A 22-year-old British man has been arrested after allegedly attempting to stage a fake wedding ceremony with a nine-year-old girl at Disneyland Paris, according to a report by The Sunday Times. The shocking incident unfolded on the morning of Saturday, 21 June, in front of the park's iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle. Authorities told The Sunday Times that the man, who posed as the groom in the ceremony, claimed the event was intended purely for the creation of social media content. However, the seriousness of the situation came to light after Disneyland Paris staff raised concerns when they noticed the supposed bride appeared alarmingly young.
The event, scheduled as part of a pre-booked wedding package, quickly came under scrutiny, leading to police intervention. Further investigation revealed that the guests at the wedding were actually hired actors who had been transported to the park with minimal knowledge about the event's true nature. Multiple arrests made
Alexandre Verney, assistant prosecutor for the Seine-et-Marne département, confirmed to The Sunday Times that the child was given a medical examination and was found to be physically unharmed. In connection with the incident, police arrested four individuals: the British man alleged to be the groom, the child's 41-year-old Ukrainian mother, and two Latvian nationals aged 24 and 55.
While the mother and the 55-year-old Latvian have since been released from custody, Verney said the British man and the 24-year-old Latvian remain detained as authorities explore potential charges of financial fraud. Guests left stunned
Eyewitnesses at the park expressed disbelief upon realising the child's role in the ceremony. Speaking to French news outlet Le Parisien, one attendee said, 'We all thought we were going to attend a wedding. Everyone was stunned, no one expected it.'

Another added, 'Disneyland did things very well. They cancelled everything as soon as they realised the bride was a child. We were shocked to see that.'

Johnny Depp breaks silence on Hollywood elites who betrayed him during Amber Heard lawsuit: 'They were at my kids' parties...'

'Crash Test Dummy' for #MeToo? Depp Says He Took the Hits for Hollywood Getty Images During the interview, Depp provocatively called himself a 'crash test dummy' for the #MeToo movement, alleging that the tide of social justice took a personal toll on his life and reputation. The Long Road to Court — OkiemSerka (@OkiemSerka) Post-Trial Fallout Johnny Depp is back in the headlines—this time, not for a courtroom drama or red carpet appearance, but for peeling back the layers of his emotional scars left behind by the Amber Heard defamation trial . In a searing new interview with The Sunday Times, the 62-year-old actor didn't mince words when addressing the emotional and personal fallout he endured after being dragged through the public wringer. 'There are people, and I'm thinking of three, who did me dirty,' Depp confessed, sending shockwaves through Hollywood's tight-lipped unnamed individuals, Depp says, were not just business acquaintances—they were friends. People who once attended his children's parties and toasted to his success, but remained silent or turned their backs when the actor needed their support the most. 'They were at my kids' parties. Throwing them in the air,' he said. 'And, look, I understand people who could not stand up [for me], because the most frightening thing to them was making the right choice.'During the interview, Depp provocatively called himself a 'crash test dummy' for the #MeToo movement , alleging that the tide of social justice took a personal toll on his life and reputation. 'I was like a crash test dummy for MeToo,' he said, describing how he absorbed blow after blow while the industry watched in silence. 'And so I wanted from the hundreds of people I've met in that industry to see who was playing it safe. 'Better go woke!''Referring to the cultural atmosphere during the height of the movement, Depp added, 'The confetti machine [is] going because what do they want? Dough.' The metaphor was his way of describing what he calls Hollywood's hypocrisy: people who celebrate you in public, criticize you behind closed doors, and keep cashing in regardless of your explosive trial that inspired these reflections began brewing years earlier. In May 2016, Amber Heard accused Depp of domestic violence and filed for divorce shortly thereafter. Though a settlement followed, Depp reignited the legal battle in 2019 with a $50 million defamation suit over a Washington Post op-ed in which Heard discussed her experience with abuse—without naming Depp courtroom saga gripped the world when the trial went live in April 2022. Over six weeks of televised testimony, both actors accused each other of harrowing abuse, creating a media circus that split public opinion. In June, the jury ruled largely in Depp's favor, awarding him $10.35 million in damages. Heard received $2 million in her countersuit. By December, the case was settled, with Heard agreeing to pay $1 million to be donated to the trial, Heard relocated to Spain with her daughter Oonagh, quietly stepping away from the spotlight. But for Depp, the spotlight never quite dimmed. His recent comments have once again raised questions about loyalty, accountability, and how public narratives around private pain often get twisted beyond recognition.'I was with one agent for 30 years, but she spoke in court about how difficult I was,' Depp revealed in the interview. 'That's death by confetti, these fake mo*****rs who lie to you, celebrate you, say all sorts of horror behind your back, yet keep the money.'While Depp has not named the individuals who 'did him dirty,' his message is loud and clear: the most painful scars are often inflicted not by enemies, but by friends who stay quiet when it matters most.

