EXCLUSIVE: An X Factor star is making a huge Glastonbury debut 16 years after her appearance on the show, as she teases some exciting surprises along the way
Former X Factor star Lucie Jones will be making her debut at this year's Glastonbury Festival 16 years after her stint on the ITV show - and she promises some huge surprises.
Ever since finishing eighth place on the series, which featured Olly Murs and Stacey Solomon, the 34-year-old has made a name for herself in the West End, starring in iconic productions such as We Will Rock You, Legally Blonde, Rent, and Les Misérables.

Now, Lucie is set to bring musical theatre to Glastonbury for three nights, as she promises "cool surprises" during the "huge celebration of music and theatre."

Avid festival goer Lucie was overwhelmed when she received the call - and she knows exactly what the festival is missing. Speaking exclusively to the Mirror on what fans can expect, Lucie said: "When I was there last year, I was like, 'why is there no musical theatre here?' I was just walking around and I was thinking, these people would love a bit of defying gravity.
"I think a lot of people think of musical theatre as like jazz hands and tap dance. But that just isn't the style that I do. It's going to be super upbeat and you're going to know every song. There's a bit of that in musical theatre, of course, but it's a whole world of other stuff as well."
However, Lucie won't be alone. As well as a full band, the star teased some special surprises and guests. "There's a couple of friends that I've got that are playing at Glastonbury who, quite possibly will be joining me, or I'll be joining them during their set," she said. "I'm really excited about one or two of them. It's going to be super cool and they're not necessarily musical theatre acts."
Lucie, who represented the UK in Eurovision eight years ago credits the X Factor for "changing her life". The series produced a number of stars including winner Joe McElderry, who Lucie still keeps in touch with now. "'I'm going to Ibiza tomorrow and I'm going to see Joe McElderry," she said.

Lucie, who also revealed that she still keeps in touch with mentor Dannii Minogue. "Danni's still my mentor now," she said. A few years back, the star portraying Elphaba in the West End production of the musical Wicked, as she revealed Dannii was the first person she called when she got the role.
"It was about 7 in the morning in Australia, and she called me and I was on the train and she was like like screaming, she's just a wonderful human being," Lucie said.
As well as performing at Glastonbury, Lucie will also be starring as Jenna Rink in 13 Going On 30 - The Musical which will be showing in Manchester Opera House this autumn.

No EuroMillions winner means biggest lottery prize in UK rolls over yet again

With no EuroMillions winner, the jackpot on Tuesday will be an estimated £208 million - a massive, life-changing scoop - but first you have got to grab your ticket online or in shops An estimated £208 million is up for grabs in Tuesday's lottery after no EuroMillions winner was found on Friday. The jackpot will is now biggest lottery prize the UK has seen, National Lottery operator Allwyn said. The total prize money has now been capped, meaning prize pots in the next winning tier will be boosted. ‌ "Tuesday will see the incredible £208 million EuroMillions jackpot still up for grabs. A win of this magnitude would create the biggest National Lottery winner this country has ever seen. Get your tickets early to ensure you're in with a chance of a massive life-changing win," Andy Carter, senior winners' adviser at Allwyn, said. ‌ Five UK players became millionaires on Friday after matching five main numbers and one Lucky Star, winning £3.61 million each. However, there was no EuroMillions winner. Mr Carter added: "The EuroMillions jackpot is now capped, so any money that would have gone into increasing the jackpot now boosts prizes in the next winning prize tier, meaning that we're seeing multiple UK players banking huge prizes for matching just the five main numbers and one Lucky Star." The main EuroMillions winning numbers on Fridaywere 02, 28, 40, 43, 45 and the lucky stars were 03 and 07. Friday June 13 also saw 13 UK millionaires made through a special EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker event. "Contrary to superstition, Friday the 13th has proven the luckiest date in the calendar for these lucky UK players. All UK EuroMillions players should check their tickets and contact us if they believe they are one of tonight's lucky winners," Mr Carter continued. No players won the £1 million HotPicks jackpot – which uses the same numbers as the EuroMillions draw. No players won the £500,000 Thunderball jackpot either. The five Thunderball numbers were 01, 02, 24, 33, 39 and the Thunderball number was 13. When mum Annie Leith entered a different lottery last year, she was overwhelmed to be able to take her family on an abroad holiday for the first time. The yoga teacher, from Pill, Somerset, told the Mirror: "We have some wonderful memories, like waking up and hearing the waves crash off the cliffs in Tenerife. It was crazy to see and hear that. My children chasing lizards there was amazing, and the black sand on the beaches there was great. Digging shoes into the black sand was lovely. I remember the kids talking, or trying to talk, in Spanish out there and trying to encourage them. "We have all got this little spark that something will happen outside the norm one day, and for us that has. This happened to my family to the nth degree so we are lucky... The world isn't this thing with boundaries, which again is maybe a Covid thing, and it is great to explore. We have been able to experience this now and it has been life-changing."

