Kirk Medas dies at 33 from liver failure after ICU battle with pancreatitis
Kirk Medas, star of MTV's Floribama Shore, has died at the age of 33 following a two-week stay in the ICU due to necrotizing pancreatitis, which ultimately led to liver failure, his family confirmed to TMZ.
The reality star, who appeared in 25 episodes of the series from 2017 to 2020, passed away just hours after his former castmates publicly pleaded for support and prayers.
Aimee Hall, Medas' close friend and castmate, initially announced his passing in a heartfelt Facebook post that has since been deleted. She described the moment she felt his loss while at the beach, symbolized by a dolphin—something she and Medas both loved. 'Though my heart is shattered, I find peace in knowing he's no longer in pain,' she wrote. 'He truly was the glue that held us all close.'
Hall and fellow cast member Nilsa Prowant had shared news of Medas' condition earlier, explaining that he had been placed on a ventilator and sedated. The pair also promoted a GoFundMe campaign, originally created to help with his medical bills, which has since been updated to assist with funeral arrangements. It has raised over $27,000.
An MTV spokesperson said, 'We are deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Kirk Medas. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and fans during this difficult time.'
Necrotizing pancreatitis is a severe condition in which inflamed pancreatic tissue begins to die, leading to potentially fatal complications. The Cleveland Clinic notes it can result in both short- and long-term organ damage.
Medas is remembered for his vibrant personality, loyal friendships, and lasting impact on Floribama Shore fans.

Eminem sues Meta for $109 million over unlicensed use of his music
Eminem is suing Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, for copyright infringement, accusing the tech giant of distributing over 200 of his songs without permission. The lawsuit, filed by Eminem's music publishing company, Eight Mile Style, on May 30, seeks damages of up to $109 million. Eight Mile Style claims that Meta made Eminem's songs available in its Music Libraries, allowing users to utilise features like Original Audio and Reels Remix. As a result, the rapper's songs were incorporated into millions of videos and streamed billions of times across the platforms. The lawsuit alleges that Meta infringed on the copyrights of 243 of Eminem's songs, accusing the company of the "unauthorized storage, reproduction, and exploitation" of the tracks. Eight Mile Style also claims that this infringement has led to a "diminished value" of the songs and caused financial losses for the company. The lawsuit seeks statutory damages of up to $150,000 per song, per platform, which could result in a total of $109.35 million in damages. In addition to monetary compensation, Eight Mile Style is also requesting a jury trial. A Meta spokesperson told The Independant that the company had been negotiating with Eight Mile Style in good faith but was faced with a lawsuit instead of continued discussions.

Netizens react as ‘Love Island USA' season 7 contestant Yulissa Escobar exits show amid racist clips backlash
Yulissa Escobar has unexpectedly left Love Island USA Season 7 shortly after the series' second episode. The reason behind her departure has not been officially revealed, but the timing follows the resurfacing of clips in which she reportedly uses racial slurs. In episode two, series narrator Ian Stirling made a brief announcement about 18 minutes in, saying, 'Yulissa has left the villa.' Escobar had been coupled up with Ace Greene, but Stirling also mentioned that Greene was now single. While Peacock has yet to comment on the situation, the controversy surrounding Escobar began shortly after the season seven cast was announced. Clips from a podcast, which were obtained by TMZ, show Escobar allegedly using the N-word multiple times. The backlash was swift on social media, with many calling for accountability. Escobar has not yet responded to the allegations as she remains in the villa, where contestants are not allowed to have personal phones. Fans have expressed mixed reactions on social media, with some celebrating her exit, while others criticise the producers for allowing such behaviour to continue on the show. One user on X questioned, 'How did TikTok do more of a background check on that Yulissa girl than the Love Island producers?' Taylor Swift pregnancy rumors swirl after viral photo with Travis Kelce
Taylor Swift is once again at the center of pregnancy rumors after a viral photo led fans to speculate she might be expecting her first child with boyfriend Travis Kelce. The pop star was spotted wearing a black dress in front of a car of the same shade, and a visual illusion sparked Swifties' imaginations, with many convinced they saw a baby bump. The image, originally shared by the X account NFLNotify, quickly triggered debate online. One user wrote, 'I thought Travis Kelce was becoming a dad for a sec,' while others chimed in with similar reactions, prompting widespread speculation. I thought Travis Kelce was becoming a dad for a sec — NFL Notifications (@NFLNotify) June 2, 2025 However, the optical illusion was due to the dark coloring of the car's front tires, not an actual baby bump. There has been no confirmation from Swift or Kelce regarding a pregnancy. This isn't the first time pregnancy rumors have followed the couple. Earlier this year, Travis Kelce's mother, Donna Kelce, shared a Facebook post about her newest granddaughter—Jason Kelce's fourth child. One friend commented, 'Trav's going to make a wonderful father, just like Jason!' Donna's response—a simple red heart emoji—fueled even more speculation among fans. Adding to the buzz, Travis once joked about baby names during an interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger on the New Heights podcast. 'I might name my first kid Conan. I might,' Kelce laughed. While Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have not addressed the rumors, their high-profile relationship continues to attract intense fan attention and speculation. As of now, there's no official news confirming a Swift-Kelce baby on the way—just a viral moment that had the internet guessing.
