'I represented UK at Eurovision - here's what I told Remember Monday'
Former X Factor star Lucie Jones represented represented the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2017 - and she's given 2025 stars Remember Monday some crucial advice
Eurovision hopefuls Remember Monday will be taking to the stage in Basel tonight in hopes to bring the title back to the UK. The band will be performing their hit song What The Hell Just Happened? in front of millions - and one former Eurovision star has shared what she told the band ahead of their big moment.
It's no secret that the UK don't have the best luck in the competition - as the trio Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele told Richard Arnold on Good Morning Britain earlier this week that they hope to at least make it to the left side of the board.
Lucie Jones finished in 15th place during her performance in 2017 in Ukraine with her performance of Never Give Up on You. It marked the the UK's best result since 2011 - and Lucie exclusively told the Mirror what advice she's given her friends Remember Monday ahead of their performance tonight.
Revealing she'd spoken to the girls since she found out about their performance, Lucie revealed: "I've spoken to the girls quite a lot since I found out they were doing the show this year, or the competition, I should say. I never think of it as a competition because it's such like a celebration, do you know what I mean?"
Although Lucie said the girls "didn't need any advice" because of how great they are, there was one crucial piece of guidance she gave them. "My one piece of advice to them was just have fun," she told us.
"Eurovision is the most fun, and if you take yourself too seriously within it, it will never go well for you."
This year, Lucie will be away in Stockholm for work, but she'll be supporting Remember Monday from overseas.
"I've seen them in concert a few times and I know the girls, they're smashing it! I'll be in Stockholm on Eurovision night, but I will be wrapping my Remember Day t-shirt and I will be voting as many times as I can," she gushed.
Viewers saw Remember Monday perform on the Eurovision stage for the first time on Thursday night - as they gave a preview of what was to come during tonight's live final.
The trio danced around a giant chandelier as they harmonised in the performance. Fans were loving the performance, as some declared them winners already. One fan said: "The UK slaying the vocals also, yes girls!" Another commented: "Dare I say it… uk shock winners?"

Jeremy Clarkson's blunt response to punter who criticised price of pie at his pub
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Jeremy Clarkson has cheekily hit back at patrons complaining about the £24 cost of a steak pie at his pub, quipping: "Enjoy your chlorine". The 65 year old Clarkson's Farm star is adamant about paying 'premium' prices for high-quality local beef used in the pies at The Farmer's Dog, the establishment featured in the Amazon series. Clarkson implied that those who find the price steep might opt for cheaper, chemically-treated meat instead. The forthright former Top Gear host responded to a dissatisfied customer who reached out on social media, lamenting: "Thought @JeremyClarkson wanted an affordable pub for customers. £24 for pie and veg is a bit much." Clarkson, never one to dodge confrontation, retorted: "Have you seen beef prices right now? If you could make it for less, I'll give you a job." Most come from other farmers in the area and we pay a premium. We are here to back British farming. If you don't want to do that, fine. Enjoy your chlorine." The latest instalment of Clarkson's Farm follows Clarkson as he grapples with rising costs while launching his pub near Diddly Squat Farm in Chipping Norton, Oxon. One notable scene features him recoiling from the stench while restoring the pub's ancient septic tank, reports the Mirror. The Farmer's Dog, which opened in August committed to serving only local fare, has captured the hearts of many despite Jeremy Clarkson's frank admission that the venture was initially making a loss of £10 per customer. The current menu proudly showcases a 'steak pie, mash, carrots, seasonal greens and Hawkstone gravy' priced at £24. Promoting unabashedly British cuisine, the pub's website says: "Our menu is made entirely with ingredients produced on British farms. It'll change based on what's in season, but it'll always be absolutely f****** delicious. Take a look and see what takes your fancy." Critics on social media have deemed the price of the pie 'f****** extortionate' and