OPEN// German FM describes Egypt as 'strategic partner, gateway to Africa'
CAIRO, June 13 (MENA) - German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul on Friday lauded Egypt as a strategic partner and Berlin's gateway to Africa, emphasizing strong bilateral cooperation across various sectors. He expressed pride in the bilateral partnership, which he described as solid and multifaceted. Speaking at a joint press conference with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty, Wadephul noted that Egypt enjoys a strong reputation in Germany, adding that German students are well acquainted with Egyptian history, and that around half a million Egyptians are currently learning the German language, reflecting deep cultural ties between the two nations. On security coordination and economic cooperation, Wadephul emphasized the strategic importance of the Suez Canal, calling it one of the world's most vital maritime trade routes. He stressed that it must remain open and secure, particularly in light of regional tensions in the Red Sea, and warned against any terrorist threats that could disrupt maritime navigation. The German minister also emphasized his country's openness to cooperation with Egypt in all fields, especially regarding qualified Egyptian professionals, noting a particular interest in German-speaking talent for opportunities in Germany. One in Every Four New Enterprise Clients in H1 2025 Switched From Global CXM Vendors to Lucidya - Middle East Business News and Information
Lucidya, the region's leading AI Customer Experience Management (CXM) platform, announced that one in every four new enterprise clients in H1 2025 made the switch from global CXM vendors. This milestone underscores a growing shift toward platforms purpose-built for Arabic-speaking markets and region-specific regulatory needs. Clients cite Lucidya's advanced Arabic natural language processing, deep CX focus, and regional expertise as decisive factors. The platform currently supports over 15 Arabic dialects with 92% sentiment analysis accuracy, significantly outperforming global alternatives. A key driver behind this shift is Lucidya's alignment with local data privacy regulations, including compliance with Saudi Arabia's National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) guidelines and Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL). This makes Lucidya the preferred choice for highly regulated sectors such as government, telecom, and finance. 'Arabic AI accuracy and regional CX leadership are driving this exciting market shift,' said Muhannad Al Shaikh, Chief Commercial Officer at Lucidya. 'Clients choose Lucidya because they see measurable results. Our technology understands context, is fully compliant with local and global regulations, and delivers insights that drive real impact.' This momentum follows a series of strategic leadership appointments earlier this year that have strengthened Lucidya's commercial, product, and go-to-market capabilities, further accelerating regional expansion.

Turkiye-Based AI Firm VenueX Raises $1.2 Million to Expand into MENA
Istanbul-based startup VenueX raised $1.2 million to accelerate its entry into the UAE and Saudi markets, aiming to scale its AI-powered platform that connects digital ads to in-store sales. Jun 13, 2025 VenueX, a Turkiye-based AI startup focused on retail marketing automation, has raised $1.2 million in a bridge investment round to support its expansion into the Middle East and North Africa. The round was led by Singapore's Orbit Startups, with participation from Re-Pie, Akkök, and Akyasam. Founded in 2022, VenueX launched its unified digital advertising platform in April 2024, and has since onboarded 25 paying clients. The platform helps retail brands connect their digital advertising spend to in-store sales using AI agents that analyse budgets, inventory, and customer behaviour in real time. The aim is to create data-informed, automated campaigns that minimise manual oversight. With the new capital, VenueX plans to establish offices in Dubai and Riyadh, build local sales and market teams, and scale its partnerships across Turkiye. The company also intends to grow its internal teams in growth, data science, and business development, while continuing to evolve its platform into a fully autonomous marketing solution. Current development goals include enhancing AI agents for inventory optimisation, creative generation, and customer segmentation. VenueX's expansion comes amid rising regional demand for AI-driven retail tools that can bridge online customer acquisition with offline conversion—particularly in digitally transforming markets like the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
