NHL awards season begins soon with top players set to be honored
The NHL is set to celebrate its greatest stars of the season. Beginning Monday, April 28, supporters will learn the finalists for the 2025 NHL Awards. The awards are awarded to the best players, goaltenders, coaches, and even community heroes.

The list kicks off on April 28 with the
Vezina Trophy finalists
, given to the best goalie of the year.
On April 29, we'll find out who's in the race for the James Norris Trophy, awarded to the best defenceman.
2025 NHL Awards Predictions | 32 Thoughts
Next up, on April 30, the Ted Lindsay Award finalists will be named. This one is chosen by the players as the most outstanding player. Then comes May 1 with the highlight of them all – the Hart Trophy, for season MVP.
On May 2, there was a significant fall:
Bill Masterton Trophy (courage and perseverance),
Selke Trophy (best defensive forward),
Jack Adams Award (best coach), and
Lady Byng Trophy (sportsmanship and ability).
NHL gives spotlight to rookies leaders and those making a real change
The Calder Trophy finalists, who recognize the outstanding rookie, are revealed on May 5.
Later on May 12, the time arrived to shine a light on the difference makers off the ice with the Willie O'Ree Community Hero Award.
The announcement of Jim Gregory General Manager of the Year Award finalists follows the conclusion of the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Only the King Clancy Trophy and Mark Messier Leadership Award will bypass the finalist round.
Only the winners will be awarded.
