Arthur, the NYC carriage horse who famously crashed into two cars, has died after happy retirement

New York Post08-05-2025

All horses go to heaven.
A New York City carriage horse that made headlines and spurred debate after bolting and crashing into two cars, has met a sad but peaceful end after an idyllic retirement on a sprawling farm in the Hamptons.
In February 2018, a large gray draft horse named Arthur was spooked by a man yelling and opening an umbrella in Central Park. He ran off, carrying three Texas tourists in his carriage, and crashed into two parked cars.

9 In February 2018, The Post reported on a carriage horse named Arthur that was spooked in Central Park, ran off and crashed into two cars.
9 Arthur's carriage was crumpled in the incident, and his three passengers had minor injuries.

The incident left the passengers with minor injuries, the carriage crumpled and the cars with significant damage. Arthur, meanwhile, became something of a poster pony for animal activists and was whisked away to a horse sanctuary in Massachusetts.

At the time, it was reported that a number of organizations and private citizens, including comedian Whitney Cummings, had expressed interest in adopting Arthur, but then the horse quietly trotted away from the spotlight.
The Post can now exclusively report that Arthur was eventually adopted by Sabrina Rudin, a West Village restaurateur who took an interest in him after reading about his plight in this paper.
'I had always wanted to rescue a carriage horse … and something about him struck me,' said Rudin, 39, a native New Yorker who owns Spring Cafe Aspen in Greenwich Village and Aspen, Colo.
She said the adoption process was 'complicated' because of the media attention around Arthur and political debate over carriage horses, but she persisted. In May 2018, his owners released him to Rudin.

'I was very clear that I just wanted to very privately bring him home … and give him a different kind of life,' said Rudin.
Finding a stable large enough for Arthur, a towering Percheron gelding, proved challenging. But Rudin found a home for him at Swan Creek Farms in Bridgehampton. The barn's owners, Jagger and Mandy Topping, were able to combine two stalls to make a large enough home for Arthur.

'They helped me give him a really beautiful life,' said Rudin, who grew up riding horses. 'The first few times he saw grass, he was so excited, he was really happy, you could tell that he was really happy to be free.'
In his first few months at Swan Creek, Arthur, a shy, gentle giant, struggled to make friends with any of the horses.
Then, Mandy called Rudin one day with some surprising news: Arthur had become chummy with the barn's miniature donkey, Jingles. Despite their noticeable height difference, the two were inseparable.

'I was just cracking up laughing [when she told me],' Rudin recalled.
The two pals enjoyed years of frolicking in grassy pastures together, spending most of their days outside. Arthur never pulled a carriage again, nor was he ever ridden.
Rudin and her three young sons, ages 3 to 9, visited him often, showering him with carrots, apples and oat horse cookies.
'He was amazing with the boys,' she said. 'And it was a way to sort of teach them in a really nice, gentle way about something we can do for animals,'

A few weeks ago, it was discovered that Arthur, who was estimated to be about 18 years old, had lymphoma and had a large mass in his rectum.
He deteriorated rapidly at the Cornell Ruffian equine hospital in Elmont, NY, and couldn't go back to Swan Creek to see his friend a final time.
So, last Sunday, the Toppings transported Jingles to the hospital to say goodbye.

9 After it was discovered that Arthur had lymphoma, Rudin made the difficult decision to put him down. But first, Jingles had to say goodbye to his friend.

'They had this very emotional reunion … Arthur could hear him coming down the hall, and Jingles was hee-hawing for him,' Rudin said. 'They spent the whole last morning together.'
On Monday, Rudin cradled Arthur's head, whispered her love to him and cried as he went to sleep a final time. She asked the dying horse to send her a sign that he'd made it to the other side OK.
The next day, one of Mandy's other clients randomly sent her an old photo of her daughter standing with a carriage horse that looked like Arthur. The year was 2018.

9 Rudin bid an emotional goodbye to Arthur on Monday.
9 'It feels like yesterday that I saw the article about him,'she said.
Rudin doesn't believe it was actually a photo of Arthur, but she does think it was him sending her a sign that he was ok.

'I do believe that wherever he is, that was a wink from him that he was safe,' she said.
To be sharing his story with The Post, she said, is a 'full circle moment.'

