Owner Sends Puppy to Doggy Day Care To 'Socialize,' Then Checks the Camera
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A dog owner who wanted to help her puppy socialize, sent him to day care to be with other pups. When she checked the camera, she realized her plan didn't work. In a viral Instagram video shared in May under the username @wolfdendiaries, the poster says, "Me sending my dog to day care to socialize and make friends since he is so people obsessed," as footage of her cute puppy plays in the background. "Meanwhile my dog at day care," she continues, showing footage recorded by the day care camera showing the little puppy enjoying his time with a carer, who picks him up and snuggles him. "Maybe next time, so happy the workers were so kind and welcoming to him though!!! I literally was just watching him on the camera the entire time having separation anxiety," she wrote in the caption. Socializing a puppy is not just about teaching them how to make friends. Exposure to other canines also helps them accept everything around them and react without fear, according to Veterinary Partner. The medical website says that socialization is especially important for animals who are orphans, because the lack of interaction with their mother and siblings has left them without basis as to how to behave around others. The best time for socialization is between 3 and 14 weeks of age. The experiences they learn during this key period of socialization will shape the way they will act around others in the future. Socialization is important because social dogs get more exercise and have more fun. They are also easier to groom, and handle exams by veterinarians more easily. They also tend to have less fear and anxiety, and are less prone to aggression. Stock photo: A small puppy stands near a crate playing with toys. Gabblt25 posted: "My pup goes to doggy day care and only interacts/sits next to/follows the employees … I have never seen him even interact with another dog." Mingo3916 added: "Mine sits up at the front desk and 'helps' them work." Newsweek reached out to @wolfdendiaries for comment via Instagram comments. We could not verify the details of the case. Cat Owner Woken Up at 3am, Unprepared for What They Find in the Bathroom
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A cat owner went viral after revealing the hilarious reason they were woken up at 3 a.m., leaving internet users in hysterics. In a TikTok video shared on April under the username @mila_n_miley, the poster's black cat, Mila, can be seen frenetically trying to flush the toilet, as if she wants to hide something from her owner. "Woke up at 3 am to THIS," the poster writes in the clip. "Please, just let me sleep once," they add in the caption. Mila could have chosen any time of the day to make noise in the bathroom. However, like many cats do, she chose the middle of the night. But why do felines always tend to misbehave at night? Nighttime activity is actually pretty normal for cats. It is a trait inherited from their wild ancestors, who, as crepuscular creatures, would be up and active early in the morning or late at night, so much so that they developed incredible night vision. This strategic behavior made it easier for wildcats to hunt prey while also being protected from other predators who weren't as well equipped for night hunting as them. If this behavior is disrupting your routine, then there are things you can do to change it, but, first, you must make sure it is not being caused by medical issues. Feline dementia, dental disease, or arthritis can also keep your kitty up at night. If your cat isn't spayed or neutered, mating behaviors may also be the source of the issue. If your cat is healthy, playing with them before bed can help make them too tired for nighttime shenanigans. You could also change their feeding times to fit your schedule, as eating earlier, could help avoid zoomies. Stock image: A messy household bathroom is seen through a door. One user, TheSheffieldBard, commented: "Don't disturb the void when it's making acute scientific observations." Sharafchiger posted: "Mine ALWAYS plays with plastic bags when I'm asleep, wakes me up every single time." Egg added: "If you look closely … you can almost see a thought forming." Greenville mayor talks 10-story ‘Honor Tower' construction in Unity Park
GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – Construction continues on a 10-story tower Greenville city leaders said will honor those who serve while bringing the community together. Greenville mayor Knox White told 7NEWS he envisions the Honor Tower in Unity Park as a gathering place for ceremonies honoring veterans and first responders. 'After Hurricane Helene and everything else we've all been through, I think we understand even better than ever before how important our first responders are, and it's a great way to honor them,' White said. White said the 10-story Thomas and Vivian Wong Honor Tower not only pays homage to men and women in uniform, but also highlights the unique history of the surrounding neighborhood. 'Unity Park has a very compelling story behind it. It was the site of a segregated park system, a black park and a white park,' White also said. The base of the tower features a plaza city leaders said can hold 200 people. White added visitors will be able to walk or take an elevator to the 10th floor for a small fee. 'It'll be one of the iconic features of our city. Just like the Liberty Bridge, we used a world renown architect and designer for the honor tower, Paul Endres, he's done great work,' White explained. White said the tower is a result of around $10 million in private and public partnerships. The aim is to boost appreciation for the communities and cultures that call Greenville home, according to White. 'It's really meant to be experienced on the outside as well as on top. A beautiful view on top, but it's a beautiful piece of art, and architecture that'll be a real crowning achievement for Unity Park,' White went on to say. White said the Honor Tower will also include sound systems and be illuminated in the evenings. It is expected to open to the public this fall. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
