Pheobe Bishop's aunt reveals the desperate texts she received weeks before the teenager disappeared - as she shares troubling new details about her life
Pheobe Bishop's maternal aunt has shared the series of disturbing texts she received before the teen vanished without a trace, leading her to believe she 'won't be found alive'.
Caz Johnson appeared on The Project on Wednesday night to speak the missing 17-year-old and her tumultuous upbringing.
Pheobe was last seen on May 15 leaving the rundown share house she shared with housemates James Wood and Tanika Bromley in Gin Gin, near Bundaberg.
The pair have since been charged with unrelated weapons offences.
No charges have been laid over Pheobe's disappearance and Daily Mail Australia does not suggest Mr Wood and Ms Bromley were involved in her disappearance.
On April 26, Pheobe texted her aunt out of the blue to say her mother Kylie Johnson had told her to 'get out' after she asked to live with her father.
'Up s**t creek but s**t happens,' Pheobe wrote.
'I'm flying the f**k out of here to see my boyfriend.
'If it goes to plan I'm not coming back. I can't do s**t anymore.
'I need to get out of this hell hole.'
The Project host Waleed Aly asked the aunt whether the messages initially raised any red flags.
'I was more puzzled at the start then when the conversation got more into it, it was like something's really happening,' Ms Johnson said.
'Because Kylie would never stop talking to her kids or kick her kids out.
'Then all of a sudden, she (Pheobe) had to get out. She had no one to talk to, turn to.'
Ms Johnson also admitted that she was estranged from her sister Kylie.
She described her niece Pheobe as a 'loudmouth' who 'has to have things her way'.
'Pheobe, she was always moving from Queensland to NSW and backwards and forwards,' the aunt said.
'She was always changing schools. She had so many different stepdads in and out of her life. She never had no one that she could really speak to.
'They grew up in filth. I have no disrespect for anyone because I grew up in housing commission, but they lived like a typical housing commission family.'
Aly fasked Ms Johnson the question on most Australians' minds: 'Do you think police are going to find Pheobe?'
'Honestly, I don't know, but I'm certain she won't be found alive,' Ms Johnson said.
'It's sad to say, but I'm just being honest.
'They wouldn't call it a homicide if it wasn't to do with foul play or something else.'
Pheobe's housemates told detectives they drove her to Bundaberg Airport for an 8.30am flight to Brisbane and then on to Perth, where she planned to meet up with her boyfriend.
They claimed to have dropped the teen off at the airport in Bromley's 2011 silver Hyundai ix35 hatchback, but no CCTV of her at the airport has been found.
Police launched an intense search for Pheobe in a nearby bushland area, scouring it for several days with cadaver dogs - but on Wednesday, cops confirmed they had suspended the search.
'The search at the Good Night Scrub National Park has been suspended... Investigations are ongoing and police are continuing to run out several lines of inquiry,' a police spokesperson said.
'In addition to investigative work, physical searches will continue as needed and as information is provided.
'The greater Gin Gin area remains the focus of the investigation.'
Forensic experts have since poured over the Hyundai and the home in Gin Gin with both declared as crime scenes.
Wood was charged with unrelated weapons offences on Wednesday, one day after Bromley was bailed on similar charges.
Wood has been charged with one count each of unlawful possession of weapons Category D/H/R (short firearm) and authority to possess explosives.
Police will allege a shortened firearm and ammunition was located in a Hyundai ix35 and a Gin Gin house at the centre of the search for Pheobe.
Wood was given a notice to appear to appear in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on June 13.
Wood's partner Tanika Bromley has also been charged with unrelated alleged offences over weapons located in the car.
She arrived at Gin Gin police station for a check-in as part of her bail conditions for her firearms charges on Wednesday.
Hooded Bromley entered the station through a back entrance, with two police officers appearing to assist her in getting in and out of the station.

