EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants Expands Private Client Practice with Chartwell Insurance Services Acquisition
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb 10, 2025--
EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants (' EPIC ') has acquired Chartwell Insurance Services ('Chartwell'), a Chicago-based firm specializing in personal property and liability solutions for successful individuals and families. This acquisition furthers the expansion of EPIC's private client practice, enhancing its ability to deliver specialized solutions nationwide while continuing to grow its presence in Chicago and the broader Midwest.
Chartwell, founded and led by Rebecca Korach Woan, is known for delivering personalized, niche services to discerning clients. The firm's focus includes collections of fine art, jewelry, and vintage cars, as well as comprehensive coverage for residences, automobiles and yachts. By joining EPIC, Chartwell strengthens its ability to provide tailored solutions while giving clients access to expanded resources and national expertise.
'This is an exciting step for our team as we join EPIC,' said Korach Woan. 'Our firm has always been dedicated to building trusted relationships and delivering highly customized solutions. Partnering with EPIC allows us to preserve that boutique approach while offering clients access to the broader capabilities and support of the national firm.'
This acquisition builds on EPIC's momentum in growing its private client practice, with Chicago remaining a critical market for expansion. It follows the 2024 integration of Phillips Bros. Insurance Agency, a multi-line firm that focuses on private client and commercial property & casualty solutions with deep roots in the region. These partnerships reinforce EPIC's investment in the Midwest and its ongoing commitment to serving high-net-worth clients with solutions that are customized to their unique priorities.
'Chartwell's reputation for specialized expertise and client service makes them an ideal addition to EPIC,' said Kevin Daley, President, EPIC Private Client. 'Rebecca and her team share our dedication to delivering tailored solutions and trusted guidance, and we are thrilled to welcome them as we continue to expand in Chicago and beyond.'

Jetstar Asia closure: Some customers confused, frustrated by poor communication; Taiwan earthquake: 5.9-magnitude offshore quake rattles Taiwan: Singapore live news
The Jetstar Asia closure has left some customers confused and frustrated over conflicting information, or a lack thereof. The Singapore-based airlines, operated by Qantas Group, announced on Wednesday (11 June) morning that it would be ceasing operations from 31 July. They added that Jetstar Asia flights would be operating with a "progressively reduced schedule". For a customer identified as Daniel, he told CNA that he didn't realise the schedule would be "progressively reduced" prior to its closure. Taiwan was struck by an earthquake on Wednesday (11 June) evening, with the quake hitting seconds after cell phone alarms went off at 7.01pm. The quake about 71 kilometres south of Hualien City. According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake had a magnitude of 5.9 and was detected at a depth of 31.1 kilometres. Taiwan's Central Weather Administration gave the magnitude as 6.4. A firefighter in Chenggong told AFP that when the quake hit, "the computer screen and fan shook heavily". He added, "It was much stronger than previous quakes. I immediately thought about running outside." For more on the Taiwan earthquake, read here. For a customer identified as Daniel, he told CNA that he didn't realise the schedule would be "progressively reduced" prior to its closure. Hence, he thought his two planned trips in July – one to Bangkok, another to Okinawa - would not be affected. On Wednesday morning, though, he received an email confirming that his trip to Bangkok was cancelled, so he made plans to book another flight. Daniel said the email also included his "specific booking reference". Yet, when his friend called the Jetstar Asia's hotline, they were told the flight was still going ahead as planned. He now feels uncertain about his flight to Okinawa and it's not clear which flights would be cut from Jetstar Asia's schedule before it closes. 'I'm wondering, when would they tell me about it? Or how late would they tell me about it?' For more on how customers are affected by the Jetstar Asia closure, read here. Vantage Foundation Joins The Habbit Factory to Empower Young Voices Through Creative Confidence
LONDON, June 11, 2025 /CNW/ -- Vantage Foundation is proud to support The Habbit Factory, a London-based charity that uses the power of theatre and creativity to help children build self-confidence, resilience, and a sense of self-expression. This partnership reflects Vantage Foundation's commitment to community engagement and inclusive empowerment for young people – especially those from underserved or disadvantaged backgrounds. The Habbit Factory has been a champion of creative youth development for over 20 years. With a focus on inclusiveness and emotional support, the organisation designs theatre-based programmes for children and teens to improve public speaking, storytelling, and personal confidence. Today, the charity supports 156 young people through its membership programme and reaches hundreds more through school outreach and education partnerships. As part of its continued mission to uplift communities, Vantage Foundation volunteers joined The Habbit Factory's creative workshop, lending their time and energy to inspire the next generation. Among them was Ben Joseph, who brought his background in dance and performing arts to the session. "Many of these children come from disadvantaged backgrounds and may lack self-esteem or confidence," said Ben Joseph. "By earning their trust and creating a supportive space, we help them grow, express themselves, and discover who they are. The Habbit Factory is a safe and empowering place for every child, and I'm proud to have contributed to something so meaningful." The charity's impact is driven largely by volunteers – many of whom are former participants who return to give back. This cycle of mentorship and transformation lies at the heart of The Habbit Factory's enduring success. "We thoroughly enjoyed hosting the Vantage Foundation at The Habbit Factory. It was a meaningful opportunity for both teams to connect, share ideas, and learn from each other's approaches to community impact," said Lee Giles, Artistic Director & CEO of The Habbit Factory. "Supporting The Habbit Factory aligns deeply with our mission at Vantage Foundation," said Steven Xie, Executive Director of the Vantage Foundation. "We believe in building confidence through creativity and connection. Seeing our volunteers actively participate in such a powerful, community-led initiative reaffirms our commitment to creating meaningful impact in the lives of young people." Together, Vantage Foundation and The Habbit Factory demonstrate the incredible potential of partnerships rooted in compassion, creativity, and shared purpose. Through this collaboration, they aim to build a future where every child has not only the voice – but also the confidence – to use it. Vantage Foundation Vantage Foundation is an independent charitable organization launched at the McLaren Technology Centre in the UK in 2023.
