As Blackpink gets ready for the launch of their fourth concert tour, Lisa is teasing new music from the group.
'Actually, we were in the studio a few days ago,' she told me Saturday morning while promoting her new Bose open earbuds collaboration. 'We're all so super excited to get back together and go on tour. We really miss the blinks. We can't wait to see them.'
More from Variety
The K-pop stars kick off the tour July 5 at Goyang Stadium in South Korea and will wrap up Jan. 18, 2026, at the Tokyo Dome in Japan. U.S. stops include Los Angeles, New York and Chicago.
While speculation has been in overdrive about the possible release of a new album coinciding with the tour, Lisa confirms the wait may soon be coming to an end. 'You have to be patient about it,' Lisa said. 'It's coming soon, I promise. It's about time.'
How did the Bose collaboration come about?
I've been using the earbuds for a long time, and I really like the product, so when this came to me, I was like, 'Yes! I would love to do a collab.' I wanted something super unique. But we took our time to choose the right color, the logo and everything.
Are you able to hold onto your earbuds, or are you like me and lose them all the time?
These earbuds are great because they really stay on. I spend so much time, so many hours on a plane. I put them on and I fall asleep, but when I wake up, they're still there.
Is there another collaboration you'd love to do?
Speakers and headphones. Bose would be great for that.
What about a collaboration with Labubu? [Lisa is largely credited for starting the Labubu craze after being seen with a big plush of the collectible toy, as well as the smaller bag chain.]
I can't stop talking about Labubus. I've been going crazy for them for almost a year, but now I can't really get new Labubus. They're really hard to find. I'm kind of sad.
How many do you have?
For the latest collection, I only got three or four. I want the whole box, but it's really hard to get.
How about a Lisa Labubu?
That would be a lot of fun. It would blow up the internet.
Let's talk 'The White Lotus.' Do you think Mook and Gaitok are still together?
I don't know because he went to Bangkok. It would have to be long distance, so we'd have to figure it out.
Where do you think Mook is today?
She recently went to Coachella [laughs]. I don't think she's going to stay on the island. I think she is somehow going to make it to Bangkok.
Have you spoken to Mike White about being on the next season?
People want to see more of a Mook. I would love to if I had the chance, but I don't want to pressure anyone.
Who would you love to get into the studio with next?
I really want to try EDM, so maybe I could work with some DJs.

Timbaland Announces Work With AI Artist, Sparking Criticism

Source: Prince Williams / Getty Veteran producer and artist Timbaland is now working with artificial intelligence, announcing that he'll also be working with a new AI artist as part of a venture with an AI company. But the news has caused some backlash. Timbaland has launched Stage Zero, an AI-focused entertainment company, which he claims has signed the first-ever AI artist named TaTa. 'I'm not just producing tracks anymore. I'm producing systems, stories, and stars from scratch,' Timbaland said in an interview with Billboard. '[TaTa] is not an avatar. She is not a character. TaTa is a living, learning, autonomous music artist built with AI. TaTa is the start of something bigger. She's the first artist of a new generation. A-Pop is the next cultural evolution, and TaTa is its first icon.' He and Stage Zero released an image of 'TaTa,' depicted as a young, pink-haired woman. The venture is what the artist hopes will be a new genre of music called 'A-pop,' reflecting his work with Suno, a company that has reportedly used millions of copyrighted songs to train its AI engine. In an interview with Rolling Stone , he's reportedly created 50,000 songs from working with Suno, saying: 'The technology of today is perfect for what this is. What used to take me three months only takes me two days. In the beginning, it was like a toy. It was like going to a toy store. You gotta go through gluttony, because you can't believe that it's here.' The Grammy-winning producer's stance has earned him some backlash from fans and others in the music industry, notably from producer Young Guru who blasted him on his Instagram page. 'I'm going to say it again,' Young Guru wrote. 'I swear I love you bro but this ain't it. Do you not realize what is going on in the world. Your voice is powerful and way too important to do anything like this. I have students who worship you. They are going to say 'if Tim can do it, then it is ok for me to do it.' These are the times, right here, that history is defined .. Human expression can never be reduced to this!!! This is way bigger than music!!! I say this all in love.' Doechii Calls Out Donald Trump's "Ruthless" Immigration Policies in BET Awards Speech

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." Doechii used her BET Awards acceptance speech to call out President Donald Trump and his aggressive immigration policies, those which have led to massive protests across the country, and particularly in Los Angeles. Last night at the BET Awards in L.A., the 'Denial Is a River' rapper—dressed in a bright-red Miu Miu set—took home the prize for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. After noting how 'honored' she was for the recognition, she pivoted to 'address what's happening right now outside of the building.' Just down the street from the award show, protestors had shut down streets to stand up against the Trump administration's immigration raids, mass deportations, and ongoing attack on migrants. In response to the uproar, Trump called in the National Guard—2,000 of them. 'There are ruthless attacks that are creating fear and chaos in our communities in the name of law and order,' Doechii said. 'Trump is using military forces to stop a protest, and I want y'all to consider what kind of government it appears to be when every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us.' 'What type of government is that?' she asked. Los Angeles's population is famously varied due to its close proximity to Mexico. According to the 2024 U.S. Census, 33 percent of Angelenos were born outside of the United States. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has called for Trump to halt the raids in the city. 'I can't emphasize enough the level of fear and terror that is in Angelenos right now, not knowing if tomorrow or tonight it might be where they live, it might be their workplace, should you send your kids to school, should you go to work,' she said. California Gov. Gavin Newsom, meanwhile, is suing the Trump administration for its 'illegal takeover' of the California National Guard, which the Democratic leader notes has 'escalated chaos and violence in L.A.'
