DC police looking to identify suspect in Fairmont Street shooting
WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — D.C. police are searching for a man in a Northwest shooting from Sunday.
MPD: Argument over electric charging cable ends in shooting in DC
Just before 8:20 p.m. on June 1, the suspect, shown in the video below, reportedly approached a man in the 1400 block of Fairmont Street, Northwest.
After showing a gun, the suspect then shot the victim before fleeing. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police were able to find surveillance footage of the suspect, who was seen wearing all black clothing except for the red and white Roman numerals on his black sweatshirt. The suspect also wore a white mask and dark glasses.

Ringleader of bank fraud and identity theft scheme sentenced to federal prison
GEORGIA () — The final defendant and ringleader of a bank fraud and aggravated identity theft scheme involving stolen checks and a fake online recruiting website was sentenced to federal prison today. Jalen Tylee Hill, aka 'Roscoe Hill,' 26, of Americus, was sentenced to serve 81 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release. According to court documents and statements made in court, the Sumter County Sheriff's Office received a complaint from a local church in December 2021 about mail theft and forged checks. During the investigation, law enforcement discovered that numerous checks had been stolen out of mailboxes at residential and commercial locations in Georgia. The checks were then forged and deposited into other bank accounts. PREVIOUS COVERAGE: Sumter County Sheriff's Office arrest man on multiple counts of bank fraud; identity theft Investigators discovered that Hill directed the scheme and would recruit people via Facebook and determined that in six months, Hill stole hundreds of pieces of mail, participated in at least 68 incidents of bank fraud, and unlawfully used debit cards belonging to other individuals at least 14 occasions. 'Schemes to defraud and steal from citizens will not be tolerated in the Middle District of Georgia,' said Acting U.S. Attorney C. Shanelle Booker. 'This case serves as a reminder for all of us to be as vigilant as possible with what we share online and monitor our financial accounts. I commend the good investigative work of our local and federal law enforcement partners for helping to prevent any more people and businesses from falling victim to this fraud.' 14 others were also convicted for their participation in the scheme. Crowley man killed in Thursday truck crash in Acadia Parish
CROWLEY, La. () — A Crowley man was killed in a collision with a truck on La. 13 in Acadia Parish, authorities said. The crash claimed the life of Roderick Boullion, 60, of Crowley. Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash shortly after noon Thursday on La. 13 near its intersection with Airport Road. Investigators said a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by Boullion was traveling north on La. 13. At the same time, a 2019 Kenworth commercial motor vehicle was traveling south. For reasons still under investigation, the Mercury crossed the center line and into the path of the truck. As a result, the Kenworth struck the Mercury head-on. Close Thanks for signing up! A routine toxicology sample was obtained from Boullion and submitted for analysis. The driver of the Kenworth was not suspected of being impaired and voluntarily provided a breath sample which detected no alcohol. This crash remains under investigation.
