Beever-Jones hails ‘incredible' first Wembley start following England hat-trick
The 21-year-old became just the third woman – and second Lioness after Beth Mead – to score three times at Wembley, where she fired England out to a third-minute lead and Lucy Bronze headed home less than two minutes later.
Beever-Jones struck twice more either side of Beth Mead's 29th-minute goal to hand England a 5-0 lead in the 33rd minute, while substitute Chloe Kelly added a sixth after the break.

'I'm delighted,' said Beever-Jones. 'I don't even know any of the records and whatever, but I think someone just said it was Beth.
'To be alongside her is something really, really incredible. It's my first time playing at Wembley for England and I don't think it could actually get much better than that.
'It was incredible. I think Wembley's always been a special place. Obviously, we won the FA Cup here, not so long ago with Chelsea.
'I saw the girls win the Euros here. For me it's such an historic place. I was just focusing on getting into the game and trying to do the basics well – I can't quite believe that.
'As a team, the first half was incredible. We executed the game plan really well. The girls took the goals really well. I'm just so happy.'
England's triumph ensures they are still in contention to advance to the autumn Nations League finals, but will need to beat group leaders Spain on Tuesday night.
Build-up to the penultimate group-stage contest was dominated by the shock international retirement of goalkeeper Mary Earps, who was instrumental in England securing their first major silverware with a 2-1 extra-time win over Germany at Wembley, three summers ago.
Head coach Sarina Wiegman is expected to name her squad for that title defence – kicking off in Switzerland in just over a month – on June 5th, with next week's Spain meeting the last chance for players to make their case for selection.
News of Earps' retirement on Tuesday had dominated the Lionesses' discourse leading up to the encounter, in which Chelsea's Hannah Hampton was England's number one.
Beever-Jones added: 'As cliche as it sounds, Sarina said, 'It's a new kit, new England today. Go out there and put a graft in'. I think her words were 'destroy them' in her Dutch accent.'

Asked about her hat-trick hero, Wiegman said: 'I think she is a goalscorer. She scores goals very easily and very well. She has such quick feet and is keeping them on their weight all the time in good positions.
'She is really tight on the ball. The team did well coming into positions so the connections were really good. I think she played really relaxed.'
But the England boss would not say whether or not Beever-Jones had cemented her place on the Euros squad, only conceding with a smile: 'You are putting some words into my mouth. I think she did really well today.'

Steven Gerrard lifted lid on Liverpool rivalry by saying he hated two team-mates
Steven Gerrard will go down as one of the greatest-ever English footballing talents, securing 114 caps for his nation between 2000 and 2014 - but he didn't always see eye-to-eye with his team-mates Steven Gerrard explained that tensions between his boyhood club Liverpool and fierce rivals Manchester United spilled over into the England dressing room. Gerrard, who racked up 114 appearances for his nation between 2000 and 2014, is England's fourth-most capped player of all time behind Peter Shilton, Wayne Rooney and David Beckham. While the now 44-year-old managed to forge close bonds with some of his fellow countrymen on international duty, there were two stars, in particular, that he struggled to see eye-to-eye with, owing to their club obligations. Speaking at an event in Belfast back in 2017, the former Liverpool captain was asked about his friendship with Rio Ferdinand in retirement. To which, he explained: "When you're lining up in the tunnel against Rio and Gary Neville you want to do everything in your power to beat them – there's hatred there, that's exactly how it is. When you meet up for England at that time, you pretend you like them – but your career finishes, their career finishes and your friendship starts for real. "I've got nothing but respect for Rio as a player, played for a top club all his life, he's a good fella as well, I'm enjoying the role at BT [Sport] with him as well." Ferdinand also made a similar point the following year during an interview with Times Magazine, explaining: "It overshadowed things. It killed that England team, that generation. "One year we would have been fighting Liverpool to win the league, another year it would be Chelsea. So I was never going to walk into the England dressing room and open up to Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole, John Terry or Joe Cole at Chelsea, or Steven Gerrard or Jamie Carragher at Liverpool because of the fear they would take something back to their club and use it against us. "I didn't realise that what I was doing was hurting England at the time. I was so engrossed, so obsessed with winning with Man United. Nothing else mattered." Speaking about putting club rivalries aside for the better of the nation, former England manager Gareth Southgate explained in 2018: "We have listened to some compelling interviews from Frank and Rio and Steven and we used that to say, 'Okay, we have to make sure we put those club situations to one side.' "I don't think there is that intense rivalry between our top clubs that there was then. But this is a group that is young enough to be interested in doing a lot of things together. "Most of them have come through the youth system with England together so they are used to being at St George's together. That's not a hardship for them. We are nothing to do with the past. The past can inform us and help us, but shouldn't shape us." Despite being a part of England's golden generation in terms of talent and representing his nation at World Cups and the Euros for 14 years, Gerrard failed to win a thing with the Three Lions. Despite venturing into the world of management with Rangers, Aston Villa and Al-Ettifaq, Gerrard is currently out of a job. However, it is rumoured that the tactician is eyeing a return to Rangers in the Scottish Premiership for 2025/26. Time will only tell is Gerrard will be reunited with Ibrox, with Russell Martin, Davide Ancelotti and Brian Priske also linked to the job.