have branded Clarkson 'tight', with one making the jibe: "At least Dick Turpin wore a mask." However, those who've actually tasted the pub's offerings are full of praise, some even suggesting the prices could be pushed higher. One satisfied customer claimed victory on Twitter, saying: "Was the best £24 spent! Fantastic meal there, great food and all local produce - stop whinging!". Praise continued from another admirer with the words: "Ah! But what pie", while a further comment stated: "Worth every penny." Echoing the sentiment, a happy regular opined: "Best pub in the world is not for you, stick to McDonalds." Adding to the endorsements, diner Jason Rees recounted his experience: "Having eaten in @JeremyClarkson's pub and expecting it to be over hyped and average I was so impressed with the food we rebooked, as soon as we could, to repeat the experience." He also emphasised: "It's not cheap food but the quality was outstanding." Corrie legend Vicky Entwistle, 56, best known for portraying Janice Battersby and appearing on Celebrity Big Brother, opined: "I think that price is want to visit my village pub up north the prices are through the roof." One fan remarked in agreement: "I'm guessing it's using unprocessed ingredients and fresh veg. There's a saying you get what you pay for. You could have a Dacia Duster pie meal for £10 rr a Mercedes pie for £24." Another retort aimed at a detractor was: "You must be a complete idiot! £4 is vat Then you take off the price of the fresh ingredients, then the staffs salary, Nat ins, and employer pension contribution, then the non domestic rates, gas and electric, rent. There will not be much left at all. Price should be £30." (Image: PA)

Danny Dyer's daughter, Dani Dyer, said she'd had the 'best day of her life' when she married footballer, Jarrod Bowen, on Saturday, at a lavish bash in Buckinghamshire Dani Dyer has shared the adorable moment her proud dad, Danny, saw her in her wedding dress for the first time when she got married to Jarrod Bowen on Saturday. The Love Island star, 28, said she'd had the 'best day of her life' at the lavish nuptials in Buckinghamshire at which EastEnders star Danny, 47, played a very important role. In a gorgeous montage of snaps of the big day shared on Instagram, Danny can be seen waiting in anticipation for his firstborn to reveal her stunning wedding dress as she prepared to become Mrs Bowen. As Dani turns round, sporting a beautiful off-the-shoulder white silk gown, with her hair tied into an elegant bun, Danny's eyes fill with tears as he gives his daughter a huge hug. Danny walked Dani, who has now changed her name to Dani Dyer-Bowen, down the aisle at the wedding at the five-star Langley Hotel while the Love Island star's two-year-old twin daughters, Summer and Star, were flower girls. The Football Factory star also gave a speech during the reception, which was reportedly 'toned down' before the big day by Dani's mum, Jo. After the newlyweds said 'I do', Danny couldn't resist injecting a bit of football banter into the proceedings. In videos shared on social media, he can be heard encouraging guests to sing 'Bowen's On Fire - and he's married Dani Dyer ' to the tune of pop star Gala's hit Freed from Desire, as guests could be seen waving white napkins in the air. Speaking about how important it was for Danny to give Dani a wedding she'd 'never forget', a source told the Mirror: "Family is everything to Dani and Danny is the same way. He pulled out all of the stops to make sure it's a wedding no one would forget for his little girl – the best day of her life. "He adores her and actually says he's got her to thank for some things because Dani winning Love Island boosted his career too. Dani feels she has found her soulmate in Jarrod and it's a relief after she's had so many ups and downs. "Everyone else loves him too. Jarrod and Danny get on so well, which was important to Dani, so it was always going to be a wonderful celebration for the family.' Hammers fan Danny is also a huge fan of his son-in-law, who plays for his beloved West Ham football team. Speaking about his daughter's relationships, Danny told the Mirror: "I have gone from the lying scum, and I hate them, to a man who I would not mind tonguing myself! "A strong man. If he lent in I would put my lips on this geezer. He is just, as a father and joking aside, he took her on with a 14 month old son and that says a lot about a man I will tell you." He added: 'He is amazing. I can't wait to give her away. What a touch. But if he was to make a move on me before… I think I'm in love with him, slightly.'
