Cervantes woman claims $250k sticking with lucky numbers
A Cervantes woman who stuck with the same Lotto numbers for 25 years is now $255,000 richer after scoring in the Saturday Lotto on Saturday April 19.
The winner from WA said she was left 'dumbfounded' after discovering her ticket from Pinnacles Post and News was a Division One prize.
'I went to check my ticket, however, the newsagent took me aside and waited until the store was clear to tell me the good news,' she said.
The West Aussie said her son was in shock, as he had told her to give up on playing those numbers a long time ago.
'I told my son I'd buy him a new car, but he said no mum this is your win you deserve it and need to enjoy it.'
The lucky numbers which the woman had been picking for over two decades were 28, 10, 44, 21, 19 and 14.
It seems these numbers weren't just lucky for her — they were chosen by 18 players from across the country resulting in each of them winning a $250,000 slice of Easter Saturday's $5 million draw.
There was only one other WA winner from the 18. It's been claimed by a Perth local in his fifties who purchased the ticket via Lotterywest Play Online.
Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said the past week has been a flurry of good news for WA players.
'It's been wonderful to see so many WA families recently celebrate a Division One prize, from our $30 million Powerball win to this duo of Saturday Lotto winners,' he said.

Perth man's insane prediction before huge Lotto win
Decades of dedication have paid off for one Perth resident who claimed a 'life-changing' division one Lotto prize on Saturday. The south of the river man — who purchased his ticket from Newstime Lottery Centre in the CBD — has been playing his favourite numbers for 30 years. After matching five winning numbers the weekend before, the man predicted he would win big in the next draw. 'I had a good feeling I might get six this weekend,' he said. The winner was still shocked to discover on Monday that he had won a massive $546,068. He said he will use his winnings to retire a little earlier and travel the country with his wife in 'probably a bit more luxurious caravan than (they) had initially planned'. Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said the man was one of two WA division one winners on Saturday — with the second winner purchasing his ticket online. 'Saturday Lotto continues to be the game that produces more division one wins in WA than any other game.' Another eight people won big, taking home nearly $10,000 each in division two. WA's Division Two tickets were sold from: Carousel Lottery Centre & News Innaloo Lottery Centre Miami Newsagency, Falcon Optimal Pharmacy Plus Midland Priceline Pharmacy Woodvale The Mezz News, Mount Hawthorn Lotterywest Play Online x 2. Saturday's winning numbers: 1, 28, 19, 6, 17, 10 and Supps: 35, 14

'Legendary': jackpot lottery winner yet to claim $100m
A jackpot-winning lottery player could be blissfully unaware their bank balance is about to receive a $100 million bump. The mystery player held the only division-one winning entry in Thursday's $100 million Powerball jackpot draw. Lottery officials are waiting for the winner to come forward, as they have no way of contacting them because their ticket was not registered. The winning entry was bought from Bondi Junction Newsagency and Internet Cafe, in Sydney's eastern suburbs. "It's legendary to hear we've sold the winning ticket," owner Manish said on Saturday. "I'm hoping it's one of our regular customers but you never know, it could be a tourist too. We're located right next to the closest station to Bondi Beach." An estimated 10 million Australians took a punt on winning the $100 million top prize. While winners in NSW have six years to claim their prizes, The Lott spokeswoman Eliza Wregg urged players to check their tickets. "With a winning entry tucked away in their car, wallet or stuck on their fridge door, one NSW player is walking around completely oblivious to the fact their life has forever changed," she said. A Queensland woman was the last person to take home $100m, pocketing half of a $200 million Powerball jackpot in February 2024. The odds of a single entry winning the division-one prize are more than 134 million to one. The winning numbers on Thursday were 28, 10, 3, 16, 31, 14 and 21 and the Powerball number was 6. $100m Powerball mystery leads to Bondi
One of Australia's biggest ever lottery prizes is still unclaimed, but new details have emerged to help track down the winner. Powerball operators The Lott have revealed that the sole winner of a $100m grand prize bought their ticket at an outlet in Bondi. The winning entry was purchased at Bondi Junction Newsagency and Internet Cafe, inside the local Westfield shopping centre. It has been more than 34 hours since one mystery Australian became the lucky winner, but the ticket has still not been claimed. The winner's ticket for the megadraw was unregistered, which means that lottery officials have no way of contacting them. Instead, ticket holders who tried their luck in Bondi are being encouraged to check their results and make contact with officials. Only six other Australians know what it feels like to win a $100m prize. NewsWire/ David Crosling Credit: News Corp Australia The Lott spokesperson Eliza Wregg said that one New South Wales punter was 'walking around completely oblivious' to their life-changing news. 'There are 100 million reasons why Sydney's eastern suburbs players should check their tickets today,' Ms Wregg said. 'Imagine discovering you're suddenly a multi-millionaire! You could immediately retire, take the trip of your dreams, or spoil those nearest and dearest to you.' The owner of the Bondi Junction Newsagency & Internet Cafe, Manish, said it was 'legendary' to hear that his team had sold the winning ticket. 'This is by far the biggest winning entry we've ever sold. The team are thrilled to hear the winning news. I'll be rewarding the particular staff member who sold the winning ticket too,' he said. 'The staff here are always excited, but they'll be extra excited to hear we've sold the big winning ticket. 'I'm hoping it's one of our regular customers, but you never know it could be a tourist too. We're located right next to closest station to Bondi Beach, so you never know!' The winning entry was bought at Bondi Junction Newsagency & Internet Cafe. NewsWire/ David Crosling Credit: News Corp Australia Powerball draw 1517 was conducted on Thursday and the winning numbers were 28, 10, 3, 16, 31, 14 and 21. The Powerball number was 6. When claimed, the winner of the $100m pot will join an exclusive club of mega lottery winners. Only six Australians have ever claimed a Powerball prize of $100m or more. It is estimated that half of all adults in the country bought tickets to Thursday night's draw. The odds of winning the grand prize are slim, at a margin of one in 134 million.
