Drugs and weapons seized from stolen Windsor vehicle found in London
The London Police Service has seized drugs and weapons from a stolen vehicle located in London, leading to the arrest of two suspects.
On Monday, a Windsor car dealership reported a red two-door Ford Mustang as stolen.
The next day, a woman reported her license plate was stolen from a vehicle on Scene Drive, London. Later in the day on Tuesday, a motorcycle was reported stolen from a Woodstock address.
On Wednesday just after midnight, a London police officer saw the red Mustang with the stolen license plate attached to it near Wharncliffe Road South and Commissioners Road.
More officers came to the scene to help, when the suspect reportedly drove the vehicle over the median near the intersection of Wellington Road and Commissioners Road East, fleeing from police.
The suspect vehicle was later found in the downtown core. The driver ran from officers, but was found shortly after in east London.
Police said they saw the suspect leave the vehicle, struggling with the door of a Dodge Caravan. Officers believed he was trying to steal the van, so moved their cruisers in front, so the two vehicles couldn't leave. A passenger in the Mustang then allegedly pushed the gas, running into and damaging the cop car.
A male and female suspect were both arrested at the scene. No injuries were reported.
A search warrant was executed and police seized:
2.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine
A butterfly knife
One gram of suspected cocaine
The motorcycle previously reported stolen.
A 33-year-old man and a 39-year old woman are both facing charges for possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
The man has also been charged with:
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device
Dangerous operation of a conveyance
Failure to comply with a release order
Operation while prohibited
Failure to stop for police/pursuit
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Possession of a schedule one substance.
The woman is also charged with one count of possession of a schedule one substance.
