The 10 funniest New Era MLB Overlap hats, from 'Bobon' to 'Ashos'
New Era's new MLB Overlap hats for 2025 -- in which they put the logos of teams over the names of said teams -- have become a source of a lot of humor for baseball fans everywhere.
It's not just because one of the hats had an accidental vulgar message on it -- that would be the Texas Rangers cap that was eventually pulled by New Era. It's because many of them formed new words thanks to the way the logos and letters lined up.
So we decided to rank the 10 funniest New Era MLB Overlap hats, because they're hilarious. Here they are, in no particular order:

Bruce Bochy moves up all-time ejection leaderboard vs. White Sox
The post Bruce Bochy moves up all-time ejection leaderboard vs. White Sox appeared first on ClutchPoints. Adolis Garcia came through with a clutch RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning, giving the Texas Rangers the walk-off win against the Chicago White Sox on Saturday. The hard-fought 5-4 victory was the Rangers' third straight win. But manager Bruce Bochy didn't see it. Advertisement In the previous inning, Bochy was convinced the third base umpire incorrectly rang up Corey Seager on a check swing. The argument continued between innings and Bochy got ejected. It was the veteran manager's 88th-career ejection, tying him with Frankie Frisch for sixth on the all-time list, per Kennedi Landry. Bruce Bochy fires up Rangers with ejection Brad Penner-Imagn Images The Rangers had something cooking in the bottom of the 10th. Seager stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and two out looking to end the game with a base hit. On a 2-2 count, White Sox reliever Tyler Alexander threw an 82 mph sweeper out of the zone and Seager chased, possibly pulling his bat back at the last second. Advertisement The appeal was made to the third base umpire, who said Seager went around and the inning ended with three base runners stranded. Thirteen different pitchers were used in the 11-inning game. The White Sox sent seven pitchers to the mound while the Rangers employed six. But Jacob deGrom drew the start for Texas and the two-time Cy Young winner continued his dominant streak. DeGrom allowed two runs on five hits and zero walks with six strikeouts in six innings. Despite the quality start, deGrom exited with his team trailing 2-1 as the Rangers' offense struggled early on. However, Texas scored two runs in the seventh to take a 3-2 lead, ensuring deGrom wouldn't get the loss. In a bounce-back season after two injury-plagued years, deGrom is now 6-2 with a 2.19 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 2.4 bWAR in 14 starts. There have been trade rumors involving deGrom this season, based on the Rangers' slow start. However, given the veteran ace's injury history, a robust market is unlikely to develop. Advertisement The Rangers have actually won six of their last seven games, improving to 35-36. But Texas remains in third place in the AL West and 5.5 games behind the division-leading Houston Astros. The disappointing season could be Bochy's last as the 70-year-old manager could walk away after 2025. If Bochy does decide to depart, the Rangers will likely replace him with Skip Schumaker. Marcus Semien May Be Starting To Round Into Form For The Texas Rangers
The 2025 season started off as a disaster for Marcus Semien. In his first 56 games, the former MVP finalist slashed .173/.260/.224, with twice as many strikeouts as walks. The Texas Rangers, as a whole, were not hitting, and Semien (along with the newly-acquired Joc Pederson) was a big part of the problem. Semien, who has hit at the top of the order for nearly his entire career, was moved down to the nine hole for four games (that didn't help). Manager Bruce Bochy has moved him around the lineup trying to find a place where he might feel more comfortable this season. His three games batting sixth helped (1.100 OPS), and he is currently batting clean-up. In his last 14 games (eight of which have been batting fourth), he is slashing .404/.466/.731, with four home runs and 12 RBI. He may have found his groove. 