Brad Pitt "didn't sleep for 36 hours" after driving a 2023 McLaren F1 car

Top Gear catches up with the biggest names from the year's biggest movie Skip 10 photos in the image carousel and continue reading
It's rare that one of the year's biggest films falls squarely into Top Gear's wheel-house. But make no mistake, F1: The Movie is big – an ultra widescreen, IMAX-grade entertainment as precision-tooled and gleaming a star vehicle as the Ferrari SF-25 driven by Lewis Hamilton.
He, of course, is one of the film's executive producers, an advisor and guarantor of authenticity, having first been approached by the director, Joe Kosinski, when Lewis's proposed appearance in his previous film, Top Gun: Maverick , was scuppered by the day job. Kosinski, a Porsche 911 obsessive and motorsport fan, became immersed in F1 via Netflix hit Drive To Survive , when the world was becalmed during Covid. He figured an F1 film would be a fun follow-up to the billion dollar-grossing Top Gun sequel.

Legendary film producer Jerry Bruckheimer, the man behind Days of Thunder , Armageddon , and Pirates of the Caribbean amongst countless other films and television programmes (and computer games, he knows which way the world is turning), is also a racing fan. Together, they pitched to F1's owners, Liberty Media, led by the whip-smart and commercially savvy former Ferrari team principal, Stefano Domenicali. Warner Bros is distributing the film. Finally, no less a player than Apple Studios has bankrolled the project to the tune of a rumoured $300m (a figure Bruckheimer denies but it's in that ball-park), enhancing the tech giant's reputation for prestige television and cinema.
You could call it a no-brainer, but the stakes are sky high. Not to mention the fact that the world of motor racing hasn't always been well-served by cinema. What could possibly go wrong, apart from everything? You might like
These are the bones of the deal: factor in Brad Pitt, playing a world-weary but still fast former F1 prodigy urged back into top-flight motor racing, hot new British acting talent Damson Idris as his team-mate, the brilliant Javier Bardem as the beleaguered owner of fictional F1 team Apex GP, and Academy Award nominee Kerry Condon as the squad's technical director, and all the bases are covered.
As Kosinski tells TopGear.com, he had to wait for the technology to arrive that would enable him to tell the story he wanted to tell, the way he knew it needed to be told. With that, plus the buy-in from Formula One and the teams, he could advance an idea that was first deployed by John Frankenheimer in 1966's classic Grand Prix , which is to say, immerse the audience fully in the racing.

As we know, the production inserted itself into the 2023 F1 season, shooting extensively at Silverstone, Hungary, Monza and Abu Dhabi. This is a piece of movie-making sleight of hand without parallel in cinematic history. And while a Hollywood narrative unfolds in parallel – it's a bit 'on-the-nose' at times, necessarily so – it's worth bearing in mind what you're actually watching. Two actors, one of whom is arguably the most famous film star in the world, driving for real in pretty serious racing cars (specially converted F2 cars, in fact). The recent Hollywood writer's strike didn't have many upsides, but Pitt confirmed to TG that it meant more wheel time for him and his co-star as they prepped for the movie. More, but still not enough, it turns out.
We caught up with him, as well as Idris, Kosinski, Bruckheimer and Condon, ahead of the film's release. Have a watch below, and then get yourself to the nearest IMAX cinema this weekend…

‘It looks depressing' people say as a woman shows off her ‘Temu house' filled with bling décor & Chanel-themed interior
WHILE some prefer a more minimalist approach, others like to go all out - we all have our preferences when it comes to interior design. And it seems that one woman, only known as Mia, belongs in the latter category, with her home bedazzled from top to bottom. 2 Mia, thought to be from Greece, recently took to TikTok to proudly show off her bling home - but it seems that her sparkly aesthetic is not everyone's cup of tea. The young woman, who said she was ''not rich but not poor'', had clearly gone out with the eye-catching interior. The overall theme in the property appeared to be silver and black, with bedazzled vases, a few glittery Chanel placemats on a pristine clean dining table and more. The open living room area also consisted of a huge L-shaped sofa that was covered with half a dozen black cushions with silver elements, as well as grey artwork on the white walls. As Mia slowly made his way to the second part of the room, she showed the 2.2million viewers her epic Chanel-themed lamp, with a bedazzled clock in the background. The white drawers on the side also came with blinding placements with the iconic Chanel logo printed on them. Since being posted online, where Mia shares content under the username @ _sundaysbby, the clip has racked up more than a whopping 1,500 comments, 134klikes, as well as close to 6k shares. Stunned, thousands flooded to share their thoughts, as many dubbed the flash aesthetic their ''worst nightmare''. One critic thought the home looked ''so depressing'', whilst another dubbed Mia ''Temu final boss''. A viewer said: ''id go crazy in that house that's literally sooo aliexpress.'' I'm an interior designer & 12 'rookie errors' are making your home look cheap - avoid Mrs Hinch grey for starters '' Temu house,'' a TikToker chuckled. Luckily for the young woman, there were also plenty of those who loved the interior - and hit back at the vicious trolls. One person said: ''Okay but why is people judging her house and decorating like what next time don't comment. Her parents probably works hard for all this and they maybe like it?'' Another agreed, writing: ''Why are most of these comments hating? ''She's just showing her home proud of where she comes from not everything has to be luxury to be expensive y'all really judging someone for how their house looks? Be serious.'' Dunelm's top interior design trends for 2025 Maximalism Maximalism is about unleashing your creativity and bringing joy to everything around you, day in and day out. Bold pattern combinations of florals, checks and geometrics set the tone with a bright joyous colour palette that holds everything together. Don't mistake Maximalism for having loads of stuff, it's about mixing and matching florals, layering key pieces and storytelling throughout your home, and ultimately doing things your own way. Dunelm's new collaboration with Sophie Robinson is all about that. Minimaluxe The interiors world has witnessed the evolution of "minimalism" into a richer, more luxurious iteration. The goal is quiet luxury - simplicity with a sense of sophistication. Minimaluxe focuses on creating spaces that are pared down yet warm, elegant, and inviting. Gloriously tactile textures, in a palette of warm neutrals, with hints of caramel and gold, complete the look. Introducing softer forms and round edges to avoid a space feeling overly stark The Edit Built on the philosophy that having fewer thoughtfully designed and well-made things helps us leave a lighter imprint on the earth. Interior design is shifting to be inspired by the natural world, and all its perfect imperfections. Take Dunelm's The Edited Life collection, it focuses on natural materials like wicker, jute and linens - as well as décor pieces and hand-thrown pottery vessels that feature forms dictated by the artisan's mark. Soft relaxed fabric textures mixed with uneven wood grains help bring this neutral, look together. New Nouveau Blending 19th century inspired maximalism with a contemporary colour palette this collection takes inspiration from the ornamental art form from the Nouveau era. Rich and luxurious, blending a little bit of history with a more modern aesthetic you can mix and layer into your home. Stylised Lily motifs adorn sumptuous textiles and wallpapers mixed with marbling & stained glass vintage style lighting for a vintage inspired look, with a modern twist. Trends interior designers hate If you want to ensure that your home looks stunning, here are the trends that interior designers can't stand. NO YELLOW: According to Bilal Rehman, yellow paint in a bedroom is a big no no. He said: 'If you want everyone to know you're a horse girl then yellow is perfect for you.' SIGN OFF: Kelly Hoppen shared her honest thoughts on Live, Love, Laugh signs. The interior pro explained: 'Another gripe of mine - Live, Laugh, Love - those kinds of wooden things that sit on book shelves and floating shelves, that's so 10, 12, 15 years ago.' She stressed: 'We took a good thing and we overdid it to the point that it now feels copy, paste, basic.'