These Broadway portraits were stolen from Sardi's restaurant

It's not easy being green. Of the nearly 1,000 celebrity caricatures on the walls of iconic theater-district institution Sardi's, the one pilfered the most, oddly, is Kermit the Frog. 'Kermit was stolen three times. And then we screwed him up to the wall,' Johnny Felidi, longtime maître d' at the 100-year-old eatery, told The Post ahead of Sunday's Tony Awards. Advertisement Another celebrity who had to be screwed at the beloved West 44th Street eatery: Barbra Streisand. After her original 1963 portrait was purloined, it took the 'Funny Girl' 55 years to agree to another caricature. 8 Kermit the Frog, who filmed a scene at Sardi's for 'The Muppets Take Manhattan,' had his caricature stolen three times. J.C. Rice Advertisement 'And you're gonna love what she wrote on it — 'Don't steal this one,'' said Felidi, who has worked at Sardi's for 26 years. 'Julie Andrews was another one that went missing for a long time and then it was allegedly found at an auction,' added receptionist Lydia DeLuca, who spent last summer updating the binder that lists every celeb's name and their location on three floors of the four-story restaurant. 8 Barbra Streisand also had her caricature taken off the wall, so she wrote 'Don't steal this one!' on her second portrait. Jeremy Wagner Bob Hope's was looted as well — and his thief, who was drinking at the bar, was captured on their security cameras. Advertisement 'So we got their credit card information, called them up . . . and of course they get belligerent. And we said, 'We don't want to have law enforcement involved, so just return the caricature.' And they did,' recalled Felidi, a native of Parma, Italy, who grew up in the Bronx. 8 Maître d Johnny Felidi has been at Sardi's for 26 years. J.C. Rice Due to all the star-snatching, the priceless portraits adorning the walls of Sardi's — where the idea for the Tonys was conceived over lunch — are now duplicates of the originals, which are stored in a safe. It wasn't until 1986, after the death of James Cagney, that founder Vincent Sardi decided to start using dupes. Advertisement 'The night he died, they stole his caricature, never to be seen again,' said Felidi. 8 George Clooney, who made his Broadway debut this year in 'Good Night, and Good Luck' had his Sardi's portrait unveiled in April. J.C. Rice The time-honored tradition started when Sardi hired Russian immigrant Alex Gard to create the portraits in the fledgling restaurant in exchange for meals in an attempt to 'drum up business.' Brooklyn native Richard Baratz, a former engraver for the treasury department, is now the artist behind the boldfaced names. 'That's why now you see tiny little lines in his work,' Felidi noted. 8 Denzel Washington, pictured here with his 'Othello' co-star Jake Gyllenhaal, had his Sardi's portrait revealed right before the Tony Awards. Getty Images This season, Baratz sketched the portraits of Broadway A-listers Nick Jonas, Jake Gyllenhaal, Denzel Washington and George Clooney — nominated for a Tony for his debut on the Great White Way in 'Good Night, and Good Luck.' Legendary composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, who has six Tonys and is nominated for another for 'Sunset Boulevard,' also went up this year, after a decade-long wait. Advertisement 'We've had his caricature ready and drawn. It was scheduling conflicts and so we never had our paths crossed enough to do it until recently,' DeLuca explained. 8 Sardi's receptionist Lydia DeLuca spent last summer updating the binder that contains every celeb's name and their portrait's location. J.C. Rice To make room for the newcomers, current owner Max Klimavicius chooses which ones to remove and puts them into their storage facility, which contains around 500 portraits. About 230 others have been donated to the New York Public Library. Many of the famous faces are purposefully placed — and celebrity couples such as Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson and Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward are nestled side by side. Advertisement 'We have Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster together — they're dating,' Felidi said of Broadway's newest it couple. 'When Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith got divorced, we separated them. We have Richard Burton up there, we have Liz Taylor down here so they don't fight.' When Tony Danza starred in 'Chicago,' he got his portrait done — but only agreed to it under one condition. 'He said, 'Please put me next to Sammy Davis Jr. And never take me away.'' Advertisement 8 Celebrity couples, like Sutton Foster and Hugh Jackman, are placed side by side. J.C. Rice Two former employees — who worked at Sardi's before they got famous — also had their images drawn. 'Martin Sheen worked here as a busboy in the 1960s,' Felidi said, pointing to the image of Sheen on the back wall of the first-floor dining room. However, Chevy Chase, who worked there as a doorman in the '70s, still hasn't gotten his hung. Advertisement 8 Sardi's, located at 234 West 44th Street, opened in 1927. J.C. Rice 'Every time he comes here he goes, 'Where's my caricature?' And I tell him, 'Chevy, it's in the office, we're waiting for you to sign it.' And he says, 'Okay, after I finish my meal, I'm gonna sign it.' And he always forgets.'