2023 was an incredible year for the former shortstop turned second baseman. He led the league in games played and plate appearance (all for the fourth year in a row, not counting the Covid-shortened 2020 season). He led the league in runs scored (with 122) and total hits (185). He slugged 29 home runs and knocked in 100. He was an All-Star, won the Silver Slugger Award, and came in third in MVP voting. That was the end of an awesome three-year stretch where he slashed .263/.329/.482, and averaged 33 home runs and 95 RBI per season. Over those three years he accumulated 20.5 bWAR. But then came 2024. After having an .826 OPS in 2023, last season Semien slashed .237/.308/.391 (.699 OPS). He still managed 23 home runs, but that was his lowest total since 2018 (excluding 2020). Semien is 34 years old, so it would not be unheard of for him to fall off precipitously. We have seen that with players in their mid-30s, time and again. But Semien has always seemed like a different type of player – a professional hitter who would find his way. Bochy, a Hall of Fame manager, seemed to agree, as he wrote Semien's name into the lineup 159 times last season, despite his struggles; and he has done so in 70 of 71 games so far this year. When in doubt, it is always safe to trust the skipper who has seen and forgotten more about baseball than the fans will ever know. It may be that Semien has righted the ship and is on his way to his typical 110 OPS+ season playing every day and providing steady offense and defense. It may be that he just got off to a slow start, and this was a case of small sample size. For his career, Semien has always started slowly, with March/April historically being his worst months. When the weather warms, so too does his bat. This year it just took a little longer. In May, when he typically hits .263/.330/.414, saw him hit .207/.302/.272. But his teammates and his team did not give up on him, and he is repaying their loyalty (it does not hurt that he is in just the fourth year of a seven-year deal that will ultimately pay him $175 million). As of this writing, the Rangers look to be making a move, and now are only one game under .500, having won three in a row and six of their last seven. They are in third place, 5.5 games out of first. More importantly, they would need to jump four teams to make the Wild Card. But, there is still a lot of baseball to be played. If the Rangers plan to keep building on their current run, with the hope of playing baseball in the Metroplex in October, they will need for Semien's last 14 games to not be an aberration, but a sign of things to come.

García delivers 6th career walk-off in 11th, lifts Rangers to 5-4 win over White Sox
ARLINGTON, TEXAS - JUNE 14: Texas Rangers players celebrate a walk-off single by teammate Adolis Garcia #53 during the eleventh inning against the Chicago White Sox at Globe Life Field on June 14, 2025 in Arlington, Texas. / Getty Images ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) – Adolis García delivered his sixth career walk-off hit with a two-out RBI single in the 11th inning, lifting the Texas Rangers to a 5-4 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Saturday night. García lined the first pitch from reliever Tyler Alexander (3-7) to the wall in center field, scoring automatic runner Evan Carter. It was the only hit Alexander allowed over three innings. Rangers starter Jacob deGrom gave up two runs over six innings with six strikeouts. He exited after 82 pitches, trailing 2-1. Jacob Latz (1-0) earned the win with two hitless innings and three strikeouts. Chicago's Kyle Teel ended deGrom's 15-inning scoreless streak with a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Luis Robert Jr. followed with an RBI single for a 2-0 lead. Josh Smith doubled to lead off the fifth against reliever Brandon Eisert and scored on Corey Seager's one-out double, cutting the deficit to 2-1. Smith went 2 for 5 - his sixth straight multi-hit game - and scored twice. Wyatt Langford singled to open the seventh off Grant Taylor. Seager walked for a career-high ninth straight game, and Marcus Semien doubled to tie it. Seager scored on a wild pitch to give Texas a 3-2 lead. Mike Tauchman tied it with an RBI single in the eighth, and Michael A. Taylor's pinch-hit RBI double in the ninth made it 4-4. White Sox rookie Mike Vasil threw a career-high 71 pitches in his second career start, stranding six runners over four scoreless innings. Alexander loaded the bases with two outs in the 10th before striking out Seager on a check swing, prompting Rangers manager Bruce Bochy's 88th career ejection. DeGrom hasn't allowed more than two runs in a start since April 11 against Seattle - a span of 11 starts, surpassing his previous best with the Mets. Texas has not announced a starter for Sunday's series finale. Chicago will send RHP Aaron Civale (1-2, 4.91 ERA) to the mound in his first start since being acquired from Milwaukee on Friday.