Jeremy Clarkson brings back beloved part of Clarkson's Farm after u-turn
JEREMY Clarkson looks set to bring back a beloved part of Clarkson's Farm. The TV star has teased fans on Instagram that one of the farm's first additions will be back amid a show u-turn. 4 4 4 Jeremy, 65, has revealed that his original £40,000 Lamborghini Trattori R8 270 DCR tractor is back in business - just weeks after getting rid of his new flashy motor. The former Top Gear host's original tractor was a staple of the Prime Video show before he decided to cast it aside in favour of a new £85,000 green Lamborghini tractor. However, earlier this month it was confirmed that he had sold the tractor at an auction with it reportedly being dogged by numerous electrical problems. Now, Jezza has seemingly confirmed the return of his original £40k motor in a new Instagram video. The Diddly Squat farm shop account shared a clip of the vehicle on Instagram in which it could be seen wired up with a number of GoPro cameras - likely being used to film scenes for upcoming series' of Clarkson's Farm. They added the caption: "Looks who's taking the Lambo for a spin." It signals a welcome return for the original vehicle with die-hard fans of the programme going wild over the confirmation that it was never sold off. One fan said of the tractor swaps: "The new Lambo was cool, but I'm glad he sold it and kept the original." Before another wrote: "He's still got ol'faithful?! "Is the new Lambo really that bad?" Jeremy Clarkson flogs his giant £85k Lamborghini tractor just weeks after buying it Jeremy was seen testing tractors last month on an epsode of Amazon Prime's Clarkson's Farm. Farm manager Kaleb Cooper, 26, was gobsmacked at the size of the Lambo he chose. An engineer who saw Jeremy, Kaleb and a film crew at the auction sale in Sutton, near Ely, Cambs, earlier this month, said: 'He was right next to his huge tractor. 'It was great to see him. I'm a fan. 'I watched every Top Gear with my dad and watch the Clarkson's Farm with my son.' Clarkson's Farm series guide By Conor O'Brien, TV Reporter Clarkson's Farm airs on Prime Video and follows TV personality Jeremy Clarkson as he manages his Diddly Squat Farm in the Cotswolds. Three series have been released to date and here is an overview of what has happened so far. Series 1 Jeremy takes over the day-to-day running of the newly renamed Diddly Squat Farm. Lisa Hogan, Kaleb Cooper, "Cheerful Charlie" Ireland and Gerald Cooper are also introduced. Jeremy starts to assemble what he needs for his farm - as well as laying the groundwork for things to come later. He buys key equipment including a tractor and cultivator, as well as taking on sheep and opening a farm shop. Jeremy takes over the day-to-day running of the newly renamed Diddly Squat Farm. Series 2 This series sees Jeremy look for ways to increase the farm's revenue. One such example is bringing in a herd of cows although this isn't without its issues. Jeremy also had the idea to convert the abandoned lambing barn into a restaurant where he could sell his meat from the farm. For this plan to move forward, he had to get planning permission from the local council. Viewers also meet Pepper, a heifer among the herd who ultimately becomes the star's favourite. Series 3 The third series contained some of the show's most emotional moments to date. In heartbreaking scenes, dozens of newborn piglets died as a result of overlaying - their mother rolling on to them. Jeremy said goodbye to his favourite pig - the Baroness - after she developed cancer and needed to be put down. Dry stonewall expert and "head of security" Gerald Cooper was diagnosed with cancer. Jeremy and Kaleb began a competition between themselves - with Kaleb looking after the arable side and Jeremy taking the non-arable elements. Fellow farmers - and famous faces - Andy Cato and George Lamb appear in this series 4