Missing girl's mum 'ripped apart' as body found in search for missing teenager
Police searching for 17-year-old Pheobe Bishop, who went missing after failing to check-in for a flight at Bundaberg Regional Airport in Queensland, have said they have discovered a body A mum of a missing 17-year-old girl has told how she is 'ripped apart' after police said they had found a body. Pheobe Bishop disappeared after failing to check in for her flight at Bundaberg Regional Airport in Queensland on Thursday May 15 at 8.30am which raised concerns for her welfare and sparked a major police search. The search for the teenager gripped the nation and on Thursday her housemates James and Tanika Bromley were arrested and charged with one count of murder and two counts each of interfering with a corpse. And yesterday a body was found close to the Good Night Scrub National Park, near Gin Gin, in Queensland. State police said: " The remains are yet to be formally identified; however, investigators are in contact with the family of missing 17-year-old Pheobe Bishop." And now Pheobe's distraught mum Kylie Johnson has written on Facebook how the news was 'ripping me apart'. She said: 'I didn't think my heart could break anymore then it did when you went missing, or when the charges where laid but this! This is ripping me apart…' The update from police on the discovery of the body also stated: 'The brief search commenced after further enquires and investigations today, with the discovery being made by specialist units around 2:30pm. "The remains are yet to be formally identified; however, investigators are in contact with the family of missing 17-year-old Pheobe Bishop. A crime scene has been declared at the location and forensic examinations are continuing.' And it also made an appeal to the public over a car. 'Police continue to appeal for any information in relation to Pheobe Bishop or the movement of a grey Hyundai IX35 between May 15 to 18 in the greater Gin Gin area. Investigations continue,' it stated. Detectives believe that Pheobe was in a car with her housemates when it arrived close to Bundaberg Airport on May 15 but that she never boarded a flight to Western Australia to reunite with her boyfriend. Pheobe's mum earlier today wrote on social media that a candlelit vigil would be held for her daughter on Sunday, June 8. She said: "This is for our amazing community! Honestly we have received calls, txts and so many messages of support. "Like most Rural families we are resilient, proud and strong but this has brought us to our knees like no drought ever could. This vigil is a way of our family acknowledging Pheobe's impact on our Community, their efforts and the importance of a community that cares! "For those reasons this is an important part of a communities healing. While we don't have Phee Home to put to rest just yet, our community needs the healing process to start."

Andrew O'Keefe cuts a colourful figure as he steps out for a cigarette in Bondi...after the disgraced former Seven star was ordered to enter rehab
Disgraced former Channel Seven star Andrew O'Keefe cut a very eye-catching figure in Sydney this week. The former Deal or No Deal host, 53, was spotted out and about in Bondi on Friday. Not wanting to hide his sartorial light under a bushel, O'Keefe put on a very colourful display in a multicoloured animal print jacket. He matched the quirky garment with a pair of bone-coloured chinos as well as a pair of sky blue sneakers that he wore over ruby red socks. Keeping the theme going, O'Keefe finished his ensemble with a pair of lime green-framed sunglasses. He accessorised with a beige crossbody bag. As he perched outside a unit block on the suburban street to smoke a cigarette, Andrew appeared completely engrossed in his phone. O'Keefe has waged a public battle against drug addiction and been in and out of rehabilitation centres for the past few years. He faced Waverley Local Court in February to plead guilty to driving with meth in his system but escaped with a $440 fine and a disqualification from driving for six months. The former Deal or No Deal host tested positive to meth while driving his Mercedes C200 in Sydney's eastern suburbs on July 28 last year. O'Keefe appeared relaxed and refreshed after three months overseas in rehab and chatted happily with lawyers and police while waiting to have his matter heard. His solicitor Jahan Kalantar told the court his client accepted he had a poor traffic record and had spent a substantial period of time struggling with his illicit drug abuse. Mr Kalantar said O'Keefe had taken serious steps to address his drug problems and produced evidence he had spent three months as an in-patient at a rehab facility. The disgraced ex-TV star pleaded guilty in October to trespassing, breaching an an apprehended violence order and meth possession. Shortly before O'Keefe was pulled over on July 28, he had confronted a man at a Point Piper property he was banned from attending. He faced Waverley Local Court in February to plead guilty to driving with meth in his system but escaped with a $440 fine and a disqualification from driving for six months Magistrate Michael Barko read a letter of apology O'Keefe wrote to the court, which he accepted as being 'sincere and genuine'. 'I can assure you the next step is jail. I'm not just saying that, I absolutely mean it,' he told the disgraced Seven star. O'Keefe was released on bail after appearing in Waverley Local Court but was arrested again at Rose Bay police station in September when police found meth in his car during a search. Two days earlier, O'Keefe had overdosed on heroin at a party and needed to be revived by paramedics. Elisha Dalah, 38, performed CPR to save O'Keefe after supplying him with the heroin that led to the overdose at his Vaucluse home in Sydney's eastern suburbs on September 14 last year. Dalah's millionaire father, Michael, who is a former co-owner of Elizabeth Bay Marina, has spoken out after harrowing details of the incident emerged. The Sydney socialite cleaned vomit from the disgraced TV star's nose and mouth, and gave him Narcan, a drug which counteracts the effects of heroin before O'Keefe was taken to St Vincent's Hospital. Magistrate Milledge previously told O'Keefe that his life had 'just completely gone off the rails' and it was his responsibility to fix it Dalah pleaded guilty to supplying heroin and was ordered to undertake a rehabilitation program. Meanwhile, O'Keefe was fined $1,500 and handed a 30-month community corrections order which required him to attend rehab. Magistrate Milledge said his life had 'just completely gone off the rails' and it was his responsibility to fix it. 'I know domestic violence is a factor in your offending and that is awful, truly awful,' she said. 'You got into the grip of something awful and the wheels fell off.' He was found guilty in January last year of domestic violence and drug offences after a 'degrading' attack on a woman who cannot be identified. The drug conviction was later quashed but O'Keefe lost an appeal against the assault convictions in August. He has an annual income of more than $300,000 despite not having appeared on television for more than four years. The former presenter of The Chase Australia and Weekend Sunrise is paid $26,000 a month 'through insurance', according to court documents obtained by Daily Mail Australia. O'Keefe spends about $17,000 of that sum on tax and supporting his two youngest children, leaving him with approximately $9,000 a month or $2,250 a week. It is not known what the insurance payments are for but they equate to $312,000 - or $108,000 once deductions are made - a year. O'Keefe's income, which is still dwarfed by the millions of dollars he made from television, was outlined in a statement of facts tendered in Sydney's Waverley Local Court on Friday. His contract with the Seven Network was not renewed at the end of 2020 amid concerns over his erratic behaviour and domestic violence charges. 'Seven is obviously very concerned to read the reports regarding Andrew O'Keefe,' a spokesman said in February 2021. 'Seven has had a 17-year relationship with Andrew across a number of programs, although he is no longer with the network.'

