Amid chants of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and "Hindustan Zindabad", distressed passengers from Iran stepped onto home soil, ANI reported.
About the conditions in Iran, Tazkiya Fatima, a resident of Noida, said, "There is a situation of war over there. We were not sure how we would make it out of there, but the Government of India made the whole process very smooth. I am very thankful to the Indian government," she said.

Another evacuee, Eliya Batool, was overcome with emotion and said she felt at ease after returning to India.
I am unable to express what I am feeling right now. My family was very worried. In Iran, we were at ease; we were provided with a 5-star hotel and safety was provided to us. But after coming here, we feel at ease. Thank you so much, Indian government. We did not face any issues there because our Embassy made everything easy for us
Maulana Mohammad Saeed Saeed also praised the swift and safe evacuation. He said, "We are happy and grateful that we have been able to return home safe and sound. The situation in Iran is no good and we all know. Indian Embassy and our Ambassador made the evacuation process very smooth and safe." Sehrish Rafique, an MBBS student at Iran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, highlighted how the situation escalated rapidly. "The situation in Iran was quite devastating. At first, we didn't expect that it would escalate so much. At first, I couldn't believe the Indian Embassy would make so many efforts for us. All Kashmiris are really thankful to the Indian government," she said.

Mir Mohammad Musharraf, from Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama, also praised the efforts of the Indian government, saying, "I am from Pulwama, Kashmir. Operation Sindhu is amazing and really helpful. The services were very good. We contacted our embassy. We were stuck in Tehran, unaware of what to do. Our landlords also left and were left behind. It was only our embassy that helped us reach here. The third flight carrying 290 Indian nationals from Iran, as part of Operation Sindhu, has landed. 190 out of them are from J&K, others are from Delhi, Haryana, Karnataka, West Bengal, and other states, Arun Kumar Chatterjee, Secretary (CPV & OIA), Ministry of External Affairs, said.
The special flight landed at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport late Friday night, as part of Operation Sindhu, India's ongoing mission to evacuate citizens amid the escalating Israel-Iran conflict.

(AI image) India is readying a plan to reduce its acute dependence on China for rare earth minerals. The move comes at a time when China has imposed export curbs on rare earths and Indian industry has raised alarm bells on shortage of magnets and other components. India is looking at a Rs 3,500-Rs 5,000 crore scheme to promote the production of rare earth minerals and derived magnets domestically, with approval expected within two weeks, according to a senior government official. "The priority is to start domestic-critical mineral production in the shortest time period," the official told ET. China dominates global supply of rare earth magnets and has implemented export restrictions. These essential minerals, vital for manufacturing automobiles, electric vehicles (EVs) and renewable energy infrastructure, face supply constraints. The incentives in India's proposed programme will be distributed through a reverse bidding mechanism. This initiative follows an internal ministerial assessment that highlighted the necessity to diversify supply sources, given the substantial reliance on imports from China. India's Rare Earth Requirements The automotive sector has highlighted concerns about Chinese restrictions and requested governmental assistance. In April, Beijing introduced mandatory special export licences for seven rare earth elements and associated magnets. In India, manufacturers of EVs and wind turbines represent the primary consumers of rare earth elements, accounting for more than 50% of the projected domestic demand of 4010 metric tonnes in 2025. The overall requirement is anticipated to reach 8220 metric tonnes by 2030. Saffron flag should replace Tricolour: BJP leader
Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national executive member N. Sivarajan kicked up a controversy by demanding that the party's saffron flag be made Indian national flag in place of the Tricolour. Mr. Sivarajan made the controversial remarks at a protest organised by the BJP in connection with the Bharat Mata issue here on Saturday. He said that the Congress should use green flag and its national president Sonia Gandhi and her son, Rahul Gandhi, whom he said were ignorant of Indian history, should use the Italian flag. Mr. Sivarajan said that the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] could use the green and white flag, and the saffron flag of the BJP should be made the Indian flag. Targets Sivankutty The BJP leader also targeted General Education Minister V. Sivankutty, derisively calling him 'Savamkutty.' He also demanded that political parties be banned from using flags similar to the national flag. Mr. Sivarajan, who is currently a municipal councillor of the BJP, made floral tributes to a photo of Bharat Mata holding the saffron flag at Fort Maidan here. The Congress took out a protest against the BJP leader for insulting the national flag. The Congress demanded that sedition charges be slapped on Mr. Sivarajan for insulting the Tricolour. District Congress Committee president A. Thankappan inaugurated the protest. Files plaint Congress district vice-president Sumesh Achuthan filed a complaint to the District Police Chief seeking stringent action against Mr. Sivarajan for insulting the national flag under the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act of 1971. BJP leader and former Union Minister V. Muraleedharan, however, refused to respond to Mr. Sivarajan's comments about the national flag.
