HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Holyoke Mall is reminding visitors of a parental escort policy on Fridays and Saturdays for those under 18 years old.
A parent or guardian must be present for those under 18 years old in the mall from 4 p.m. to closing. One person over 21 years old is allowed to supervise up to five underage and must remain with them the entire visit. To verify proof of age, the parent or guardian can provide a driver's license, state/provincial non-driver ID, military or college ID, passport or visa.

The Holyoke Mall said that this policy does not apply to stores with exterior entrances such as Target, JCPenney's, Macy's, and Round 1.

Discounted tickets will allow attendees to visit the Big E Fair for half off the regular general admission price, Monday through Thursday. With purchasing these tickets, you get access to free concerts like The Marshall Tucker Band, Sister Hazel, and Elliot Lurie of Looking Glass on the Court of Honor Stage, plus the Circus Spectacular, Country-themed shows at Dolly's Honky Tonk, grounds attractions and variety performances for only $10.75. SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The western Massachusetts Ironman triathlon will return to the Springfield area this Sunday. The sporting event, which draws in thousands of athletes, will consist of a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike ride, and a 13.1-mile run. Athletes will start with a downriver swim in the Connecticut River. The biking portion will take place from Springfield, Agawam, into parts of Connecticut, Southwick, Westfield, and West Springfield. Today's Weather Forecast Discussion Athletes have 8 and a half hours to complete the entire race. Participants have 1 hour and 10 minutes to finish the swim course, which kicks off at 6 a.m. The 56-mile bike ride will close 5 and a half hours after the last athlete enters the water. Bike riders who do not reach the checkpoint on Fowler Road in Westfield by 10:30 a.m. will no longer be permitted to continue. The run course will close 8 and a half hours after the last athlete enters the water. CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – While those in Massachusetts usually need a license to fish in freshwater, it won't be mandatory during Free Freshwater Fishing Weekend. During the first weekend of June, anyone is free to fish at any lake, pond, reservoir, stream, or river in the state, whether you have a fishing license or not. Free Freshwater Fishing Weekend takes place this year from midnight on June 7 until 11:59 p.m. on June 8. Holyoke Farmers' Market kicks off 2025 season Throughout this special weekend, all other regulations, including catch limits, apply. Massachusetts residents are encouraged to review fishing regulations by MassWildlife before diving in headfirst this upcoming weekend. Aside from the event, if you are 15 or older, you are required to have a license to be able to fish in freshwater. The license comes free of charge if you are 15-17 or 70 and older. Anglers who prefer to fish in saltwater had the opportunity to take part in a 2025 Free Saltwater Fishing Day on May 11 and will get to do so again on June 15. Funds from fishing license sales go towards MassWildlife's fisheries research, fish stocking programs, and angler education programs.