AFL umpire is caught out telling a stunning lie about his mother after dodging court AGAIN for allegedly masterminding $8.7million scam
Proceedings in the Supreme Court of Victoria have escalated against former AFL umpire Troy Pannell, who faces serious allegations of civil fraud totalling $8.7million. The court was again forced to issue an arrest warrant after Pannell failed to appear for a scheduled hearing on Friday, marking his second absence in relation to the case brought by his former employer, SeaRoad Shipping. Justice Andrew Watson, presiding over the matter, noted with concern the repeat non-appearance and authorised the warrant late Friday. That same evening, Pannell was involved in a serious single-vehicle crash in western Victoria, reportedly colliding with a tree. He remains in Melbourne's Alfred Hospital after undergoing emergency surgery. Police had been monitoring Pannell's movements amid suspicions he had been in South Australia, potentially to avoid court proceedings, and there are fears he may attempt to flee overseas. Pannell stands accused of orchestrating a prolonged scheme involving a company called Independent Container Surveyors & Assessors (ICSA). SeaRoad Shipping alleges the entity was used to generate thousands of fake invoices for container repair services that were never provided between 2015 and 2024. Court documents tendered state Pannell had sole authority over the approval of purchase orders, and used this position to process fraudulent payments to ICSA. In evidence tendered to the court, SeaRoad's legal team referred to numerous emails and financial documents suggesting Pannell was under financial pressure in the months leading up to the revelations. These included an email sent to his wife, Lynise Woodgate, in October 2023, with the subject line 'Love U,' in which he apologised, stating: 'I'm so sorry for everything… I would not feel the way I do today.' Further documents tendered showed Pannell and Ms Woodgate applied to extend their $100,000 home loan with Westpac in January 2024, submitting a breakdown of living expenses and personal financial details. Among the documents were statements relating to their family home, purchased in 2016 for $810,000 with an estimated $600,000 still owed, and an investment property in St Kilda generating rental income. It is not suggested that Ms Woodgate was involved in any of the alleged fraudulent conduct. In statements to investigators, she said the pair are now estranged and that she had no knowledge of the transactions under investigation. In a bizarre twist, court documents tendered reveal that Pannell previously told SeaRoad that his mother had passed away. However, ABC Investigations confirmed that Mrs Pannell answered the phone at her Werribee home this week, very much alive. Previous excuses provided by Pannell for failing to attend court have included striking a kangaroo with his vehicle. An email sent to court staff on May 9, just 35 minutes after a scheduled appearance, claimed the collision had damaged his windscreen and indicator, and he was awaiting roadside assistance. Police are now liaising with federal agencies, and SeaRoad's legal counsel, Mr Jonathan B. Davis KC, has called for Pannell to be added to the Australian Federal Police watchlist. 'Instead of going interstate, Mr Pannell could be in Bogota,' Mr Davis told the court. Emails found on a work-issued laptop also revealed that Mr Pannell had been preparing to sell two café businesses: Duck Duck Goose and Larder in Kyneton, and Common Galaxia in Seddon. A sales brochure prepared by Paramount Business Brokers was submitted to the court as part of the evidence. Pannell, who officiated 219 AFL matches between 2005 and 2018, previously served as president of the AFL Umpires' Association. The court adjourned the matter pending Pannell's medical recovery and execution of the arrest warrant. Further proceedings will determine the extent of civil liability and whether criminal charges may follow.