Inside Joyce Mitchell's bleak, reclusive life in upstate New York, where her name remains in the gutter 10 years after infamous escape from Dannemora

There's been no redemption for the Shawskank. New photos show Joyce Mitchell living a bleak, reclusive life in upstate New York nearly 10 years to the day after she helped her alleged lovers — convicted killers Richard Matt and David Sweat — escape from Clinton maximum-security prison in Dannemora, NY. Neighbors in sleepy Dickinson told The Post they rarely see the disgraced 61-year-old or her head-scratchingly devoted husband, Lyle — whose names remain tainted across the North Country a decade after the jailbreak and 23-day manhunt captivated the nation and spawned a Hollywood miniseries. Advertisement 8 A new photo shows Joyce Mitchell nearly 10 years to the day after she helped Richard Matt and David Sweat escape from Clinton Correctional Facility. LP Media 'She is not regarded well around here,' said Connie Paquin, the owner of Mo's Bar and Grill in Malone, 18 miles north of the Mitchell's rural, two-story home. 'Nobody can really believe what she did,' said Paquin. 'Everybody around here thinks she really should have got more time than she got.' Advertisement Joyce Mitchell was a supervisor in the prison tailor shop when she began 'flirtatious' relationships with both Matt and Sweat, who were meticulously hatching an escape not unlike the fictitious one in 1994's 'The Shawshank Redemption.' As the flings progressed, the dowdy seamstress gave Matt oral sex and passed along nude selfies for Sweat, she later confessed to authorities. Eventually she began helping the cons with their planned breakout, even smuggling in a hacksaw blade and drill bit concealed in hamburger meat. 8 The dowdy seamstress also gave Matt oral sex and passed along nude selfies for Sweat, she admitted in her confession. vmodica All the while, her husband worked as an industrial training supervisor in the same lockup. Advertisement After six months of planning and using the tools to cut through their steel cell walls and an 18-inch steam pipe in the facility's underbelly, the duo made their escape on June 6, 2015. They emerged from a manhole cover about 500 feet outside the prison walls around 11:50 p.m. Joyce Mitchell was supposed to be waiting for her daring boytoys in a car at a nearby intersection at midnight, ready to ride off into the sunset toward Mexico. But she never showed up. 8 Sweat (left) and Matt (right) used tools provided by Mitchell to break out of the prison on June 6, 2015. AP Advertisement Instead, she went to the hospital in the throes of a panic attack. The two inmates skulked around the neighborhood until about 12:20 a.m. Realizing she had backed out, they took off. The escape, and Joyce's romantic role in it, made national headlines, and Joyce was dubbed 'Shawskank.' Then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo rushed to the prison, where he was photographed peering into the manhole. The subsequent, 23-day manhunt riveted the nation, with 1,500 law enforcement officers, at a cost of $1 million-per-day, scouring the deep woods of the North Country for the desperate fugitives. But they were elusive, trudging through dense forests and swamps, and setting up makeshift campsites when they weren't squatting in empty hunting cabins. In one, they picked up a 20-gauge shotgun, rum, boots, binoculars, maps and other supplies. 8 The escape, and Joyce's romantic role in it, made national headlines. REUTERS The duo finally split up on June 23. Three days later, Matt was cornered by border patrol agents near Lake Titus. When he ignored commands to surrender, he was shot dead. On June 28, Sweat was spotted by a State Trooper near Constable. When he tried to run, the sergeant fired two rounds, hitting Sweat in the left arm and right shoulder before he was recaptured. Advertisement Joyce was arrested June 12 – less than a week after the jailbreak. She pleaded guilty in September 2015 to promoting prison contraband and criminal facilitation, and was sentenced to two-and-a-half to seven years. She was released after less than five years spent at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in Westchester County. 