Jamie Laing shares moving tribute as pal tragically dies on Air India flight

Jamie Laing has paid tribute to his 'wonderful' friend who was feared to be on the ill-fated Air India flight this week. Fiongal Greenlaw, 39, and his husband Jamie Meek, 45, are thought to have been on board the flight, bound for London's Gatwick Airport, which went down shortly after take-off. They are said to have been on holiday in India. The couple co-founded a wellness brand together, which had been shown on ITV's This Morning. Following the tragic news, Jamie paid tribute to Jamie with a tribute on his Instagram Stories. "I will miss you dear friend," he said. "A wonderful human with a wonderful soul." Fiongal appeared as a guest on This Morning in January. During the episode, he gave hosts Ben and Cat a reading over their auras. He was brought back as a spiritual advisor on the show in April, with him appearing alongside Ben, Cat and Josie Gibson in the TV studio based in London. After his first visit, a post shared by his wellness brand the Wellness Foundry on Instagram read: "So this happened ... The biggest gig so far! Fiongal on This Morning - it was very nerve-wracking but he was honoured to chat about one of his favourite topics to such a big audience." The post on the platform continued: "Thank you to everyone [at] This Morning for being so amazing and guiding me through. Thank you to [Cat and Ben] for being so kind and welcoming." Fiongal and Jamie are said to have been died in the plane crash this week. As it was previously reported, the duo posted a clip from Ahmedabad airport moments before getting on the plane. Fellow Made In Chelsea star Alex Mytton also paid tribute amid reports Jamie and Fiongal died in the crash. Tagging his girlfriend Helen Wood, Alex wrote: "A bit lost for words and feeling a tad emotionally exhausted so I just want to write a short message so as to get the message out. "Our lovely friends Fiongal & Jamie were very sadly killed yesterday in the plane crash in India. There's a lot more I want to say about them, as they were very close to @Hannah_woood & I's heart but right now I just wanted to say that if anybody wants to meet up tomorrow if they're feeling heavy, sad or just wanna hang out with some other humans I'm gonna be organising a little meet up & hug in the park or along the lines (sorry not making loads of sense atm). "It feels like there's a lot of sadness and pain at the moment and just wanted to do something as a vigil to our friends but also for everything else going on at the moment. "So please if you're feeling down or even just up for hanging out or just saying hey, it'll be a bunch of us just chatting and chilling in the park."

Ascot can lift mood after Derby doom and gloom with five days of royal glamour, star runners and a racing spectacle fit for the world stage, writes ED CHAMBERLIN

What a difference a week will make. From the doom and gloom of Epsom and its empty hill to the promise of something quite spectacular at Royal Ascot, five days that will illustrate everything great about British racing. Why are the two occasions so different? It would have been unthinkable during the late Queen's reign for her not to be at Epsom on Derby Day but the lack of a Royal presence seven days ago certainly contributed to how flat everything felt. The occasion, for so many reasons, isn't resonating with the nation. We had an audience of 1.3million on ITV, an improvement from 12 months ago but still nothing to write home about. In contrast, when we started covering racing in 2017, our ambition was to get one million-plus watching on midweek afternoons — we hope to do that on all five days next week. People can't get enough of Ascot and that's because the course has moved with the times, making it an occasion for everyone. When the Royal procession goes down the track, it passes a complete cross section of society within 500 yards. You have the picnickers on the Heath to those dining in the restaurant of Yannick Alleno, a chef with 17 Michelin stars; you'll have students there for a good time rubbing shoulders with aristocrats. Tickets are selling fast and Ascot expect close to 300,000 across the five days. It was all doom and gloom at Epsom on Derby Day just seven days ago This year marks the 200th anniversary of the Royal procession and Ascot, a racecourse in tune with their local community, have invited 500 kids from local schools on course to see the spectacle. It remains as relevant as it has ever been. My hope is the Princess of Wales will be there with the Prince on Wednesday for the blockbuster race named in his honour. I'd love to see David and Victoria Beckham in the carriages one day, too, as they would carry racing on to the front pages. I argued on these pages last year how I would love to see places reserved in the procession for the NHS heroes and heroines, to spread the love around, but the meeting is so successful I'll leave all decisions for the powers-that-be. Ascot's biggest selling point, however, is that Felicity Barnard — the new chief executive — knows what matters. For all the pomp, pageantry and popping corks, everything revolves around horses. Everyone wants to be here, with runners arriving from America, Japan, Australia, Spain and Norway. And, at the heart of it, we will be looking for a winner. Betting will be central to our coverage and my idea of a 'good thing' is Shadow Of Light in Friday's Commonwealth Cup. I can't wait. This is Ascot: historic and in fashion — and the reason everyone will be watching. BETS OF THE WEEK: Aside from Shadow Of Light, I expect REACHING HIGH to win Tuesday's Ascot Stakes for the King and Queen. I'm also hearing positive vibes for FITZELLA in the Albany Stakes on Friday.