Premier League transfer window open today as Man Utd and Liverpool eye deals
A number of deals are expected to be announced on day one of the summer transfer window, which will be paused in 10 days' time for almost a week due to the Club World Cup The 2025 summer transfer window is open and it is set to get off to a flier with most of the Premier League 's big guns expected to complete deals in the opening days. That is predominantly on account of the controversial new Club World Cup that sees Chelsea and Manchester City head to the United States next week for a financially-lucrative month of action that many players are unhappy to be a part of. But its consequences are extending into this summer's recruitment as some clubs race to make signings so their new faces can compete. That includes Trent Alexander-Arnold signing for Real Madrid for £10m - despite being available for free at the end of the month. Equally several sides not competing in the CWC are getting active with Manchester United set to bring in Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m and Liverpool wrapping up a deal for Jeremie Frimpong, with Florian Wirtz potentially following right behind on the path from Leverkusen. Here are some of the big things to look out for in the first part of a two-segment window. Early moves The CWC is a driving factor but so too is the fact several of the big teams - believing they have a window to grab success after Liverpool ended City's dominance - are active immediately. Another theory is that they are all keen on adding goalscorers and the pool is very small - hence why Liam Delap is such hot property and expected to join Chelsea. Last summer the window was three weeks old before one of the traditional big six confirmed a move - but we already know Frimpong will be made official on Sunday and United's deal for Cunha could follow soon. Window pause A lull is guaranteed, however. Again as a consequence of the CWC, the window will shut on June 10 for six days before then running through to September 1's deadline. The early flurry suggests a very quiet second half of June is in store. Anfield activity Frimpong has already posed with the Liverpool shirt and his team-mate at Leverkusen, Wirtz, is the subject of a £109m bid that massively goes against the grain of how the champions have operated in the market for years. Alexander-Arnold's switch to Real will be confirmed at some point on Sunday and the £10m fee gained for letting him move a month early is handsome business. Man Utd woe If it all looks like sunshine and rainbows at Liverpool, down the East Lancs Road it is mostly misery at Old Trafford. United may be closing a deal to sign Cunha but there are set to be a series of high-profile exits, including Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and, possibly, captain Bruno Fernandes. Saudi giants Al Hilal have given him another few days to decide whether to accept a bumper pay day worth up to £200m across three years. Serious consideration is being given but Al Hilal want him in place in time for the CWC. Chelsea's chase Enzo Maresca's side are heading there no matter what and the signing of Delap for £30m from relegated Ipswich Town looks all but sealed. He had several clubs interested but should usurp Nicolas Jackson quickly. With a Champions League return and the £100m on offer for the CWC, expect another busy summer at Stamford Bridge. Arteta's final step And there could be an early signing at the Emirates too as Mikel Arteta looks to boost Arsenal from second to first. As long expected, Martin Zubimendi will join from Real Sociedad. But the need for a striker remains as pressing as ever and Viktor Gyokeres is fancied to make the switch from Sporting Lisbon, although there is long-term interest in RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko.