8 A family photo Joyce posted on Facebook in August 2023 show the couple posing alongside six other adults and a little girl, grinning in the woods. Joyce Mitchell/ Facebook In the years since, Joyce has put up a happy front on Facebook, where she uses her old nickname Tillie — just like her character played by Patricia Arquette in Ben Stiller's mini-series 'Escape at Dannemora.' Seemingly serene family photos of Joyce and Lyle posted in August 2023 show the couple posing alongside six other adults and a little girl in the woods. Advertisement Another Facebook snap shows the youngster, believed to be the couple's granddaughter, lovingly wrapping her arms around a grumpy-looking Lyle. But away from social media, neighbors say the couple rarely poke their heads out from their gray, worn-down, two-story home, which is decorated with butterfly windchimes, a ceramic dog sculpture and other tchotchkes. A black Boston Terrier could be seen lazing inside a windowsill when The Post visited recently. 8 Another Facebook snap shows the youngster, who is believed to be the couple's granddaughter, lovingly wrapping her arms around a grumpy-looking Lyle. Joyce Mitchell/ Facebook It's unclear how the couple gets by financially. Joyce was fired and Lyle quit amid disciplinary actions. They both collect small state pensions, which were reduced because they left jobs long before their expected retirement dates. Advertisement 'Obviously she's not working in corrections. I don't think anyone would hire [either of] them around here,' said Ed Work, who serves as a warden at nearby Franklin Correctional. Lyle made $20,292 in 2024, while Joyce made only $8,775, according to public state pension records. Until a few years ago, Work said he used to spot Joyce headed to her monthly parole-officer meetings. 'I've seen her a few times going to parole and I've seen her once at the store since she's been out, but I haven't seen Lyle once,' he said. Advertisement 8 Lyle made $20,292 in 2024, according to public state pension records. Matthew Symons for NYP 'It's a close community, but no, they're not really involved,' he continued. At the Franklin prison, Work said correction officer trainees are taught Joyce's relationship with Matt and Sweat as an example of what not to do. 'You know, some prisoners might try to manipulate you, saying, 'You look nice today' and other stuff to get better treatment. But you can't let 'em get to you,' Work explained. 'Joyce isn't the prettiest girl in town, so I'm not sure what those guys were doing, but I guess you get pretty desperate in jail,' he added with a chuckle. One neighbor described the Mitchells as 'friendly' and helpful. Lyle has helped the neighbor, who gave his name as Jeff, clear his land. 'It's a lot of work clearing the lot, and that's what we talk about. Nothing personal,' said Jeff. As for Joyce, 'she waves when I see her coming out, but it's not that often.' 8 'Leave us alone. Get the f–k away from us and leave us alone,' Lyle barked at a Post reporter before slamming the door shut. Matthew Symons for NYP Despite the allegations against Joyce – which included a plot to kill Lyle, according to Sweat and investigators – Lyle welcomed his wife back with open arms. He is decidedly less tolerant of nosy journalists. 'Leave us alone. Get the f–k away from us and leave us alone,' he barked at a Post reporter before slamming the door shut. 'Stay the f–k away from us.'

