3 DC police cruisers struck, 4 officers injured in Northeast crash
WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Four officers were hurt after three Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) cruisers were struck on Wednesday.
DC man arrested in 14 alleged vehicle-related thefts
According to police, the crash occurred on 62nd and Dix Street Northeast, following a stolen vehicle pursuit in the area. A Mercedes with Virginia plates was stolen out of D.C. and hit three cruisers.
The four officers were taken to hospitals while conscious and breathing. One of the officers had their foot run over by the Mercedes, while two others were hurt after their cruisers were struck.
MPD is looking for two suspects.

String of store thefts led to chase in South Memphis; two in custody
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two suspects are in custody, and two more are on the run Thursday, after a string of convenience store thefts across the city led to a chase that ended in South Memphis. At 5:23 am, officers responded to a Shoplifting/Misdemeanor at 5075 Stage Road at Circle K. Officers were advised a man in all black came into the business and took cigarettes and $44 in nickels. He fled the scene in a burgundy or maroon Nissan sedan. At 5:56 am, officers responded to a Robbery call which resulted in becoming a Theft from a building at 1691 Poplar Avenue at Mapco. Two men in dark clothing came into the business and stole cash and cigarettes. They fled the scene in a burgundy or maroon Nissan sedan. At 9:47 am, officers responded to robbery at 2120 Frayser Blvd at Mapco. Four men in all black clothing entered the store. One of the men were armed with a gun. They stole cigarettes and fled the scene in a burgundy or maroon Nissan. At 10:26 am, officers responded to a business robbery at 1505 East Brooks Road. Three men in black clothing entered the business. They took cash and cigarettes and fled in a burgundy or maroon Nissan. At 10:31 am, officers responded to a business robbery at 2454 Elvis Presley Blvd. Three men in black clothing entered the business. Montgomery Blair High School students organize walkout to support deported classmate
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) – Students at Montgomery Blair High School say they're looking for justice for a classmate whom U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) took into custody. They walked out of class to send the message. 'It's a huge shock to the whole Blair community,' Montgomery Blair High School student Alex Gomez-Ordonez said. 'This is an outrage because why are you deporting students. The students have the right to stay. They're trying their best for their future to have an education, and it's very wrong for them to be deported.' Students marched on the bus loop in front of the school for nearly an hour, chanting and holding signs. 'Even though it was just one person,' Montgomery Blair High School student Elaneth Camilo said, 'I feel like we should all get together and try to help out as much as we can and spread awareness.' Camilo says being part of the protest was extremely important for her. 'I have family that is not from here and they've worked so hard to get over here,' she said, 'I think that it would just be a shame if they all just got deported after all their hard work and everything that they have sacrificed and gone through.' Several community members were also at the demonstration. 'We're supposed to have due process in this country, right?' Sue Wheaton said. 'For everybody. So, I think what's going on in this country now is inhumane and cruel, and against American values.' According to the Washington Post, the student was arrested off school property. Stafford County deputies investigate series of car break-ins
STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — The Stafford County Sheriff's Office is investigating a series of car break-ins that occurred Wednesday in various neighborhoods. Deputies received numerous calls shortly before 4 a.m. regarding car break-ins and tampering across neighborhoods near Richmond Highway including: the Potomac Hills Subdivision, the Stone River Subdivision, the Clearview Mobile Home Park, and the Potomac Village Subdivision.
