New York Post24-04-2025

A sicko 'serial cat killer' has been busted in California after being caught on video, according to cops.
Alejandro Acosta Oliveros, 45, was arrested Wednesday by Santa Ana police as the department shared footage of a hooded suspect snatching a cat between two cars.
The arrest followed 'multiple disturbing reports involving the suspected abuse and killing of cats,' cops said, without elaborating on exactly how many pets were involved
Alejandro Acosta Oliveros, 45, was booked on animal cruelty charges.

Oliveros was 'positively identified by several victims and witnesses' — and officers charged him after finding evidence of the crimes at his home, the department said, without detailing what was found.
Neighbors in the Orange County area had been posting to local social media sites about the missing cats for weeks.
'We saw our cameras, and this guy just grabbed a neighborhood cat, seemed like he tied his legs up and took him around 5 p.m.,' read one post on Nextdoor, according to KTLA.
Another post said: 'My neighbor's cat was killed by a man who injected it with some sort of substance.'
In one disturbing case in neighboring Westminster, the killer was caught on camera snatching Clubber, a 10-month-old Bengal Lynx cat, from outside a home on March 21, according to KTLA.
Surveillance footage showed a man at the end of Corlew's driveway attempting to lure the kitten, possibly with food, Westminster police said. He then picked up the cat and fled in a white pickup truck.
Cops said days later they received a tip that Clubber was at a home in Santa Ana and returned the cat, unharmed, to his owners.
Oliveros was booked at the Santa Ana Jail on felony animal cruelty charges.

Federal agents conducting immigration raid in Los Angeles County; protest quickly erupts

Video above: Live feed of the scene of ICE activity in Paramount. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement conducted a raid in Paramount on Saturday morning, a day after federal agents raided several locations across Los Angeles. Large groups of protesters quickly assembled near the sites of the raids on both Friday and Saturday. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department confirmed to KTLA just before 11:30 a.m. Saturday that federal officials were conducting enforcement activity in the 6400 block of Alondra Boulevard but explicitly stated they were not in the area to help with their enforcement. '[Deputies] are only there to provide traffic control and general public safety, but they are not assisting the federal authorities at the location,' an LASD spokesperson said. United States Attorney Bill Essayli confirmed on social media that federal law enforcement operations are 'proceeding as planned this weekend in Los Angeles County' and advised that anyone who tries to interfere with their enforcement will be arrested and prosecuted. Footage from the scene taken by KTLA shows both protesters and federal agents throwing smoke bombs as the masked agents formed a skirmish line late Saturday morning. This is a developing story. Attempted murder arrests after boy, 15, stabbed

Three teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 15-year-old boy was stabbed in a country park. The boy was found injured on Margaret Terrace in New Herrington, Sunderland at about 18:10 BST on Friday, Northumbria Police said. He was taken to hospital for treatment and his injuries were described as not life-threatening. Two boys, aged 16, and one girl, 15, are being questioned in police custody. Ch Supt Nicola Walker said the force believed the boy was stabbed in Herrington Country Park. She appealed for witnesses to come forward. "We know this is a high footfall area, and it's likely there were lots of people in and around the park the time of the incident," she said.
