Kittie have teamed up with Diamante and The Pretty Wild for a cover of Metallica's 'The Unforgiven,' included on the soundtrack for the upcoming Sumerian Films biopic Queen of the Ring.
The cover, which also features composer Aaron Gilhuis, offers a chance for Kittie to mellow out, setting aside their usual aggressive thrash-metal sound, just like Metallica did when they recorded the iconic ballad. Kittie singer Morgan Lander and her fellow collaborators are backed by sweeping strings and acoustic instrumentation, with the song's crescendo unfolding into a lush Celtic folk arrangement. For Metallica fans, the cover might trigger a flashback to the cinematic treatment of 'Nothing Else Matters' for the Disney film Jungle Cruise.
It's also the second cover song we've heard from the Queen of the Ring soundtrack to involve major metal-leaning artists. We previously reported on Corey Taylor and Bad Omens' version of the Kansas classic 'Dust in the Wind,' which was produced, mixed, and mastered by Gilhuis, and also relies on a similar Celtic folk influence and powerful vocal performances.
The soundtrack for Queen of the Ring is set to release the day the film premieres on March 7th via Sumerian Records, the label of the movie's director/writer Ash Avildsen (American Satan).
Per a press release, Queen of the Ring 'brings to life the untold story of wrestling legend Mildred Burke, who shattered barriers in the 1930s–1950s to become the first million-dollar female athlete and headline arenas over male competitors in a time when women's wrestling was outright banned across much of the US.' The film stars Emily Bett Rickards as Burke, alongside a cast featuring Josh Lucas, Walton Goggins, Gavin Casalegno, Tyler Posey, and Deborah Ann Woll, along with pro-wrestling stars Kamille, Toni Storm, Trinity Fatu, and Jim Cornette making appearances.
Meanwhile, Kittie are coming off the 2024 release of their comeback album Fire. The reunited Canadian band toured in support of the release last year and currently has a festival appearance at Louder Than Life on the books for 2025.

