Three pairs of twins at Mina Hajj Scouting Camp share gratifying experience of serving pilgrims

Saudi Gazette report
MINA — In a rare and coincidental alignment, this year's public service camps, organized by the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association for Hajj 2025, have brought together three pairs of Saudi twins. Hailing from the scout group of the civil development association in Riyadh's Al-Rabie neighborhood, these six young men are collectively dedicated to serving pilgrims.
The twins—Hussam and Issam Saeed Al-Qarni, Azzam and Ammar Suleiman Al-Sulaiman, and Walid and Muhannad Abdul-Hakim Al-Otaibi—are bound not only by family ties and similar appearances, but also by a genuine passion for scouting and active engagement in the noble cause of volunteer work and pilgrim service.
Al-Qarni twins stated that scouting was not just a passing activity, but a life path chosen with conviction from a young age. They emphasized they were raised to love their country, and scouting has allowed them to translate this into tangible service by guiding pilgrims, providing first aid, and offering various forms of assistance. They stressed that every moment during the pilgrimages is a new lesson in patience, compassion, and discipline.
Al-Sulaiman twins noted this experience has deepened their relationship, adding with pride: "We thought we knew each other well, but in the atmosphere of the pilgrimages and under the pressure of tasks, we discovered new dimensions of cooperation and interdependence. We work as a team, complementing each other, and everything we do is for the comfort of the pilgrim, whom we consider our guests, and it is our duty to provide them with the utmost comfort."
Al-Otaibi twins expressed their profound pride in their participation, describing it as a life-changing experience. "Today, we are not only serving, but also learning how to stand calmly in the midst of a crowd, how to take the initiative without expecting thanks, and how scouting can be a comprehensive educational field," they said. "Being here together, two brothers and twins, experiencing the same thing and sharing every detail is something we will carry with us for the rest of our lives."

Drones Successfully Transport Medicines between Hospitals during Hajj 2025

The Makkah Health Cluster announced that the pilot operation of a drone-powered medication transport program between healthcare centers and hospitals has succeeded in the holy sites, according to Sabq News. This success represents a remarkable milestone in boosting the efficiency of healthcare services during Hajj 2025. The process consists of several stages, starting with the preparation stage in which authorities determine the required quantities and contact with healthcare facilities. Then, the program employs the latest technologies in compliance with the requirements of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority. Therefore, medicines, medical supplies, and laboratory equipment can be easily reserved, dispensed, and delivered to healthcare facilities in the holy sites. To ensure that the process runs properly, the authorities can control the drone through a monitoring screen. Saudi pumps 895,622 cubic meters of water on Arafat Day

RIYADH: The Saudi Water Authority announced that the water system pumped 895,622 cubic meters of water in Makkah and the holy sites during Arafat Day. The total volume pumped since the start of the Dhu Al-Hijjah month, through its ninth day, reached 7,794,799 cubic meters, SPA reported on Friday. This operational achievement aligns with a meticulously designed plan to ensure an uninterrupted water supply, leveraging production and transport capacities that meet the peak daily demand of more than 1.2 million cubic meters. The system's pumping capacity surpasses one million cubic meters daily. Operational oversight included 4,908 laboratory tests on Arafat Day to ensure water quality and safety. These tests elevate total inspections to record levels, reinforcing confidence in supply quality for pilgrims. Compliance and monitoring teams from the Saudi Water Authority conducted more than 5,000 field inspections across pilgrim camps and service facilities in Mina and Arafat to assess water services for pilgrims.

Saudi Crown Prince Oversees Hajj Organization from Mina

Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, arrived in Mina on Thursday to oversee the organization of the Hajj pilgrimage. He will oversee the services provided to the pilgrims and the facilitations aimed at ensuring they perform the holy rituals smoothly and safely. Earlier Thursday, pilgrims gathered in Arafat to spend hours in worship and contemplation. The rocky hill holds immense significance in Islam. Arafat is mentioned in the holy Quran and it is where the Prophet Mohammad gave his last sermon on his final Hajj. The Day of Arafat is the most sacred day of the year, when God draws near to the faithful and forgives their sins. After sunset Thursday, pilgrims headed to the desert plain of Muzdalifah to collect pebbles for the symbolic stoning of the devil ritual. On Friday, they will head to the vast tent city of Mina to carry out the ritual.