Sunday's briefing: Paris St Germain secure Champions League glory
The Champions League has been the holy grail for the Parisians since their Qatari take over more than a decade ago and when it finally came, it came in stunning fashion as they crushed Inter Milan 5-0 – the biggest winning margin for a final in the competition's history. Luis Enrique's side became only the second French club to lift the European Cup after Marseille did so in 1993, and they end the season as treble winners following their Ligue 1 and French Cup successes. Dream night for PSG Senny Mayulu scored Paris St Germain's fifth in a stunning victory over Inter Milan (Martin Meissner/AP) PSG were many people's favourites for the final but could anyone have foreseen the performance they delivered in Munich? Achraf Hakimi finished off a brilliant attacking move to put them ahead 12 minutes in and it already felt over when 19-year-old Desire Doue added a second eight minutes later with the help of a deflection. Doue would get another just after the hour but PSG just kept coming as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia made it four 10 minutes later, with another teenager, 18-year-old Senny Mayulu, sparking wild scenes when he got the fifth five minutes from time. After millions were spent signing ageing stars who could not deliver, Enrique as rebuilt PSG as a young, energetic side who have become the class of Europe. Wiegman weighs options England manager Sarina Wiegman is still weighing up options for her Euros squad (Jacob King/PA) Sarina Wiegman still has a few days left before she names her England squad for the Euros and will use them to pick between a number of players still hoping to make the final cut. Chelsea forward Aggie Beever-Jones put forward her case when she became just the second Lioness to score a hat-trick at Wembley in the 6-0 Nations League rout of Portugal. The key for Wiegman will be to find the right balance of form, fitness and chemistry in the final 23. 'Of course you want these connections,' she said. 'Some players play more together than others. You have your opponents and of course, we still have players that are building too, so can they go to the level they had before they had injuries? 'I don't know yet. We're still trying out things and finding the balance.' Heitinga leaves, Lijnders for City? Former Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders could be on his way to rivals Manchester City (Nick Potts/PA) As Liverpool announced that John Heitinga was leaving his role as Arne Slot's assistant to become head coach of Ajax, one of his predecessors as a deputy in the Anfield dugout has also been in the news this weekend. Pep Lijnders, who was the assistant to Jurgen Klopp for several seasons, has reportedly agreed to join rivals Manchester City in Pep Guardiola's new-look backroom staff. Lijnders left Liverpool at the same time as Klopp last summer, but his role as Red Bull Salzburg boss was short-lived as he left in December. Former Ajax and Everton defender Heitinga, 41, will take over from Francesco Farioli in Amsterdam after the Italian saw his side squander a nine-point lead in the Eredivise title race to rivals PSV Eindhoven. Alcaraz to stay at Everton Charly Alcaraz is staying at Everton after the club made his loan move permanent (Adam Davy/PA) Charly Alcaraz is staying at Everton after impressing on loan, with the Toffees triggering the option to make his switch from Flamengo permanent. The 22-year-old will sign a two-year contract at the Merseyside club, who have paid an undisclosed sum to the Brazilian club. The Argentinian, formerly of Southampton, registered five goal involvements from 16 appearances since his January switch to Goodison Park. What's on today? A place in the Football League is up for grabs at Wembley as Oldham meet Southend in the Nations League promotion play-off. Oldham, who finished fifth in the regular season, are looking to regain EFL status after three seasons in the National League. Southend, who finished seventh, were relegated in 2021. A National League final record crowd of 50,000 is expected.