Superyacht that killed UK billionaire and daughter brought ashore for investigation

Tech tycoon Mike Lynch's superyacht has been taken to the town where British and Italian investigators will carry out a full probe into the sinking. The hull of the superyacht Bayesian, which sank near Palermo, Sicily, on August 19, 2024, is pulled out of the sea off the village of Porticello to be taken to the nearby shipyard in Termini Imerese, Sunday, June 22, 2025. (AP Photo/Salvatore Cavalli)(AP) Seven people died when the Bayesian sank off Sicily on August 19 including billionaire Mr Lynch, 59, and his daughter Hannah, 18. The vessel was held above the water by one of Europe's most powerful floating sea cranes, which set off from the fishing village Porticello at around 1.10pm local time. It was held in front of the crane as it moved. The vessel arrived in Termini Imerese, a town around 12 milies away at just after 3pm on Sunday. It will then be moved into a specially manufactured steel cradle, which has a tarpaulin underneath for pollution prevention. Salvage workers on site, not accompanying the vessel to port, are conducting a 'full sweep' of the seabed near Porticello for any potential debris, a project insider said. Italian prosecutors previously said raising and examining the yacht for evidence would provide key information for its investigation into the sinking. It will also aid the Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) report on what happened. Simon Graves, an MAIB investigator, previously told the PA news agency: 'When the wreck is brought ashore, we'll be completing a full examination of the wreck and we'll be finding out all of the elements that might have contributed to the safety of the vessel.' Further details such as 'escape routes' will be included in its final report on the sinking, according to Mr Graves, who added: 'Once we get access to the vessel we'll be able to tell a fuller picture of activities on board and the sequence of events.' The vessel was originally expected to be raised last month but salvage efforts were delayed after a diver died during underwater work on May 9, prompting greater use of remote-controlled equipment. About 70 specialist personnel had been mobilised to Porticello from across Europe to work on the recovery operation. Bayesian tragedy Inquest proceedings in the UK are looking at the deaths of Mr Lynch and his daughter, as well as Morgan Stanley International bank chairman Jonathan Bloomer, 70, and his wife, Judy Bloomer, 71, who were all British nationals. Fifteen people, including Mr Lynch's wife, Angela Bacares, were rescued. Mr Lynch and his daughter were said to have lived in the vicinity of London and the Bloomers lived in Sevenoaks, Kent.

Russia-Ukraine war: Moscow strikes civil infrastructure in Kyiv again, kills 9 and injures dozens

Russia launched massive missile and drone strikes on Kyiv that claimed nine lives, while over dozen were injured, leading to a collapse of a section of a residential building. According to Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko on Telegram, recovery work continues and more casualties are expected to be trapped in the debris. He said, 'Russia has demonstrated that a term 'civilian object' doesn't exist for them." According to authorities, two people were slain and 10 wounded in a Russian short-range drone attack that occurred in the Chernihiv region late Sunday night. Three children were among the wounded, Viacheslav Chaus, the regional administration head said. 2. One person was killed and eight others were injured overnight in the city of Bila Tserkva, located about 85 kilometers (53 miles) southwest of the capital. 3. The city's administration reported on Telegram that one of the subway entrances in Kyiv was also damaged in the attack. Subway stations are typically used as shelters during air raids. 4. The emergency services stated the most severe damage happened in the Shevchenkivskyi district, where one section of a five-story apartment building collapsed. Residential areas, hospitals and sports infrastructure in numerous districts across Kyiv were hit by Russia's drone and missiles. 5. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko mentioned six people were declared dead in the Shevchenkivskyi district. 10 others, comprising a pregnant woman, were rescued from a nearby high-rise that also suffered heavy damage in the blast. Vitali said, 'We very much hope that the death toll will not increase', but that rescue workers were still searching the collapsed building for more casualties. 6. The attack saw a similar pattern to last week's assault that killed 28 people, which Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy called one of the biggest bombardments of the war, now in its fourth year. 7. Ukraine's air forces said Russia launched a total of 352 exploding drones and decoys overnight, with 11 ballistic missiles and five cruise missiles. It added air defences intercepted or jammed 339 drones and 15 missiles prior to reaching their targets. 8. Russia's Defence Ministry said its air defences shot down 23 Ukrainian drones overnight into Monday. 9. The strike took place amid Zelensky set to participate in the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) summit in The Hague that starts on Tuesday. He has urged to rally support for his country, while also lowering its dependence on military lifelines, particularly from the US. 10. Zelenskiy has sought Western allies to commit 0.25% of their GDP to support Ukraine's defense industry next year. Meanwhile, Ukraine has secured $43 billion to boost production and purchase drones, artillery, and other weapons.
