In Brief: Chennai-Bengaluru route gets upgrade

The Bengaluru-Nangali road that connects Bengaluru to eastern parts of the country like Chennai, Tirupati and beyond will soon be six-laned.Currently, the stretch from KR Puram to Hoskote is already six-laned, while the road from Hoskote to Nangali (Karnataka-Andhra Pradesh border) remains four-laned. With increasing traffic congestion on the latter section, road accidents have also been on the rise, prompting action from authorities.confirmed that a proposal to widen the road into a six-lane highway, along with four service roads, has received approval. A detailed project report worth Rs.2,400 crore has been prepared. To enhance safety, the plan includes installing barricades and limiting entry and exit points to every 10 to 15 km. JSR toll concession on NH75 ended; project transferred to NHAI, noted Babu.

HCLTech bags mega deal likely worth over $1 billion from Volvo Group

Tata Motors Commits Rs 35,000 Crore To Expand EV And New Car Lineup
India's Tata Motors plans to invest up to 350 billion rupees ($4.1 billion or Rs 35,000 crore) over the next five years, aiming to cement its position as the country's top electric vehicle maker amid rising competition and a push to adopt clean cars. The maker of the Nexon and Punch sport utility vehicles will nearly double its portfolio from eight models to 15, launch more EVs and compressed natural gas cars as well as enhance the vehicles' technology features, according to its investor day presentation released on Monday. India, the world's third-largest car market, is planning stricter emission norms starting 2027 and wants EVs to form 30% of all car sales by 2030. Tata Motors did not share its investment plan for the current year to March 2026, but said last month the domestic businesses, including commercial vehicles, would have a capital expenditure of about 80 billion rupees. Intense competition in the combustion engine market has allowed rival Mahindra & Mahindra to overtake Tata. China's MG Motor has also challenged Tata's EV dominance with the "Windsor" model, outselling its products since late last year. Yet, Tata Motors maintained its target of 16% market share by March 2027, aiming to reach 18%-20% by March 2030. Kia Carens Clavis MPV Deliveries Begin: Check Price, Features, Specs
Kia India launched Carens Clavis in May 2025 in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 11.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Carrying forward the Carens badge with a premium appeal, the MPV's top-end variant comes priced at Rs 21.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The vehicle comes packed with features and multiple powertrain options. It competes against the likes of Maruti Suzuki XL6 in the country. The Kia Carens Clavis MPV features an entirely new design, with the front end showcasing elements such as three-pod LED headlights encased in a triangular layout, V-shaped LED daytime running lights, a blacked-out grille, and black cladding complemented by silver skid plates, contributing to its rugged look. Meanwhile, the overall shape of the vehicle remains consistent, but it now sports a fresh design for the dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels, chrome door handles, and silver roof rails. The features list for the Carens Clavis includes a dual-screen setup measuring 22.62 inches, the same configuration seen in the Seltos, comprising a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen. Furthermore, the Carens Clavis features ventilated front seats, redesigned AC vents and controls for the automatic climate control, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, four-way power-adjustable seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, among others. The Carens Clavis is fitted with ADAS Level 2 features and comes standard with six airbags, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, lane-keeping assist, smart cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, blind spot collision warning, and more. The Kia Carens Clavis offers three engine choices: a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine that produces 157 hp and 253 Nm of torque, a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine generating 113 hp and 143.8 Nm, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine delivering 113 hp and 250 Nm of torque.
