A new global study has revealed the world's easiest walking routes to the world's most stunning views, with four UK trails making it onto the list
Hiking getaways have seen a surge in popularity, particularly for domestic trips. As a result, a recent worldwide study conducted by AllClear Travel Insurance pinpointed the most straightforward strolls leading to the globe's most spectacular vistas, with four UK paths making the cut.
Researchers scrutinised over 100 picturesque trails globally, ranking them according to difficulty based on distance, elevation, and average temperature. America's Artist Point in Yellowstone National Park topped the list.

Trailing closely behind were the USA's Cadillac Summit Loop in second and New Zealand's Milford Sound Foreshore Walk in third.

Securing joint tenth position were the UK's Porthdinllaen Circular in Wales and Northern Ireland's Giant's Causeway Blue Trail. The Old Man of Storr route in the Scottish Highlands, one of Scotland's most emblematic locations, secured the 11th spot on the list.
This trek leads you to the Old Man of Storr, a rock formation that came into existence millions of years ago, during the era when dinosaurs roamed the Earth.
Local folklore suggests that the rocks are the thumb of a giant now resting beneath the earth, while some believe the visage of an old man is etched into the stone, reports the Express.
Taking to TripAdvisor one hiker who enjoyed this route, wrote: "Breathtaking scenery. Lovely walk up. Yes it's steep, but take your time and enjoy it!
"Had a couple of loops around the car park before we found a space but let's be honest, it's incredible to even have a car park and toilet facilities at a Scottish place of interest so we were more than happen to wait. Anyone who expects more on a Scottish Island needs to hot tail it back to whatever city they come from. Enjoy it for what it is."

As reported by AllTrails, the Welsh Porthdinllaen Circular can be completed in just over an hour, offering breathtaking coastal views and possible seal sightings. An enthusiastic walker shared: "Stunning little coastal walk.
"There was a secluded beach just before the trail tells you to exit the golf course. I wasn't missing out on those! The way down is steep but oh so worth it!"
Similarly, visitors on AllTrails have showered the Giant's Causeway Blue Trail with glowing reviews, noting its jaw-dropping views and picturesque landscapes. One satisfied hiker wrote: "A must see in Northern Ireland. Great hike, surreal views. Make sure to bring water."
The final UK entry on the list was the Chee Dale Stepping Stones Circular, a picturesque trail skirting the edge of the Peak District.
The world's 15 easiest scenic walks:
Artist Point, USA
Cadillac Summit Loop, USA
Milford Foreshore Walk, New Zealand
Cape Flattery Trail, USA
Moraine Lake Shoreline Trail Canada
Blue Trail, Path of Love: Riomaggiore - Manarola, Italy
Moro Rock, USA
Grand Canyon South Rim, USA
Bastei - Basteribrücke Bridge, Germany

42 photos capturing the thrill of summer holidays in Scotland during the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s

This retro photo gallery shows children and their families making the most of the summer around Scotland during the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s. Holidaymakers are pictured paddling at the beach, taking the plunge at the lido and cruising down the river in these nostalgic images. Trips to the zoo, where visitors are pictured watching the popular penguin parade; pony rides; and summer fairs, where the attractions included a dog on a scooter, are among the summer activities captured in these atmospheric black and white pictures. Sunbathers are shown soaking up the rays, or using any means possible to cool down as the sun shines, but crowds are also seen huddled in the rain when the summer weather wasn't being so kind. A floating museum, a Scottish football legend getting mobbed by young fans, and fun times at the fairground are among the other memorable images of yesteryear captured in this gallery. Steamship marks 125 years sailing on scenic Scottish loch

Departing with a long blast from the ship's steam whistle, the excited cheers of young voices marked the start of a weekend-long Steamboat Festival at Trossachs Pier. The festival is the centrepiece of a special anniversary year for the Steamship Sir Walter Scott, which was crowned Flagship of the Year 2025 by National Historic Ships UK in April. READ MORE: Historic steamship gears up for 125th anniversary celebration Historic ship begins 125th season on scenic Scottish loch SS Sir Walter Scott returns to Loch Katrine An actor portraying Sir Walter Scott joined the celebrations, honouring the poet whose 1810 masterpiece 'The Lady of the Lake' made him and Loch Katrine, where the poem is set, famous. Built in 1899 at Denny's Shipyard in Dumbarton on the Clyde, Steamship Sir Walter Scott was commissioned to replace the ageing and smaller Rob Roy steamer and help satisfy the huge demand for sailings from the large numbers of visitors flocking to the Trossachs. Tributes were also paid to Captain John MacKinnon, who steered the maiden voyage in 1900. A larger-than-life figure, Captain MacKinnon and his family played a defining role in the first half of the Steamer's life. He remained at the helm until his death, when his son Donald took over as captain. During both World Wars, John and Donald's daughters also cared for the ship. Highlights of this weekend's Steamboat Festival at Trossachs Pier include pirate-themed cruises aboard the Rob Roy Smuggler, complete with storytelling, face painting, and a treasure hunt, alongside a flotilla of classic and model steamboats sailing on the loch. There will also be live music, traditional games, appearances from costumed performers, local food and drink tastings, craft stalls, and fascinating heritage exhibitions. In a tribute to the vessel's enduring legacy, 125 local schoolchildren from local schools joined the cruise, recreating the historic maiden journey. (Image: Paul Saunders) James Fraser, CEO and Lead Trustee of Steamship Sir Walter Scott said: "To see 125 schoolchildren aboard this morning's voyage, representing the future, on a vessel that has been sailing since their great-great-grandparents' time, was truly emotional. "This Steamer is more than a boat: she symbolises the Trossachs' unrivalled cultural heritage in Scotland. She was saved for the nation by incredible public support, and today she sails on, restored, celebrated, and loved. "As we mark 125 years, we do so with gratitude and pride. We invite everyone to join us at Loch Katrine this weekend to celebrate a remarkable past and a bright future for this Scottish treasure." The Steamboat Festival runs across the weekend, with Steamship Sir Walter Scott sailing three times a day in her anniversary year until October 26th.
