For over 30 years, Ali Bakhtiar Designs has defined luxury on a global scale. Founded by the visionary Ali Behnam Bakhtiar, the brand has evolved from an exclusive interior design studio into a world-renowned name in couture weddings, bespoke events, and refined residential design. At its heart lies a singular philosophy: beauty is an experience, not just an aesthetic.
Ali's design journey began in the world of private estates and palatial retreats, where he brought emotion and elegance into every architectural line. His work quickly captured the attention of royalty, dignitaries, and global tastemakers, thanks to his rare ability to marry structure with soul.
Naturally, this creative ethos led him to the world of immersive event design. Ali became a pioneer in transforming venues into dreamlike environments—introducing elements like soaring draped ceilings, architectural installations, and full-scale transformations long before they became industry trends. Dubbed the 'King of Weddings' in Dubai, his iconic creations include a winter Persian garden set within royal palace grounds, a monumental Chinese structure rising from the desert, and a futuristic opera stage inspired by Beijing's grand halls.
With offices in Dubai, France, Turkey, Switzerland, and Slovenia, Ali Bakhtiar Designs remains at the forefront of global design. Every project—whether an intimate celebration or a landmark estate—is executed with precision, passion, and poetic flair.
While the brand is known for its high-profile projects, its mission is to create meaningful, beautiful experiences for all who seek exceptional design. From private homes to once-in-a-lifetime celebrations, Ali and his team bring a sense of magic to everything they touch.
Equally devoted to philanthropy, Ali supports cultural and educational initiatives across the regions that inspire his work. His legacy continues to grow—not just through breathtaking spaces, but through the lives and stories his designs help illuminate.

'Wine Olympics' returns to China as international expo opens

The opening ceremony of the Fifth China (Ningxia) International Wine Culture and Tourism Expo in Yinchuan, northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. (Xinhua/Wang Peng) YINCHUAN, CHINA – Media OutReach Newswire – 11 June 2025 – The Fifth China (Ningxia) International Wine Culture and Tourism Expo opened Monday in Yinchuan, capital of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, with the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB) — dubbed the 'Wine Olympics' — returning to China after seven years. The four-day event has attracted over 1,100 domestic and international guests, featuring 14 activities such as a winery and wine exhibition, an innovation competition, and an art biennial. Making its China debut in 2018 in Beijing, the CMB has this year brought together nearly 400 international judges and over 7,000 wine samples, including a record number of entries from China, according to CMB Chairman Baudouin Havaux. ADVERTISEMENT 'This event opens a new era for the global visibility of the Chinese wine industry,' Havaux said. He added that it is no coincidence the 32nd edition of the CMB is being held in Yinchuan, as it clearly reflects the growing strength of Chinese wine, especially that of Ningxia. After four decades of development, Ningxia has become China's largest wine-producing region. The eastern foot of Helan Mountain is widely regarded as a 'golden zone' for grape growing and high-end wine production. By the end of 2024, Ningxia had more than 600,000 mu (around 40,000 hectares) of wine grape plantations and an annual wine output of 140 million bottles. Its wines are exported to over 40 countries and regions. China extends visa-free entry to four GCC countries

Post Views: 35 China has launched a trial policy granting unilateral visa-free entry to citizens of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain, expanding its visa-free access list to 47 countries, as per the recent report. Effective until June 8, 2026, the policy allows ordinary passport holders from these four Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to enter China visa-free for up to 30 days for business, tourism, family visits, cultural exchange, and transit. The policy has been warmly received across the Gulf region and is expected to enhance bilateral exchanges, strengthen cultural and people-to-people ties, and drive broader cooperation between China and the GCC. Currently, around 20 direct flights operate weekly between key Chinese cities—including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen—and Saudi cities like Riyadh and Jeddah. The UAE is connected to 13 cities across mainland China through direct flights. This expansion marks a significant step in building economic and cultural relations between China and the Gulf states.