Weekly Tarot Card Reading Horoscope: Week of June 9 2025

You don't need to know the difference between a three-card and a Celtic cross spread, to get the most out of a tarot card reading. All you need: your Sun sign! Here's what I do: Shuffle my tarot deck and pull out the cards in order from Aries to Pisces plus one general card for everyone so that you can get specific advice around your personality. Let's go! Two opposing cosmic forces in play this week: Jupiter moving into Cancer (which wants you to keep those home fires burning) and a Full Moon in Sagittarius (which urges you to get out and explore the world). The Fool tarot card joins the party to really up the ante and promise that we can do it all! New beginnings. New actions. New attitudes. Play home and away and bring a new perspective to your usual routines or plans. Can they be revamped? Maybe you're ready for a new office space, a garden refresh, or a bedroom glow-up. Maybe it's time to book a trip for summer or fall, consider how well you know your local area, or make an effort to visit folk who live elsewhere. This is going to be a busy and game changing week! Start something new at home and away! Unseen forces are swirling around you Aries, nudging you onto new pathways with surprising outcomes and options. It's an exciting week, full of transformation and new ideas. Tune in to this wonderful unseen flow, notice the signs, spot coincidences, and be open minded and alert to unexpected invitations and inputs. The cosmos works in strange ways. Remember that as strange events, that propel you to new landscapes, unfold this week. Look out for Taureans, Leos, Scorpios and Aquarius folk. Look out for games of chance, bonuses, competitions, and opportunities to try your luck. I often go to my Taurean friends and family for validation, for a sense check on events and who is right or wrong. Taureans are natural deliberators and deciders. Justice enters your realm this week and brings with it a demand for such validation and back up. People around you will want you to take a side and to justify an action or your time. This is where reputation is made… and lost. But do pick a side. Your judgment is important and makes a difference. When deciding your viewpoint, remember that things are rarely one-sided. So imagine you are weighting a scale, stacking the evidence on both sides, and feel, instinctively, which side has the stronger, heavier wealth of evidence backing their position. Sometimes it's good to go with the flow and respond to things as they unfold, and sometimes it's better to be pro-active, on the front foot, and in control of how and when things unfold. Like now. The Knight of Swords pulls no punches and asserts his needs and authority over every domain he rides through. This Knight knows what he wants and goes out to make it happen. This is who you are this week. Swords reflects your Air element, after all, and all Geminis have a cut-throat edge to their nature. Use it now. Be a force. Look out for fellow Air sign allies (Libra and Aquarius) who share a common goal. Create partnerships that make logical sense even if you're coming from different directions. This card is all about falling in love, building true and lasting alliances, forging a partnership or collaboration, and strengthening a friendship or family bond. Basically, it's about you getting up close and intimate with the folk that matter most to you. Relationships make your world go around. They are your priority, so invest in the important ones this week and every ounce of your effort will be met and returned. You are deeply loved and appreciated, let folk have the chance to show you how much. This is a beautiful week for you and your inner circle. Look out for the number 2 or repeats of it, for charismatic Water signs (Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio) and for matching items (socks, salt and pepper shakers, etc). These signs will lead you to romance! The path to enlightenment is largely walked solo. It's time to turn inwards and reflect on what you've learned in 2025 so far, what it means for your self image and values, and how you can use it to inform and add wisdom to your next steps. Take this week as a pause in proceedings. Don't make any further major decisions. What you process and turn over in your own mind will reveal a new, emerging layer of knowledge and self awareness underneath and it is in THAT ground that you should plant your new ideas. Plough the field mentally. Seek enlightenment. Look out for wise Virgo friends, family or colleagues who have ideas to share. Look out for places that are both shadow-filled and light and bright. Spend time there, thinking and ruminating. Here comes The Sun… and it's all right! Of course it is, this is the tarot's stellar success card, an omen of joy and prosperity to come! This week might feel like a stepping stone, a transitional or liminal phase. You are moving from one chapter to the next, and the next is the BEST yet. Expect love, romance, friendship, achievement, reward, and long term success. It's all coming your way, you've worked hard and deserve to reap these bonuses. Be confident. Make power moves. Ask, pitch, propose, apply, challenge, suggest. It's all yours for the taking. Look out for inspiring Leo folk who suggest something wonderful, look out for trips or outings to sunny places. Put yourself in and amongst optimistic energies and influences. Hard work beats talent (when talent doesn't work hard, and it often doesn't). So put the work in and give yourself the best chance of success. Don't be afraid of failure or misfiring. You will get further than you think and in the ground covered you will also discover new options, ideas, and alliances. Nothing comes from doing nothing. Something always comes from doing something. Adopt this mindset and work as hard as you can. Look out for Earth sign colleagues or allies who can help you do the heavy lifting, they will do whatever they can, don't turn away assistance. You are the only star sign who will NOT share vulnerability or anxiety. Your shield is held high and your armor fits snugly. But, Scorpio, how then do people begin to trust and warm to you? All alliances are built on shared vulnerabilities and information, it's the currency of relationship building, and you don't want to sit alone in your shadow thinking. Talk, unburden yourself, tell it how it is, say the hardest or scariest thing out loud. You will feel so much better, they will understand, and they will be so glad you trusted them. Look out for cerebral Air signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) who you feel will listen well, input intelligently, and not sugar coat their responses. Ask for and give total honesty. Collaborate and build your reputation by creating magical things with other folk you respect and look up to. Forge new bonds with people who are inspiring, motivating, and dedicated to their craft or cause. You bring a lot to the table and you can take a fair bit away with you too. It's a case of knowing your super power, being clear on what you can deliver and asking for what you really want in return. Get these three things prepped and make your approaches, and who knows where this could all lead! It's through collaboration with others that you will win the game (and I KNOW how competitive you really are). Earth sign (Virgo, Taurus, Capricorn) can be wonderful partners in creativity or whatever you're up to right now! The King of Swords is an old friend of yours; he governs intellect, strategy, and future planning. This is well-known and liked territory for you, Cap, and it's time to enter it again and craft your future steps. Take a time out, gather your tools and inputs, seek stimulus and feedback to give you something to work with (or against) and create your goals, steps, tactics, and milestones. Look ahead and be led by hope (not fear). This is where you design what comes next in your life. Look out for podcasts, articles, or actual people who are offering free advice and guidance on the themes you're planning around. Expert help will accelerate your results. Lucky you, Aquarius! The Six of Wands is such an injection of good fortune and luck, and it's with you to stay—well for six weeks anyway! For the coming month ahead, everything you touch with turn to success! Invest in priorities and much-hoped-for projects. Follow your interests and passions. Take a bold leap into the unknown, take a risk, be pro-active. Aim higher than you dare to. Lady Luck is on your team, backing your moves, and bringing you unexpected openings and opportunities. Walk with her, with confidence. Look out for Fire sign folk (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) making you an offer, openings that require luck to land them, and places, roles, or opportunities surrounded by light, materially or metaphorically. The Moon is your sign's card in the tarot deck, it represents your powerful intuition and instincts for truth. You get a knowing about certain things. You have hunches that prove correct. You tend to feel whether things are off or not transparent. You will receive those feelings this week. Trust them and follow them, find their trigger or origin, and put pressure on the situation to force a revelation. And then take action accordingly. Look out for other Pisceans you can confide in, reflections and echoes that catch your eye (in that moment, pause and see what comes to mind), and what might've happened at the last Full Moon (perhaps there's a clue there).

Rap star Snoop Dogg wants to open burger van at Celtic

Legendary rapper Snoop Dogg has revealed he wants to show his love for Celtic by opening a burger van outside the home of the Scottish champions. The American music icon has previously expressed interest in buying a stake in the Glasgow club after being inspired by the success of Hollywood celebrities Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney at English second-tier side Wrexham. Advertisement But the 53-year-old has now set his sights on a more modest connection with a team he has long admired. Snoop Dogg, who has published a recipe book called 'From Crook to Cook', once described Celtic supporters as "special" and said he identified with the club's mascot Hoopy the Hound. He told the Sunday Mail that Celtic fans would flock to the burger van and that it would become a foodie "Paradise", the nickname give to the club's Parkhead stadium. "I would love to bring a pop-up burger van to a sports stadium to show fans that food at stadiums can be good," he said. Advertisement "It's got to be Celtic Park, man. The secret to a good burger is the love in the preparation. The ground beef has got to be mixed with some secret spices, then add a good quality cheese and some maple-cured bacon. "The Celtic fans are gonna love it, and to make sure they are just right, Snoop is going to be serving them himself." Snoop Dogg worked as a correspondent for NBC at the Paris Olympics last year, has launched two youth football leagues, and has been a vocal advocate for pay equality for female athletes. He claimed he would not be taking his culinary ventures to Celtic's arch rivals Rangers. "Am I going to bring my burgers to Rangers as well? Nah, I think we will give that a miss," he said. smg/kca/lp
