Bang & Olufsen's third-gen Beosound A1 Bluetooth speaker has more battery life and bass
High-end Danish audio brand Bang & Olufsen has announced the third generation of its Beosound A1 Bluetooth speaker. The updated A1 remains as portable as its predecessor, retaining its puck-shaped design and minimalist appearance, but there are some key upgrades under its pearl-blasted aluminum shell.
Arguably the most important of these is the larger woofer, which delivers a bass of 64dB, a 2dB improvement on the second-generation model. While that admittedly sounds modest on paper, B&O claims it's one that makes the speaker capable of comfortably filling a room with meaty sound. If you happen to have an older A1 around, you can form a stereo pair with the latest model for even more sonic muscle.

Battery life has also been increased to 24 hours, which is a sizable six hours more than its predecessor. And while it uses the slightly older Bluetooth 5.1 standard, the new A1 supports Microsoft Swift Pair and Google Fast Pair, both of which cut down on the steps required to pair devices. The previous speaker's three-microphone setup also makes its way to the A1 3rd Gen, allowing you to take calls from the device itself.
The updated speaker has an IP67 dust and waterproof rating, and sports a modular design that allows you to replace or upgrade broken or outdated components over time. Bang & Olufsen say it's the first speaker in the world to get a Bronze certification from Cradle to Cradle. The C2C is a globally recognized sustainability standard that assesses a product from its supply chain through to production, and coaches companies in minimizing waste. The Bronze level awarded to the Beosound A1 is the lowest on C2C's scale, but it's evidence that Bang & Olufsen is paying mind to sustainability.
The Bang & Olufsen A1 3rd Gen can be purchased in the same Natural Aluminium finish as its predecessor, as well as the two new 'nature-inspired' colorways of Honey Tone and Eucalyptus Green. It's available to buy today and costs $349.

The terrific HoverAir X1 selfie drone has plunged to its best price yet
Whether you're sightseeing or taking group selfies, the HoverAir X1 offers a fun, hands-free way to capture your summer vacation. And right now, it's available for around $268.99 ($80 off) at Amazon and B&H Photo, which is the best price we've seen on the selfie drone. Though fairly basic with a max resolution of 2.7K at 30fps, the HoverAir X1 excels at the essentials. The pocket-sized drone is quick and easy to set up – in under 20 seconds, my colleague Thomas Ricker was able to unfold it, power it on, and choose from six preset flight paths: hover, follow, orbit, zoom out, bird's eye, and a customizable mode – before capturing hands-free footage. It also comes with a companion app that lets you adjust distance, altitude, and other settings for each preset. To keep costs down, Zero Zero Robotics omitted some features that pricier drones from rivals like DJI offer, such as obstacle avoidance sensors and a physical controller. The HoverAir X1 also struggles in windy conditions and can't keep up with faster activities like road biking. It lacks GPS too – though the company included a VIO (Visual Inertial Odometry) system to compensate, which works well enough. Still, it does a great job covering everything most users need from a drone, making it a solid choice if you're looking for a budget-friendly, quick, and easy-to-use option. Zero Zero Robotics HoverAir X1 $34923% off $269 The pocketable HoverAir X1 keeps things simple, with a 2.7K at 30fps max resolution and six preset flight modes for easy, hands-free shooting. It lacks GPS and obstacle avoidance, but it launches in seconds and is easy to use. Three more deals worth checking out Amazon's latest Echo Spot is on sale starting at $49.95 ($30 off) at B&H Photo, which is the lowest we've seen it go for this year and $5 shy of the semi-circular smart display's all-time low. The Spot doubles as a great alarm clock that lets you gently wake up with your favorite music, while boasting a customizable 2.83-inch screen that shows useful information like the weather. It also offers Amazon Alexa integration, letting you control smart devices like lights with your voice right from your bed. Read our review. You can pick up the 6.3-inch Google Pixel 9A for $449 ($50 off) from Amazon, Best Buy, and directly from Google, which is its best price to Pixel 9A builds upon its predecessor with more robust IP68 water resistance and a slightly bigger and brighter screen. It also features an impressive camera system for the price and a 5,100mAh battery that should comfortably last over a day, along with seven years of promised OS updates. Read our review.

My favorite JBL speaker is at its lowest ever price just in time for Father's Day — this is the speaker I'd get my dad
We're always hunting for the best Father's Day deals, whether that be apparel, outdoor gear, or TV gadgets. However, I'm a bit of an audio nerd, so I've got my eye on some of the best speaker deals out there. Way back in July 2024, I reviewed the JBL Xtreme 4 Bluetooth speaker. It's easily one of the best Bluetooth speakers — in fact, it's best for bass on our guide. The only cons are its weight and its price, and this massive discount eradicates the latter. Let me put you onto this incredible Bluetooth speaker — the JBL Xtreme 4 is the speaker I'd want to take home out of all the speakers I've reviewed, and for just $240? It's an utter steal and just in time for Father's Day. At just $240, this is the lowest price the Xtreme 4 has ever been. Its MSRP is $379, which I criticized for being too expensive in my 4 star review. However, at just $240? I'd run, not walk to Walmart right now. Price check: $249 @ Amazon | $249 @ Best Buy Thanks to the double woofers and JBL's proprietary Bass Radiators, the Xtreme 4's bass is utterly stonking. When I was testing this speaker, I could feel its bass in my jaw. I also filmed a video about the Xtreme 4, and you can literally see the woofers pounding in slow motion. I was utterly gobsmacked by this bass performance. Just look at that passive radiator. This is what makes the speaker's bass so darn good. I upped the bass on JBL's app to max, and I felt like my house was going to fall down. Don't get me wrong — it's not a perfect speaker. It weighs a pretty hefty 4 pounds, which was a little too much for me to carry around. That's why I'd buy this speaker for my dad, though — he can carry it! (See, there are always ways to get around these things.)(I jest, but it's a worthy justification.) The button on the far left of that image is 'AuraCast', which is basically a technology that allows you to link up multiple Bluetooth speakers for an earth-shaking, face-melting, physics-defying loudness performance. If you have other JBL speakers, you'll be able to sync all the speakers for mega-loud listening. While there's so much more to love about the JBL Xtreme 4, the bass is definitely my favorite aspect. There's a reason I fell in love with the Xtreme 4 when I tested it for a week. However, I did think it was way too pricey. But at just $240? Now I'm tempted to get two — one for me, and one for my dad.
