ADNOC Distribution and TotalEnergies Launch Locally-Made ADNOC Voyager Lubricants in Egypt
ADNOC Distribution, in partnership with TotalEnergies Marketing Egypt (TEME), has announced the launch of ADNOC Voyager lubricants across Egypt.
This marks the first time ADNOC Voyager products will be available at third-party points of sale in the country. ADNOC Voyager products are currently available at select points of sale in greater Cairo and the Nile Delta, as well as on Amazon and noon e-commerce platforms, with ambitions to reach 3,000 points of sale nationwide by the end of 2026.
The launch of ADNOC Voyager lubricants across Egypt is a strategic milestone for the brand, combining local manufacturing with expanded distribution capabilities. Selected ADNOC Voyager products are produced at a state-of-the art TEME blending facility in Borg El Arab, contributing to Egypt's industrial development, creating skilled job opportunities, strengthening local supply chains, and reducing dependence on imports. This aligns with Egypt's broader economic strategy to boost domestic production and attract foreign investment into the industrial sector.

With the nation-wide rollout, ADNOC Distribution – which acquired 50% of TotalEnergies Marketing Egypt in 2023 – continues to deliver on its international growth strategy, expanding its footprint beyond the UAE and Saudi Arabia into North Africa. By entering Egypt's high-potential fuel retail and mobility market, ADNOC Distribution has gained access to North Africa's largest customer base, supporting its ambition to become a leading regional mobility player in line with its five-year growth strategy.

At the official launch event, held at the historic Abdeen Palace in Cairo, ADNOC Distribution unveiled its 'Voyager: Powering Your Everyday Performance' campaign for the Egyptian market, highlighting the lubricant range's superior protection, efficiency, and reliability. The launch was attended by key government officials and industry leaders, including Eng. Karim Badawy, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and Abdulbaset Mohammed Al Marzouqi, Deputy Head of Mission and Acting Chargé d'Affaires of the UAE Embassy in Cairo. The event also welcomed top executives from ADNOC Distribution and TotalEnergies Marketing Egypt, led by Eng. Bader Saeed Al Lamki, CEO of ADNOC Distribution; Jean-Philippe Torres, Senior Vice-Present of TotalEnergies for Africa; and Thomas Strauss, Managing Director and Country Chair of TotalEnergies Marketing Egypt.

A delegation from Egypt is set to visit China next month following last week's visit of a Chinese investment delegation to Egypt A delegation from the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) is scheduled to visit China next month to promote the industrial opportunities available in the SCZONE, Mustafa Ibrahim, vice chair of the China-Egypt Relations Committee at the Egyptian Businessmen's Association (EBA), told Al-Ahram Weekly. The visit is part of ongoing efforts to boost Chinese investments in Egypt. Wang Weizhong, governor of Guangdong Province in China, was also in Cairo last week with a delegation representing Chinese government agencies and Chinese companies interested in investing in the Egyptian market. The delegation also included representatives from Chinese companies already operating in Egypt. Some 2,800 Chinese companies currently operate in Egypt, with total investments exceeding $8 billion, according to the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI). Ibrahim expects Chinese investments to reach $12 billion by the end of 2025. The Chinese delegation explored investment opportunities in various sectors, including electric vehicles. The visit aimed to support the Chinese government's Belt and Road Initiative and to study investment opportunities in the Egyptian market. China plans to move many of its factories abroad due to its commitment to reduce carbon emissions by 2026 and to avoid obstacles that could affect its exports to various countries, including members of the European Union, Ibrahim explained. China is also keen on redirecting its labour force towards high value-added industrial sectors such as the technology industry, in which it has outperformed many of its competitors, he added. Chinese companies are interested in investing across several sectors in Egypt, including textiles, ready-made garments, electrical appliances, the automotive industry, and natural gas exploration. Ibrahim said that China has moved into a new era, transitioning from product imitation to innovation, which has made countries like Germany eager to learn about the technologies used in Chinese robots, for example. China is seeking partners with whom it can strengthen its ties, and Egypt stands out with its large market and trade agreements with many other countries that enable access to nearly three billion consumers, Ibrahim said. He noted that over the past year and a half visits from Chinese delegations have taken a new and more serious turn, with provincial governors and leaders from the ruling party heading the delegations. Chinese investors are also planning to invest in new sectors, including tourism and the establishment of hotels and are currently studying investment opportunities in that field. Ibrahim said that cooperation between Egypt and China takes three main forms, with China exporting production inputs and finished products to Egypt, undertaking projects managed by Chinese companies for implementation in Egypt, and injecting direct investments into the Egyptian economy. He stressed the need for consistent laws and a stable economy to attract foreign investors, making the investment climate more appealing. Ahmed Mounir Ezzeddin, chair of the China-Egypt Relations Committee at the Egyptian Businessmen's Association (EBA), told the Weekly that Egypt's infrastructural development, both in terms of urban expansion and power networks, has opened the door for the establishment of large and medium-sized factories and has encouraged various investments, including those from China. China's only industrial city on the African continent is in Egypt in the shape of the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone on the shores of the Red Sea and south of the Suez Canal. This started on an area of three million square metres and has now expanded to 10 million, reflecting Egypt's importance to Chinese investors. Ezzeddin said that Egypt possesses several factors that attract Chinese investments, such as the new investment law, an improved business environment and a competitive labour force, in addition to competitive electricity and fuel prices. Luxor Governor Receives US Senator Tim Sheehy to Discuss Strengthening Cooperation
Taarek Refaat Abdel Motaleb Amara, Governor of Luxor received Senator Tim Sheehy, a member of the US Congress, as part of his visit to Egypt and the accompanying high-level delegation. The meeting witnessed an open dialogue between the two sides, addressing ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. The Senator began his speech by expressing his happiness at being in Luxor for the second time after 22 years. He expressed his admiration for the positive changes taking place in the city and his amazement at ancient Egyptian civilization, emphasizing that Egypt is a country with a rich civilization dating back thousands of years. Sheehy added that Egypt is an important and ally in the Middle East region, and that it has a promising economic future over the next five years. He expressed his hope for strengthening American partnerships in Egypt and praised the country's ongoing comprehensive development efforts, particularly in infrastructure modernization and the renewable energy sector. On his part, the Governor of Luxor welcomed the US Senator and explained the governorate's economy, which is based on the cultural tourism sector, followed by agriculture and industry. He emphasized that tourist bookings have increased this year compared to last year, and that the booking rate for the upcoming tourist season is very promising and exceeds previous years, despite global events. The governor added that despite the hot June weather approaching, the continued growth of tourism in Luxor has not been affected. He attributed this to the stability and security Egypt enjoys thanks to the wisdom of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who assumed the presidency 10 years ago. He also praised US support for the country. The US Ambassador to Cairo attended the inauguration of the new drinking water station in the village of El-Hanady, east of Esna, south of Luxor. This station will serve approximately 10 villages by 2024. The station was funded by the US Agency for International Development. Hurghada Int'l Airport Celebrates First Flight from Tashkent
Taarek Refaat Hurghada International Airport today received the first flight of Uzbekistan's Centrum Air airline from Tashkent International Airport, carrying 175 tourists. Ayman Salah, Deputy Director of Hurghada International Airport welcomed the passengers with flowers and souvenirs, along with the participation of the public relations and media team, and the traditional water salute.