Clooney, Denzel, Nicole, Patti: Inside Broadway's big off-stage drama ahead of the Tonys

There's never a shortage of drama on Broadway. However, this Tony season has taken things to a whole new level. And with records for both ticket prices and box-office grosses having been broken this year, there's more at stake than ever for Sunday's ceremony, which will be held at Radio City and air live on CBS starting at 8 p.m., as well as stream on Paramount+ and Showtime. Some huge-name stars (hello, Denzel Washington) are said to be hurting from snubs,. while others who are nominated — sorry, George Clooney — already know they won't win. 19 Three-time Tony winner Patti LuPone isn't even nominated for a Tony this year, but she's starred in some blockbuster drama, causing such a stir that 500 Broadway artists signed an open letter condemning her words. FilmMagic But even if you are an A-list Hollywood actor, 'Just because you're on stage does not entitle you to a Tony nomination. The disappointment quotient is higher [this year] and it makes it more interesting,' one Tonys insider told The Post. 'In years past, perhaps the caliber of nominees wasn't really as high or exciting. Competition wasn't as great as it is this year.' Nor were the off-stage theatrics. Three-time Tony winner Patti LuPone, never known for keeping her opinions to herself, isn't even nominated this year — but kicked off such a storm that 500 Broadway artists signed an open letter condemning her words. And that messy situation might even end up influencing voters in the heated category of Best Actress in a Musical. 19 'Sunset Boulevard' star Nicole Scherzinger, meanwhile, is a frontrunner to take home the Tony for Best Actress in a Musical. Mike Djordj / 19 Sources told The Post 'Gypsy' star Audra Mcdonald (left, in 'Mahogonny' in 2007 in Los Angeles) could garner sympathy from Tony voters after LuPone (right) bashed her as 'not a friend' to The New Yorker in May. Los Angeles Times via Getty Images The common expectation until recently was that Nicole Scherzinger, up for 'Sunset Boulevard,' had her Tony in the bag. But in the past two weeks, insiders have been buzzing about McDonald's momentum. That's because she's been in the headlines for reasons no star wants. It all began last year, when LuPone — who was co-starring with Mia Farrow in 'The Roommate' at the Booth Theatre on 45th Street — called in a noise complaint to Shubert Organization head Robert Wankel about 'Hell's Kitchen,' the Alicia Keys musical starring Kecia Lewis and playing at the Shubert Theatre on 44th, which shares a wall with the Booth. 19 'Othello' stars Denzel Washington (left) and Jake Gyllenhaal are said to be hurting from snubs. CJ Rivera/Invision/AP Lewis, speaking as one 'veteran' to another, posted an 'open letter' video in November, deeming LuPone's behavior 'bullying,' 'racially microaggressive,' and 'rooted in privilege' for calling 'a black show loud.' McDonald then showed support for Lewis on Instagram, which apparently annoyed LuPone, who she has shared the stage many times. 'That's typical of Audra. She's not a friend,' LuPone told the New Yorker in an interview, published in late May, that totally rocked the Broadway community. 19 LuPone complained about the neighboring show, 'Hell's Kitchen,' for being too noisy last year when she starred in 'The Roommate' at The Booth Theatre. AFP via Getty Images When the magazine's writer asked LuPone what she thought about McDonald as Mama Rose in 'Gypsy' — a role LuPone played in a 2008 revival — the actress sat quietly before changing the subject and replying, 'What a beautiful day.' She went on to trash Lewis, saying, 'She calls herself a veteran? Let's find out how many Broadway shows Kecia Lewis has done, because she doesn't know what the f–k she's talking about. 'She's done seven,' LuPone added of the 'Hell's Kitchen' star. 'I've done 31. Don't call yourself a vet, bitch.' 19 Following LuPone's complaint, 'Hell's Kitchen' star Kecia Lewis lashed out at her in an 'open letter' video posted in November, calling LuPone's behavior 'bullying' and 'rooted in privilege' for calling 'a black show loud.' Instagram / @therealkecialewis You could practically hear jaws hitting the stages all around Times Square. 'People are thinking that the New Yorker profile on Patti LuPone was akin to the [former FBI director James] Comey emails about Hillary Clinton,' the Tonys insider joked to The Post. It led to more than 500 Broadway artists, ranging from Tony winners like Wendell Pierce to wild cards like Courtney Love, putting their names to an open letter condemning LuPone. 19 LuPone trashed Kecia Lewis (above) in The New Yorker, saying, 'She calls herself a veteran? Let's find out how many Broadway shows Kecia Lewis has done, because she doesn't know what the f–k she's talking about.' Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions 19 McDonald (left) came to Lewis' defense on social media, putting her in LuPone's crosshairs. Los Angeles Times via Getty Images 'This language is not only degrading and misogynistic — it is a blatant act of racialized disrespect,' the letter said. 'It constitutes bullying. It constitutes harassment. It is emblematic of the microaggressions and abuse that people in this industry have endured for far too long, too often without consequence.' This led to an apology via social media by LuPone, who said, 'I regret my flippant and emotional responses during this interview.' 'She's [LuPone] a very outspoken person – no news flash there. It's certainly her fault for choosing her words incorrectly,' the Tonys insider said. 19 LuPone issued an apology on social media, saying she was 'deeply sorry for the words I used during The New Yorker interview, particularly about Kecia Lewis, which were demeaning and disrespectful.' 