If you cast your mind back to last year's Met Gala, you might remember that pop star Katy Perry went seriously viral for her A+ interpretation of the Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion theme and 'Garden of Time' dress code.

In fact, everybody agreed at the time that Katy had one of the best looks of the evening, with photos circulating of the star posing on the red carpet in a stunning gown embellished with flowers, butterflies, and an attention-grabbing moss trim.
There was just one major problem: Katy didn't actually attend last year's Met Gala, and the viral image was completely AI-generated.
However, the thousands of people who fell for the hoax didn't have to feel too bad about it, with Katy revealing at the time that her own mom had believed that the photo was real.
Taking to her Instagram account, the star shared a screenshot of her and her mom's text conversation about the situation, where her mom had written: 'Ha Feather! Didn't know you went to the Met 💥 💥 💥 What a gorgeous gown, you look like the Rose Parade, you are your own float lol,' to which Katy replied: 'lol mom the AI got you too, BEWARE!'
Fast-forward a year and, somehow, history repeated itself when an AI-generated image of Katy at last night's gala went viral. This time, one widely circulated tweet even included a wild claim that Katy was wearing a brand-new type of fabric.

Sharing the fake photos, a self-proclaimed 'parody account' on X wrote: 'Katy Perry's dress at the #MetGala2025 features never-before-seen, custom-made fabric by Mugler. 'Lustratex®, a cutting-edge fusion of liquid vinyl and adaptive smart polymers, was innovated in secret textile labs across Paris & Seoul', VOGUE reports.'
This tweet was seen over 400k times and has thousands of likes, replies, and retweets at the time of writing. Adding extra validation to their made-up claims, the same user than shared a fake sketch of Katy's outfit alongside the caption: 'MUGLER shares the official project of stunning Katy Perry's #MetGala outfit.'
Needless to say, once again, thousands of social media users blindly believed the photos, with many praising the star for her look and even reposting the red carpet images with credit to the reputable photo agency Getty Images.
And early this morning, Katy debunked the photos on her social media page, sharing the AI images, fake sketch, and a series of funny social media posts about the incident as she wrote: 'couldn't make it to the MET, I'm on The Lifetimes Tour (see you in Houston tomorrow IRL‼️)'
Unlike last year, however, Katy went on to confirm that her mom was not fooled a second time around, writing: 'P.s. this year I was actually with my mom so she's safe from the bots but I'm praying for the rest of y'all.'
Katy even included a screenshot of a text that she received from her mom this year, which was a link to the fake photo alongside the message: 'Crystal just sent this 🤣'

Madonna Announces A New Album Dropping Next Month
Madonna announces Veronica Electronica, a remix album of Ray of Light era tracks, arriving July 25 ... More and led by 'Skin (The Collaboration Remix Edit).' NEW YORK, NEW YORK - MAY 05: Madonna attends the 2025 Met Gala Celebrating "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" at Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 05, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Kevin Mazur/MG25/Getty Images for The Met Museum/Vogue) For several months now, Madonna has been teasing the next chapter of her musical career. The superstar revealed on social media not long ago that she's working on a follow-up to her album Confessions on a Dance Floor, which she is currently referring to as Confessions 2. There's no word yet on when fans will get to hear anything from that project. But they won't have to wait long before they can listen to new tunes from the icon, as she has announced a completely separate full-length that's set to arrive in only a few weeks. Madonna has announced a new album titled Veronica Electronica. The full-length remix set is expected to drop on July 25. The first tune from the project, "Skin (The Collaboration Remix Edit)," was shared at the time of the announcement. Veronica Electronica features seven previously unreleased and rare remixes of songs from her album Ray of Light. The tracklist includes smashes like "Frozen," "Nothing Really Matters," and, of course, the title track, as well as several other cuts. Fans who pick up a copy of the album will also be treated to a never-before-shared demo of the song "Gone, Gone, Gone," which wasn't originally featured on Ray of Light. According to a press release announcing Veronica Electronica, the album was apparently conceived back in 1998 during her Ray of Light era. When the full-length took off and became hugely successful—perhaps more so than some in her camp were expecting—the remixes were put aside and never revisited until now, more than a quarter-century later. It's now been almost six years since Madonna released a new studio full-length. Madame X, her fourteenth project, dropped in the summer of 2019. The Grammy winner has reportedly already played Confessions 2 for some people, but when it comes to the general public, she's remaining quiet about the set. Madonna is also currently busy prepping a Netflix miniseries about her life, which was once meant to be a feature-length film, but which appears to have shifted mediums, perhaps in order to fit more story in.

