Kajol Reveals Rejecting Aamir Khan, Rajkumar Hirani's 3 Idiots: 'Have Done Very Well Without Them'
Last Updated:
Kajol mentioned that she has no regrets about rejecting 3 Idiots.
Kajol is one of the most popular actresses in Bollywood. As such, she has received many film offers and had to turn down some films that later became blockbusters. In a recent conversation with Pinkvilla, she revealed she rejected Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani's 3 Idiots. However, the actress has no regrets about rejecting films and doesn't think too much before saying no if she doesn't resonate with the script.
Kajol said, 'Lots of times, prime example is 3 Idiots (laughs)." The DDLJ actress mentioned that she has no regrets about rejecting these movies. 'I feel that those films were theirs, you know, jaise bolte hain na jiska likha hua hai usko hi milta hai..toh, I think that I have done very well for myself without them," Kajol said.
Released in 2009, 3 Idiots is a critically acclaimed Bollywood film directed by Rajkumar Hirani and based loosely on Chetan Bhagat's novel Five Point Someone. Starring Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, and Sharman Joshi as the titular trio, the film is a heartwarming yet powerful commentary on India's rigid education system and the pressures it places on young minds.
Set primarily in an elite engineering college, 3 Idiots follows the lives of three students: Rancho (Aamir Khan), Farhan (R. Madhavan), and Raju (Sharman Joshi). Kareena Kapoor plays Pia, the daughter of the strict college director and Rancho's love interest, adding depth and warmth to the storyline.
Although Kajol rejected Pia's role, Kareena Kapoor's portrayal of the character won several hearts globally. Recently, Kareena revealed that acclaimed filmmaker Steven Spielberg has not only watched 3 Idiots but has also appreciated her performance in the film.
Kareena Kapoor said at WAVES 2025, 'Spielberg was sitting in the same restaurant. This was many moons ago when 3 Idiots had just been released. He actually came up to me and asked, 'Are you the girl who's in that very famous Indian film about three students?' I said, 'Yes, that's me.' He said, 'My God, I love that movie.'" Kareena said that it was a huge moment for her that Steven Spielberg had watched the film.
Meanwhile, Kajol will next be seen in Maa. The film is directed by Vishal Furia and is slated for a June 27 release. The film is said to have a connection with Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan's Shaitaan. Ajay Devgn is also one of the producers of the film.

4 Indian Cricketers Who Are Playing In MLC 2025: Unmukt Chand, Agni Chopra And...
3 / 8 Agni Chopra, who holds the record of being the first cricketer to hit four tons in his first four Ranji Trophy matches while playing for Mizoram, is currently representing MI New York (MINY) in the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 season. Agni, son of Bollywood director Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who played domestic cricket in India as recently as January 2025, was allowed to participate in MLC 2025 for MI New York due to a special reason. Interestingly, Agni is not an Indian passport holder despite being Indian. Chopra holds a USA citizenship due to his birth in Detroit. His dream to play in America came true as the BCCI recently amended their policy which stated that players with Indian passports would only be allowed to compete in the domestic tournaments. Earlier, overseas cricketers (even entire teams, such as those in the Duleep Trophy) had played domestic cricket in India, but they will no longer be allowed to do so.

Will Sitaare Zameen Par face a delay after Aamir Khan rejects CBFC cuts? Here's what we know
Aamir Khan's comeback film, 'Sitaare Zameen Par,' faces a hurdle as the CBFC requests cuts, potentially delaying its June 20, 2025 release. Khan and director R.S. Prasanna are reportedly against the edits, leading to a standoff. Aamir plans to meet with the CBFC again, hoping for a resolution by June 16 to secure certification and allow advance bookings. Aamir Khan 's much-awaited return to the big screen with Sitaare Zameen Par is facing an unexpected hurdle just days ahead of its scheduled release. The film, which explores the uplifting story of specially-abled children guided by a determined coach, is yet to receive clearance from the CBFC due to a dispute over suggested cuts—raising questions about a possible delay. Here's everything we know so far. According to a report quoted by Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC has requested two cuts in Sitaare Zameen Par. However, Aamir Khan reportedly believes the film should be cleared without any edits. The source added that both Aamir and director RS Prasanna have crafted the film thoughtfully, and certain scenes or dialogues make complete sense within their context. The specific details of the cuts requested by the CBFC remain undisclosed, but the issue has reportedly caused a temporary standoff between the filmmakers and the certification board. This impasse has, in turn, delayed the film's progress toward its scheduled release. The report further revealed that since Aamir Khan has not agreed to the suggested cuts, Sitaare Zameen Par has yet to receive its censor certificate. Aamir now plans to meet the CBFC Examining Committee again on Monday to present his case. The hope is that a resolution will be reached by June 16, allowing the film to be certified. Only then can advance bookings begin, as theatres are not permitted to sell tickets without a censor certificate. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Memperdagangkan CFD Emas dengan salah satu spread terendah?
