Family asks for help finding missing man last seen almost 1 month ago in Thompson
Social Sharing A family in northern Manitoba say they are living a nightmare after a relative went missing nearly a month ago, and they're now asking for help to find him. Troy Gilbert Saultier, 24, was reported missing from an address on Ashberry Place in Thompson on May 14, Manitoba RCMP previously said in a news release. Saultier's older sister Karalyn McDonald last saw her brother on May 11 around 4:35 p.m. outside 71 Ashberry Pl., she told the media at a news conference in Thompson Friday. "This has been an incredibly difficult time for our family. We are heartbroken and desperate for answers," McDonald said. "If anybody has seen my brother or has information, anything big or small, your help will make all the difference." RCMP said Mounties in Thompson are working with the Manitoba Integrated Missing Persons unit to find Saultier, who is also wanted by police to face criminal charges. Police are "thoroughly following up with any information coming their way" and "doing everything they can to locate Troy," an RCMP spokesperson said. Saultier is wanted in connection with uttering threats, sexual assault with choking, assault while choking, breaking and entering, and failing to comply with release orders, RCMP said. However, police said their main concern at this time is to "solve this missing person investigation." 'It's a nightmare' Dwight Saultier, Troy's brother, said his family has been in contact with the RCMP, but officers have not given them any substantive update since. "Everybody we talk to says it is above their pay grade," he said at the news conference. "Superiors are not getting back at us." Dwight said his brother has never travelled out of the province, and Thompson is one of only two places he has ever been. Last month, RCMP said they believed Troy was still in Thompson. The city of around 13,000 people, located about 650 kilometres north of Winnipeg, has become a hub of activity for Manitoba wildfire evacuations, with a congregate shelter set up for evacuees in recent days. Saultier's father is also appealing to the public for any information anyone might have. "Come forward with any information.… Help bring my baby boy home safe and sound, where he belongs," Dwight Saultier said. "Point us in the right direction. "It is a nightmare right now. We can't wake up from it until we bring it home." Saultier is five feet, three inches tall and weighs 110 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing blue clothing, RCMP previously said. His family said he has tattoos on his right arm, including in his hand.