What Saquon Barkley's retirement talk means for the Eagles
Saquon Barkley has had a whirlwind offseason following the Eagles' Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs in February. Philadelphia's All-Pro running back made waves for a golf outing with President Trump, attended the MET GALA, and served fans cheesesteaks at Geno's after landing the cover of Madden NFL 26. Barkley is loving life, but a recent interview has some Eagles fans nervous about the future. During the most recent edition of the 'Green Light with Chris Long,' Barkley hinted at a looming retirement. 'That's a great question. I'll probably be one of those guys that it would be out of nowhere. I would probably just wake up one day, whether it's next year or two years or four years, and just be like, 'Yeah, it's over.'' Advertisement Barkley then referenced the legendary Barry Sanders, who walked away from the Detroit Lions and peacefully left millions on the table with his decision. 'One of my favorite players of all time, probably my favorite player of all time, is Barry Sanders, so probably similar to that. Maybe one day it will be out of nowhere. I'll probably be ballin' and just be like, 'Yeah,' and call it quits.' Barkley could just be talking and experiencing the varied emotions of an all-time great season and his mortality as a legendary running back who doesn't want to exit the game with a down year or multiple injuries. With Philadelphia five days from a mandatory minicamp, we're examining how Barkley's comments will impact the Eagles. Mandatory Credit: Eric Hartline-Imagn Images Barkley's 2024 workload Likely still experiencing some fatigue, Barkley could spend the summer and training camp in bubble wrap after 482 total touches during the 17-game regular season and four-game jaunt to a Super Bowl. According to The Athletic, of the 11 running backs since 2000 with 400+ carries in a single season, none have finished inside the top 15 the following season. That list includes Derrick Henry, Jamal Lewis, and Shaun Alexander. Philadelphia signed A.J. Dillon in free agency, and Will Shipley is a talented dual-threat. With 13 picks in the 2026 NFL draft, the Eagles could add another rusher next year. Barry Sanders affect Sanders rushed for 2,053 yards in 1997, and then the Lions running back only played one more season before walking away. An Eagles repeat could set the table for Barkley to exit stage left, or the running back could play out the deal, ensuring ten years in the NFL. Financial implications Barkley led the charge for running backs to be paid more, and the Eagles running back reset the market entirely, becoming the highest-paid ball carrier in NFL history. Advertisement According to Adam Schefter, the two-year, $41.2 million deal makes Barkley the NFL's first $20+ million a year running back and the highest paid at the position in league history. According to Over The Cap, the extension creates $1,332,000 in salary cap space. Timetable As long as Barkley maintains his elite status, he'll be around until 2027 at the earliest. Barkley's salary isn't guaranteed for 2028, and he has a void year established for 2029 when he'll be 32 years old and count $31 million against the salary cap. The new contract is fully guaranteed for $36 million at the time of signing. The full guarantee includes Barkley's 2025 and 2026 salaries, workout bonuses, and option bonuses. $2.5 million is guaranteed in 2027. Another $15 million in incentives is available. Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber at "Breaking Point" due to "Jealousy"
Think we can all agree that May was a huge month for Hailey Bieber thanks to landing her first solo Vogue cover, launching Rhode in Sephora, and selling the company to e.l.f. Like, there's a lot to celebrate! But according to sources in The Sun (who should be taken with a grain of salt!), Justin is having some jealousy issues when it comes to Hailey's success. In fact, things are allegedly at the "breaking point" and tension is at an "an all-time high" due to Justin being "jealous" and "obsessed with being the dominant figure in their relationship." The source, who is a "friend and confidant," adds that that Hailey's recent success "feels like a blow to his ego" and that "he cannot stand the idea of being the 'number two' in their relationship now." They also note that "it's disappointing to see him act like this." This report comes amid Justin admitting in a since-edited post that he never thought Hailey would land a Vogue cover, and told her as much. "Yo this reminds me when Hailey and I got into a huge fight," he wrote before changing the caption. "I told hails that she would never be on the cover of vogue. Yikes I know, so mean. For some reason because I felt so disrespected. I thought I gotta get even. I think as we mature we realize that we're not helping anything by getting even. we're honestly just prolonging what we really want which is intimacy and connection. So baby u already know but forgive me for saying u wouldn't get a vogue cover cuz clearly i was sadly mistaken." Meanwhile this week, the "Baby" singer hopped on Instagram to question an unnamed person's loyalty, writing "'LOYALTY' is manipulative language. Loyalty is duty, it's an obligation. THATS NOT FREE WILL. Love is NOT a duty. LOVE IS A DELIGHT. Please stop using loyalty to keep people around you out of your own fear its hurting us. Mafia members use loyalty to keep people in their gangs. Lets not perpetuate this manipulative language. LOVE OVER LOYALTY FOREVER." For what it's worth, Hailey has been liking several of Justin's recent Insta posts, so all seems fine!
