Incredible footage of Scottie Scheffler's 'elite dad move' moments after PGA Championship win goes viral

Daily Mail19-05-2025

Scottie Scheffler was praised for an 'elite dad move' after cameras caught him multitasking with his baby son after winning the PGA Championship on Sunday.
The 28-year-old father of one was carrying his son, Bennett, as he prepared to do a press conference alongside Alex Noren.
And with the three-time major winner needing his son to be occupied for a bit during his media availability, he gave Bennett his hat and scorecard to play with after placing the tot on the floor.
Noren, who finished tied-17th in the tournament, could be seen chuckling afterwards as Scheffler sat down next to him.
And fans had plenty of positive feedback online too.
'Throwing the hat and book down as makeshift toys as you desperately try to buy 2 mins to do something important is an elite dad move,' one said on X.

'He's a hands-on dad. Can't fake that. Love to see it,' a second added.
'One of us,' a third said.
'And a fourth chimed in: 'Random household objects will get more play time from a child than any store purchased toy, parents know.'
The lighthearted moment came after Scheffler emotionally celebrated his PGA Championship win with his wife, Meredith, and Bennett.
The family-of-three embraced before Scheffler and Meredith shared a kiss.
Cameras also caught the golfer sharing a touching moment with his parents, as his father sweetly congratulated him.
'Words can't describe what we just watched,' his father could be heard saying on the CBS broadcast.
'You are the toughest guy, and the sweetest boy. I'm so proud of you. Thank you for never giving up, Scottie.'
Scheffler won by a comfortable five shots on Sunday at Quail Hollow to secure the first major title of his career away from Augusta National.
Earlier in the day, he found himself level with Jon Rahm after three bogeys on the front nine, but settled his nerves down the stretch to pull away.
'Finishing off a major championship is always difficult, and I did a good job of staying patient on the front nine,' he said on CBS afterwards.
'I didn't have my best stuff, but I kept myself in it, and I stepped up on the back nine and had a really good nine holes. That's about it.

EXCLUSIVE Donald Trump receives support from huge sporting ally over blistering Elon Musk feud

Donald Trump has received a welcome message of support from one his longstanding friends in the world of sport after his friendship with Elon Musk spectacularly exploded this week. Musk torched his relationship with the president in full view of the world on Thursday afternoon, claiming on X that Trump is named 'in the Epstein files' before saying he should be impeached and that his tariff policy will send the United States into recession.

EXCLUSIVE MAUREEN CALLAHAN: An insider has revealed the Royal verdict on THAT Meghan twerking video. It's so devastatingly cutting, she may never recover

It's the twerk seen round the world — and regrettably, there is no unseeing it. Truly: what's more royal, more regal — more befitting an American woman who married into her title and never lets us forget that she is a duchess — than releasing a home movie of yourself lifting up your dress, spreading your legs and gyrating while on the verge of giving birth?

McIlroy 'concerned' for US Open after driver issues

Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy says he is "concerned" by his form heading into the US Open next week after struggling with driver issues at the Canadian Open. The 36-year-old missed the cut at the Canadian Open on Friday, finishing nine over par and 149th in a 153-man Masters champion shot an eight-over-par 78 during his second round as he struggled to get to grips with a new previous driver was ruled non-conforming on the eve of last month's US PGA Championship, with the Northern Irishman going on to finish 47th in North Carolina. With a new 44-inch driver in hand, McIlroy found just 13 of 28 fairways in Toronto and he made a quadruple-bogey eight on the par-four fifth hole after a disastrous tee-off."Of course it concerns me," said McIlroy."You don't want to shoot high scores like the one I did today. I felt like I came here, obviously with a new driver, thinking that sort of was going to be good and solve some of the problems off the tee, but it didn't. "Obviously going to Oakmont next week, what you need to do more than anything else there is hit fairways. I'm still sort of searching for the missing piece off the tee. Obviously for me, when I get that part of the game clicking, then everything falls into place for me. Right now that isn't. Yeah, that's a concern going into next week." With play starting on 12 June, McIlroy has little time to iron out his issues from the the five-time Major winner says he will test several drivers in the coming days to find the right one. "I'm going to have to do a lot of practice and a lot of work over the weekend at home and try to at least have a better idea of where my game is going into next week," said McIlroy."I went back to a 44-inch driver this week to try to get something that was a little more in control and could try to get something a bit more in play. But if I'm going to miss fairways, I'd rather have the ball speed and miss the fairway than not."I'd say I'll be testing quite a few drivers over the weekend."