19 One Tony's insider told The Post of LuPone: 'She's a very outspoken person – no news flash there. It's certainly her fault for choosing her words incorrectly.' Getty Images for Disney Now, a Broadway source explained, the negative headlines might have the consequence of generating Tony voter sympathy for McDonald. 'Pre Patti LuPone drama, I would have said Nicole had [the Tony],' the Broadway source said. 'But after Patti went after Audra, people are saying it may help Audra in the long run.' Meanwhile, sources told The Post that McDonald, 54, was unhappy last month when she was unwittingly enlisted to present a Drama League award to 'Sunset Boulevard' star Nicole Scherzinger, who is up against McDonald at the Tonys. 19 George Clooney's 'Good Night, and Good Luck' set, then broke, a new record for the highest grossing week for a Broadway play, taking in more than $4.2 million in sales last week. Bruce Glikas/FilmMagic There were 51 actors up for the League's Distinguished Performance honor, meaning there was less than a 2% chance McDonald had to present to her rival. 'They've been pitted against each other the entire season. She [McDonald] felt uncomfortable doing it, but ultimately went about doing it,' the Broadway source told The Post. Playing Mama Rose — which the Tonys insider compared to 'the 'Hamlet' and 'King Lear' of musical theater roles combined' — apparently hasn't been easy for McDonald, who, sources say, has missed several performances of the grueling show due to exhaustion. 19 The other big earner has been 'Othello,' starring Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal, which made eyes water with box-office ticket prices that went above $900. Othello 'When Audra misses [a show] it's because she literally cannot perform — otherwise she'd be on that stage. It is Olympian,' the Tonys insider said, adding that Tony-nominated actors are 'doing the shows every night and by day they're campaigning.' Still, the Tonys insider pointed out one difference between McDonald and rival Scherzinger's 'Sunset Boulevard' run: 'Nicole has never missed a show.' Scherzinger, meanwhile, had her own mini-scandal when some accused her of being pro-MAGA after she commented on a photo of Russell Brand wearing a hat with the phrase 'Make Jesus First Again' — posting prayer hands and heart emoji and asking, 'Where do I get this hat?' 19 As for Best Actor in a Play, there is apparently no doubt that the 'Oh, Mary' phenomenon, Cole Escola, will walk away with the trophy.19 Escola, 38, wrote and has starred in 'Oh, Mary!' as Mary Todd Lincoln. AP The actress later said in a statement, 'I deeply apologize for the hurt caused by my recent engagement with some social media posts. When I commented on these posts, I made the mistake of not realizing that they could be easily interpreted as being politically related and I apologize to anyone who understandably reached that conclusion.' The Tonys insider called the whole thing nonsense, adding that Scherzinger is 'a devout Catholic. She's all about prayer. Nicole lives in her own world [and] she couldn't be further from the MAGA world. For her to get painted as MAGA is such BS.' As for Best Actor in a Play, there is apparently no doubt that the 'Oh, Mary' phenomenon, Cole Escola, will walk away with the trophy. In fact, sources said, it's such a sure thing that fellow nominee George Clooney, nominated for 'Good Night, and Good Luck,' threw in the towel a while ago. 19 Nicole Scherzinger had her own mini-scandal when some accused her of being pro-MAGA after she commented on a photo of Russell Brand wearing a hat with the phrase 'Make Jesus First Again.' Clooney's 'Good Night, and Good Luck' set, then broke, a new record for the highest grossing week for a Broadway play, taking in more than $4.2 million in sales last week. The other big earner has been 'Othello,' starring Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal, which made eyes water with box-office ticket prices that went above $900. (When The Post's Johnny Oleksinski wrote a column criticizing those prices, he was disinvited from reviewing the show but did so anyway by purchasing a ticket rather than relying on the comps typically given to reviewers.) 19 'Clooney was campaigning, but then realized Cole Escola has it in the bag, so he stopped,' the Tonys insider said. REUTERS Gyllenhaal and Washington, however, were not nominated for Tonys — a fact Washington's wife, Pauletta Washington, told reporters was due to 'narrow-minded people that are in charge of making decisions and judgements.' 'This is one of those great years where people who are giving Tony Award-caliber performances didn't even make the cut during nominations. And that's the way it should be,' the Tonys insider said. Another surprise snub was Kieran Culkin for his role in the revival of 'Glengarry Glen Ross.' But we're told the actor will host a Tonys after-party at Pebble Bar to celebrate his former 'Succession' co-star Sarah Snook, who is said to have a strong shot at winning Best Actress in a Play for portraying 26 characters in 'The Picture of Dorian Gray.' 19 Another surprise snub was Kieran Culkin for his role in the revival of 'Glengarry Glen Ross.' FilmMagic 19 We're told Culkin will host a Tonys after-party at Pebble Bar to celebrate his former 'Succession' co-star Sarah Snook, seen here. Marc Brenner As always, the hottest ticket in town is not the awards show itself, but power publicist Rick Miramontez's legendarily raucous and hard-to-get-into bash at The Carlyle. The Post is told the party will have a tighter, even more exclusive guest list this year And after the high drama of this season, everyone on Broadway might need a stiff drink or three. 'It's been a fun season but also a grueling season,' the Tonys insider said. 'Everyone will be in the mood to party.'
