The ballad arrives after about a week of Cyrus teasing it on social media, eventually sharing a black-and-white preview of 'More to Lose' on her YouTube channel two days ahead of its release. In one clip posted to Instagram, the Grammy winner shared snippets of the song while describing how it came together in the studio.
'I tried to keep it a singular take,' she explained to followers, addressing the camera in an elegant black dress. 'It's really a song that's more of a story, and I never want that to be interrupted or overthought or chasing perfection. I never wanted 'More to Lose' to be perfect, I wanted it to sound beautiful and emotional.'
Following 'Prelude,' 'End of the World' and Something Beautiful's title track, 'More to Lose' marks the fourth song fans have gotten to hear from the album ahead of its May 30 release. At a recent Spotify listening event in New York City, Cyrus revealed that she thinks the 13-track project is 'not only my best album, but also my gayest.'

Kendrick Lamar Beats His Own Historic Record
Kendrick Lamar and SZA's 'Luther' breaks an all-time Billboard record with 23 weeks at No. 1 on the ... More Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. (Photo by Christopher Polk/Billboard via Getty Images) Earlier this year, Kendrick Lamar broke the all-time record for the most weeks spent at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The rapper had long stood out as one of the most inventive and commercially successful names in the genre, but he reached new heights with "Not Like Us." The track, which officially ended his feud with Drake — at least in terms of the two musicians releasing songs aimed at one another — has propelled Lamar into even more elite territory. Just months after he made Billboard history with what may be regarded as his most popular cut ever, Lamar has bested his own record, proving himself to truly be in a league all his own. "Luther" leads the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs ranking again this frame. The tune has dominated the tally — which highlights the most consumed tracks in the hip-hop, R&B, and rap styles — for 23 of the 27 weeks it has appeared on the roster. That figure now stands as the most weeks any track has lived at No. 1. Last week, "Luther" tied "Not Like Us" as the longest-reigning champion in the history of the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs tally. "Not Like Us" has now been pushed to second place on this historic ranking. That tune only reset this best showing earlier in 2025, though it first reached the summit in 2024. Lamar now claims the two longest-running leaders ever on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, but he's not alone in this latest feat. "Luther" features SZA, who for a while owned this record solo as well. Her smash "Kill Bill" reigned for 21 weeks at No. 1 between 2022 and 2023, and for a time, that stood as the most impressive run in the ranking's history. Thanks to "Luther," SZA is now responsible for two of the three longest-running smashes on the chart. "Luther" recently fell from the top spot on the Hot 100, where it reigned for months, but it's still living inside the top five. The collaboration is also in charge of half a dozen tallies in the U.S., and it remains inside the top 10 on at least 16 rankings. It seems likely to hold on for quite some time, as the cut is still performing exceptionally well on streaming sites and via radio.

Selena Gomez Jumps Back To No. 1
Selena Gomez's latest album I Said I Love You First turned out to be something of a slight commercial disappointment when it arrived earlier this spring. The full-length — her first team-up with fiancé Benny Blanco — missed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 by just one space and has largely disappeared from the Billboard charts. The project itself is nowhere to be found, but several tunes featured on its tracklist remain popular in America. This week, one of them returns Gomez, Blanco, and another featured act to the No. 1 spot on a recently-introduced tally. Gomez, her fiancé, and the band The Marías are back in charge of the Hot Latin Pop Songs chart. The three musical acts return to the summit with "Ojos Tristes," which jumps from No. 2 to No. 1 this frame. "Ojos Tristes" has now spent seven weeks at No. 1 on the Hot Latin Pop Songs chart. The track has only lived on the tally for nine weeks — the entirety of the ranking's lifetime — as Billboard only introduced it alongside several other Latin lists earlier in 2025. The only other hit single to reach No. 1 on the Hot Latin Pop Songs chart is "Milagros" by Karol G. That tune soared to the top spot in its second frame and held there for two stays. Now, it has swapped spots with "Ojos Tristes," dipping to the runner-up space and making room once again for Gomez, Blanco, and The Marías to lead the charge. As it dominates the Hot Latin Pop Songs tally, "Ojos Tristes" is also still a winner on the Hot Latin Songs list. On that roster, the track reaches a milestone 10 weeks and holds at No. 21 after once peaking at No. 3. "Ojos Tristes" is one of two cuts taken from I Said I Love You First that still appear on Billboard's rankings, months after the full-length first appeared. "Bluest Flame" can be found on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs tally this week. Just like "Ojos Tristes," it reaches its tenth stint this time around and holds at No. 12.

Hozier's First No. 1 Mounts A Big Comeback As A Sudden Bestseller
For many years, Hozier's career was defined by one hit single, 'Take Me to Church.' The breakout hit introduced the Irish singer-songwriter to the general public back in 2013, and it became a global sensation. In the years since, Hozier has released several successful albums, but no tune managed to match the popularity of the track that started it all— a t least, not until 2024. Last spring, 'Too Sweet' arrived and instantly became yet another worldwide phenomenon. In the year-plus since it dropped, the Hozier cut has, in many ways, outperformed its predecessor. This week, it even manages to bolt back onto several Billboard rankings, as listeners in the United States can't seem to get enough of the track. This frame, 'Too Sweet' performs especially well in terms of pure purchases, as the single returns to a pair of purchase-only tallies. 'Too Sweet' reenters the Alternative Digital Song Sales chart at No. 10. It's also back on the Rock Digital Song Sales ranking at No. 15. The cut had previously dominated both lists and spent at least 60 weeks on the two rankings. 'Too Sweet' isn't only a bestseller. The track also returns to Billboard's Streaming Songs chart. Notably, while Hozier's cut only appears on genre-specific sales rankings, it manages to find a home on the all-style, all-encompassing Streaming Songs list. The track has spent 48 weeks on that roster, and has already reached the summit. 'Too Sweet' manages to find space on more than half a dozen other Billboard lists this frame. It does appear on the global charts, but performs best in the United States. The smash lives inside the top five on several other lists, such as the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs (No. 2), Hot Rock Songs (No. 1), and Hot Alternative Songs (No. 2) charts. 'Too Sweet' is not Hozier's only charting success in the U.S. at the moment. 'Take Me to Church' holds at No. 20 on the Alternative Streaming Songs ranking. Meanwhile, 'Do I Wanna Know (Live at BBC)' — a cover of the Arctic Monkeys classic — is steady at No. 42 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs list.
