Netanyahu says report false on 'Trump rejecting Israel move to kill top Iranian leader'

Washington/Tel Aviv, June 16 (UNI) US President Donald Trump had reportedly rejected Israel's move to kill Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, though Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rebuked the statement, calling it a false report. The IDF operation, which was called a 'pre-emptive attack' on Iranian nuclear infrastructure by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, resulted in the deaths of several members of the Islamic regime's top brass, including IRGC commander General Hossein Salami, and Iranian Army COAS General Mohammad Bagheri, deliberately left out Khamenei. According to Politico, despite Trump's own hostility towards the Iranian leader, he was still willing to bring him to the negotiating table to reach a deal, which was both practical and mutually agreeable, and end the deadly Israel-Iran conflict through diplomacy. He had also issued an ultimatum to Khamanei after the Israeli strikes, writing on his social media platform Truth Social on Friday 'Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left, and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire.' However, Netanyahu has rebuked the report, calling it a false news. 'There are so many false reports of conversations that never happened, and I'm not going to get into that,' he told Fox News on Sunday. 'But I can tell you, I think that we do what we need to do, we'll do what we need to do, and I think the United States knows what's good for the United States.' Simultaneously, the Israeli PM did not deny that a regime change was a part of its goal, in Tel Aviv's war with Tehran. 'It could certainly be the result, because the Iran regime is very weak. I think it's basically left with two things, its plans to have atomic bombs and ballistic missiles.' Yechiel Leiter, Israel's ambassador to the United States, also refused to rule out going after Khamenei on Sunday. 'I think it's fair to say that nobody who's threatening the destruction of Israel should be off the target list,' Leiter told ABC. 'But we're not going to discuss specific individuals, you know, online. 'The idea is to neutralise and terminate the Iranian intention of destroying Israel through nuclear weapons and through ballistic missiles. And anybody who gets in the way of that, or is actually advancing that cause of destroying Israel, is obviously somebody we're going to have to deal with.' UNI ANV PRS

Iran hangs ‘Mossad agent' amid intensifying conflict with Israel

Iran's judiciary said Monday it hanged a man arrested in 2023 and convicted of being a spy for Israel's Mossad intelligence agency, as fighting raged between the two foes. 'Esmaeil Fekri, a Mossad agent convicted of the capital offences of 'corruption on Earth' and 'moharebeh' (waging war against God) was hanged after going through the full process of criminalw procedure,' the judiciary's Mizan Online news website said. Mizan said the execution was carried out after all legal procedures were completed and the verdict was upheld by the supreme court. On Sunday, Iranian media reported that police in Alborz province, west of Tehran, had arrested two people suspected of links to Mossad. Later on the same day, Israel said it had arrested two citizens suspected of working for Iran's intelligence services. After decades of enmity and a prolonged shadow war, Israel on Friday launched a surprise attack it says is targeting Iran's nuclear and military facilities. So far it has killed at least 224 people in the Islamic republic, including top military commanders, nuclear scientists and civilians. Iran has retaliated with barrages of drone and missiles that have killed at least 24 people in Israel, according to the latest figures from the prime minister's office. Iran does not recognise Israel and has long accused it of carrying out sabotage operations against its nuclear facilities, as well as assassinating its scientists.

KTR appears before ACB in Formula E race case

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president and former Minister K.T. Rama Rao on Monday appeared before the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in the Formula E race case. Rama Rao reached the ACB office in Banjara Hills amid tight security for the second round of questioning in the case. Police made elaborate security arrangements around the ACB office to prevent any gathering of BRS workers. Speaking to the media before leaving for the ACB office, the BRS leader said he would not be scared even if he had to go to jail again. KTR, as Rama Rao is popularly known, said cases registered against him and the harassment in the name of notices would not deter him from questioning the Congress government. The former minister stated that he respects the law and judiciary and that truth will ultimately prevail. 'They have so far summoned me thrice. Even if they call me 30 times, I will appear,' he said. KTR slammed Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, saying he drew sadistic pleasure by making BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and former Minister T. Harish Rao appear before the Kaleshwaram Commission. 'Today, I have been summoned. They may arrest me. I went to jail in the past for the sake of Telangana. I am not scared if I have to go to jail once again. Not once, I am ready to go to jail 100 times,' he said. KTR said the Chief Minister has no courage to touch KCR's army of lakhs of cadres. He reiterated that the Chief Minister should come forward to undergo a lie detector test. 'We both have ACB cases against us. I am ready for a lie-detector test, are you ready?' he asked. Claiming that the Formula-E race boosted the image of Telangana, he alleged that the actions of the Revanth Reddy government were maligning the state. The BRS leader earlier visited the party headquarters, Telangana Bhavan, where a large number of party workers gathered to show solidarity with him. The ACB had earlier given notice to KTR to appear on May 28. The BRS leader, however, informed the agency that as he planned to leave for a foreign tour, he would appear before them after he returned. The former minister had appeared before the ACB on January 9 in the case relating to the conduct of the Formula E race in Hyderabad in January 2023, when the BRS was in power. The ACB in December last year booked a case against KTR, former Special Chief Secretary to the government, Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) department, Arvind Kumar and former Chief Engineer of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) B.L.N. Reddy for alleged Rs 54.88 crore irregularities in the Formula-E deal. The FIR was registered on a complaint by the Principal Secretary to the government, MA&UD department, M. Dana Kishore, who stated that foreign remittances were made without prior approvals of the relevant regulatory authorities, which resulted in an additional tax burden to HMDA to the tune of Rs 8.06 crore. The complainant also alleged that the payment was made while the Model Code of Conduct was in effect for the elections to the State Legislative Assembly without any prior approval of the Election Commission of India. The FIR was registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act as well as under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 409 (criminal breach of trust) and 120B (criminal conspiracy).
