAIA Dr. Mishari Almishari emphasized that the Kingdom is making bold strides toward a fully integrated digital society.
In line with Saudi Vision 2030, the Kingdom seeks to position digital transformation as a key pillar of national development.
Almishari also noted that the launch of SDAIA in 2019 marked a pivotal shift as the authority has been leading this transformation through three centers, as follows: (NIC) National Information Center
(NCAI) National Center for Artificial Intelligence
(NDMO) National Data Management Office
Promisingly, such efforts have strengthened the Kingdom's position as a pioneer among data- and AI-driven economies.
As for smart cities, Almishari also stressed SDAIA's central role in supporting smart city systems through various initiatives such as the National Smart C Platform and the Smart Riyadh Operations Center.
Furthermore, the authority has exerted great efforts in fostering innovation in ecosystem via training camps, incubators, accelerators, and national hackathons.
SDAIA's participation in Expo 2025 Osaka stands as a testament to the Kingdom's dedication to acquiring a prestigious position as a global leader in developing AI solutions and in building a smarter, more inclusive digital future.

Hong Kong's financial markets raised nearly HKD 76 billion ($9.7 billion) through initial public offerings year to date, representing nearly 90% of the total funds raised in 2024. Chan also indicated that the launch of the first Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) for government sukuk is a major milestone in this direction, stressing that Hong Kong can become a global hub for Islamic finance, thanks to a flexible regulatory environment and advanced financial services. Hong Kong continues to rely on openness and competitiveness in global supply chains, Chan said. He confirmed that the linked exchange rate system between the Hong Kong dollar and the US dollar will remain unchanged, noting that the city provided stability and confidence for more than four decades, with no intention to change it despite international economic challenges.

Saudi Gazette report KUALA LUMPUR — The Saudi Ministry of Investment showcased its vast investment opportunities during its participation in the Economic Forum of ASEAN, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and China. A delegation from the Saudi public and private sectors took part in the forum, which was held alongside the ASEAN–GCC Summit and the ASEAN–GCC–China Summit, hosted by the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur from May 27 to 29. The participation is part of the ministry's ongoing efforts to maintain a strong presence at major international events to showcase the Kingdom's investment environment and its developments across various economic sectors. It also aimed to highlight Saudi Arabia's investment opportunities and strategic initiatives under the Saudi Vision 2030. On the forum's first day, the ministry organized a special session titled "Enhancing ASEAN-GCC-China Investments" as part of its efforts to develop the investment climate and build strategic partnerships. Saudi Deputy Minister of Investment for International Relations Sara Al-Sayed addressed the session. The ministry presented several initiatives during the session.

Kingdom's higher education gaining global prominence

WASHINGTON: Taaref bin Yusuf Al-Aama, president of King Abdulaziz University, said that Saudi higher education is gaining prominence around the world. 'Higher education in the Kingdom is experiencing a qualitative renaissance and gaining a prominent position within the global academic landscape,' he said. 'This success is attributed to the unwavering support of the Kingdom's wise leadership and the strategic vision led by the Ministry of Education in line with the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030.' In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency during the university's participation in the NAFSA 2025 International Education Expo in San Diego, US, Al-Aama said: 'Saudi universities, including King Abdulaziz University, have made substantial progress in education, research and innovation.' He also highlighted achievements in pioneering research and patents. This helps build a robust knowledge economy, he said. Through the expo, the university seeks to exchange expertise with international universities and promote its advanced academic programs, Al-Aama added. Higher education institutions in the Kingdom now offer study programs that operate in line with top international standards, he said.
