26/11 Mumbai attack: Delhi court allows NIA to record Tahawwur Rana's voice, handwriting samples
A Delhi court has allowed the NIA to collect the voice and handwriting samples of 26/11 Mumbai attack accused Tahawwur Hussain Rana, a source said.
Special National Investigation Agency (NIA) Judge Chander Jit Singh, who on April 28 extended Rana's custody for 12 days, passed the order on April 30 on an application moved by the agency.
Rana, a close associate of 26/11 main conspirator David Coleman Headley alias Daood Gilani, a U.S. citizen, was brought to India after the U.S. Supreme Court on April 4 dismissed his review plea against his extradition to India.

On November 26, 2008, a group of 10 Pakistani terrorists went on a rampage, carrying out a coordinated attack on a railway station, two luxury hotels and a Jewish centre, after they sneaked into India's financial capital using the sea route.
As many as 166 people were killed in the nearly 60-hour assault.

NIA files charge sheet against 3 KZF men in Punjab grenade attack case, 'foreign handlers' link unearthed
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a charge sheet against three individuals in a Special Court in connection with the grenade attack on a police post in Punjab's SBS Nagar district in 2024. The counter-terrorism agency, in its findings, has tracked down the bombing of the police post to a major conspiracy by the banned Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) terror outfit. 'Three accused -- Yugpreet Singh alias Yuvi Nihung, Jaskaran Singh alias Shah, and Harjot Singh alias Jot Hundal, all hailing from Rahon village in SBS Nagar, have been charged under various sections of UA(P) Act, Explosive Substances Act and other related provisions, said the agency in a statement on Sunday. The NIA said that it has further launched investigations against KZF chief and Designated Individual Terrorist (DIT) Ranjit Singh alias Neeta, the outfit's member operative Jagjit Singh Lahiri alias Jagga alias Hari Singh (currently in the UK), and other unidentified terror operatives. The police post was targeted by three individuals in 2024, with illicit support from foreign handlers who aided them with money and grenades, said reports. The case was taken over by the NIA from the Punjab Police in March this year. The agency in its statement further said, 'Jagga had recruited Yugpreet Singh through an acquaintance in the UK. Along with other KZF terrorists and operatives, Jagga had radicalised Yugpreet and handled him via encrypted messaging applications. Jagga had also provided Yugpreet with over Rs 4.36 lakh of terror funds through a complex chain of Canada-based entities, who have also been identified and examined.' 'Yugpreet had in turn recruited the other two chargesheeted accused, and the trio had carried out the attack at Police Post Asron during the night between 1st and 2nd December 2024. The three accused had been provided the grenade by their foreign-based handlers earlier in November 2024,' it further noted. In another parallel investigation, the NIA recently conducted multiple raids at 15 locations in Punjab and Haryana, in connection with the January 2025 grenade attack at a police post in Amritsar. A host of damning documents, including mobile phones and digital gadgets, were recovered from their custody.

On Saturday night, Iran targeted the Israeli coastal city of Haifa with a barrage of ballistic missiles and suicide drones, causing significant damage. Haifa houses the strategic Haifa Port, in which Gautam Adani acquired a 70 percent stake worth $1.2 billion in 2023. The coastal city is also home to a major Israeli naval bases, besides the country's largest oil refinery, which is located in the Haifa Bay area, and several chemical plants. Iran said the attack targeted Israel's oil refineries and naval base in Haifa, not civilian infrastructure. Adani Ports' stake in Israel's Haifa Port As per details, the Adani group, in partnership with Israel's Gadot Group, purchased a 70 percent stake in the Haifa Port in 2023 for $1.2 billion. Gadot owns a 30 percent stake in the joint venture, which has the contract to operate the Haifa port till 2054. Gautam Adani's investment under threat The Haifa Port is one of key trade ports for Israel, and also accounts for around 3 percent of the total cargo volume of Adani Ports. However, Gautam Adani's investment in the Israeli port is now under serious threat due to escalation in the Iran-Israel war. According to experts, regional stability has drastically declined amid the raging Iran-Israel war, and could result in delays in cargo delivery at the Haifa Port and changes in shipping routes. The ill-effects of the Israel-Iran war are already being seen on Adani Group shares on Friday, with shares of Adani Port, considered the cash cow of the group, slumping by more than 3% to Rs 1396, and closing at Rs 1405.25 apiece, a decline of 2.71 percent. The shares of Adani Enterprises, the flagship firm of the Adani Group, also dipped 1.36 percent, closing at Rs 2505.65. Gautam Adani investments in Israel Gautam Adani's investments in Israel are not limited to ports, but extend to significant joint defense ventures in the Jewish state. In 2018, Adani Enterprises partnered with Israel's Elbit Systems, establishing the Adani Elbit Advanced Systems India, which manufactures Hermes 900 drones in Hyderabad, that are extensively used by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). While Adani's defense venture is likely to benefit from the ongoing conflict, his investment in Haifa Port faces a major threat as tensions escalate.
