'Housefull 5' Box Office collection day 5: Akshay Kumar's film mints over Rs 110 crore; earns Rs 10.75 crore on Tuesday

Akshay Kumar has returned to his much-loved comedy roots with 'Housefull 5', and the numbers are proving that fans are loving it. The film, directed by Tarun Mansukhani, opened in cinemas last Friday and features a star-studded cast including Nargis Fakhri, Abhishek Bachchan , Jacqueline Fernandez , Riteish Deshmukh and Soundarya Sharma . The movie had a strong opening weekend and entered the Rs 100 crore club in just four days of its release in India. Now, on Day 5, it continues to do well at the box office. Strong numbers despite midweek dip According to early estimates by 'Housefull 5' earned around Rs 10.75 crore on Tuesday, which marks its fifth day in theatres. This brings the total to an impressive Rs 111.25 crore in India. Here's how the daily collections look so far: Day 1 (Friday) – Rs 24 crore Day 2 (Saturday) – Rs 31 crore Day 3 (Sunday) – Rs 32.5 crore Day 4 (Monday) – Rs 13 crore Day 5 (Tuesday) – Rs 10.75 crore* Total – Rs 111.25 crore Occupancy on Day 5 On Tuesday, June 10, 'Housefull 5' recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 20.66% in theatres, with a noticeable rise in evening and night shows. Morning shows had 9.34% occupancy, which steadily increased to 20.50% in the afternoon, 22.65% in the evening, and peaked at 30.14% during night shows. About 'Housefull 5' The plot of 'Housefull 5' comes with a twist that's a bit different from the usual comedy storylines. This time, there's a murder on a cruise ship! A rich billionaire is killed just after he says he will leave his fortune to someone named Jolly. But here's the catch — there are three Jollys onboard. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Abhishek Bachchan all play characters named Jolly. To make things more confusing (and fun), their girlfriends are also suspects in the murder. This mix of mystery and madness has added a fresh spin to the franchise, keeping the audience guessing and laughing at the same time. Two different endings Another unique thing about 'Housefull 5' is that it was released with two different endings. That's right — there's 'Housefull 5A' and 'Housefull 5B'. Both versions are playing in cinemas at the same time, and viewers can choose which one they want to watch. Housefull 5 Races Past ₹100 Crore in 4 Days, Becomes Franchise's Fastest Grosser

UP Police's ‘Housefull 5'-inspired road safety post garners praise from Riteish Deshmukh

On June 9, UP Police shared a graphic on their official X account, mimicking Housefull 5's distinctive double climax format. The police post offered two contrasting visuals as 'climax choices' for two-wheeler riders, one showing a man wearing a helmet (labelled as 'Option 5A') and another showing the same man with a head injury and bandage, having not worn a helmet (labelled as 'Option 5B'). The post has drawn appreciation from actor Riteish Deshmukh, who is part of the film's ensemble cast. Lucknow, Jun 10 (PTI) The Uttar Pradesh Police has used a creative social media post inspired by the recently released Hindi film 'Housefull 5' to promote road safety and highlight the importance of wearing helmets. The caption cleverly read: 'Book your climax wisely'. The post quickly gained traction on social media, clocking over 1.32 lakh views, 1,200 likes, and around 650 retweets within 24 hours. Joining the chorus of appreciation, 'Housefull 5' actor Riteish Deshmukh quote-tweeted the post and commented: 'Be Responsible '“ Make the right choice. @Uppolice #RoadSafety #Helmet' The state police headquarters on Tuesday confirmed that the post was issued on the instructions of Director General of Police Rajeev Krishna as part of an ongoing campaign to increase public awareness on road safety through engaging digital content. In a press statement, UP Police said, 'The post was created to encourage helmet usage in a relatable and entertaining manner. Using pop culture references helps connect better with the public, especially youth. Our aim is to ensure safety messages are seen, understood, and followed.' The department added that it has consistently used creative campaigns to spread awareness on important civic and traffic issues. In the past, actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpayee, Disha Patani, Emraan Hashmi, and Ali Fazal have also engaged with UP Police's social media posts. Housefull 5, the latest installment of the popular comedy franchise, features Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan, among others. The film has generated buzz for offering two alternate endings, giving audiences a choice in how the story concludes — an idea the police cleverly repurposed for their road safety campaign. Uttar Pradesh is among the states recording most number of road accidents, injuries and fatalities. So far this year, over 7,700 road users have lost their lives in road crashes in the state, according to an official data accessed by PTI. Chennai Book Park sees a steady stream of crowd on Day 1

Status: cleared Chennai: Those entering the Central Metro station now have one-stop access to books from prominent publishers, spanning from Higginbothams to Katha, at the Chennai Book Park, opened by Chief Minister M K Stalin on Tuesday. An initiative of the School Education Department to kindle a reading habit among the public, the book park saw a steady stream of visitors on the first day. Nestled between a pharmacy and an eatery, en route to the ticket counter, one would rarely miss the park. Decked up with flowers and carpets, over 4,300 titles from over 13 publishers were on display. Among these, 84 titles were released on Tuesday. Most of the stalls belonged to the Tamil Nadu Text Book and Educational Services Corporation (TNTESC), which manages the functioning of the park. Nakkheeran, Shanti, and Coral were among the prominent publishers who set up stalls. Schoolbooks, guides, and books for competitive exams, mostly Tamil, were available. The cost of books ranged from ₹50 to ₹3,500. The CMRL is yet to fix signage for the park at entries and exits. TNTESC superintendent G Balaji said the park will be open from 9 am to 9 pm. "The schedule on weekend timings will be finalised in a couple of days. At least three staff, including security personnel, will man the premises," he said. Chezhian Kumarasamy, Executive Director of an advertising firm, said it was good to see people at a book park in a digital age where mobile phones call the shots. "I wish more such parks would be opened in places such as airports and MRTS stations," he said. Some, like law student L Lakshmi, who walked in thinking there would be a lot of autobiographies and non-fiction Tamil books, said she was surprised to find English books on self-help. Publication managers, however, aren't too optimistic about sales. "I don't know how many people will walk in. They are in a hurry to board trains," said Sivakumar, manager of one of the publications. By 8:50 pm, the facility registered a sale of about ₹35,000. The stalls have tied up with the TNTESC on a revenue-sharing model, said Katha Books CEO Ravin Carr. "Between 25% and 40% of the sale cost (depending on the size of the stalls) will be shared with the govt," he said. At the event, the Chief Minister also inaugurated 110 library buildings built across all districts at a cost of ₹29.80 crore and 70 special libraries at bus stands, hospitals, and district collectorates.
