Jordan Condemns Decision to Approve Construction of 22 New Settlements
Amman - (Saba):
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned, on Thursday, the so-called Israeli Cabinet's decision to approve the construction of 22 new settlements in the West Bank, Palestine.
In a statement, the Ministry affirmed that this decision is a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and a clear violation of the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent, sovereign state on the June 4, 1967, lines, with occupied Quds as its capital.
The Ministry's official spokesperson, Sufyan Qudah, said that Jordan categorically rejects and condemns this decision, which violates UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2334, which condemns all Israeli measures aimed at changing the demographic composition, character, and status of the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, including occupied Quds.
He pointed out that the UN Security Council resolution affirms that all Israeli settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territory, including occupied Quds, are illegal under international law.
The judges noted that the Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice affirmed the necessity of ending the Israeli occupation, the illegality of settlement construction, and the invalidity of all measures to annex the occupied Palestinian territory, in deliberate disregard of ongoing international demands to halt settlement activities and violations in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The judges affirmed that all Israeli measures and decisions in the West Bank are illegal and illegitimate, emphasizing that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territory.
The Jordanian official called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and compel the Israeli enemy to halt its aggression against Gaza and its dangerous escalation in the West Bank, provide the necessary protection for the Palestinian people, halt the crimes against them, and hold those responsible accountable.

Union Event in Geneva in Solidarity with Palestinian People

Dutch Prime Minister announces resignation
The Hague – SABA Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof announced his resignation following the withdrawal of the far-right Freedom Party (PVV) from the governing coalition stating he intends to submit the government's resignation to King Willem-Alexander.
