The 2025 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup resumes this week, with the round of 32 set to take place on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The 16 MLS teams in this year's competition enter in the round of 32, with each of those drawn against teams from a lower division. The second-tier USL Championship will provide the opponent in 12 of those matches, with three teams from USL League One (Chattanooga Red Wolves, Union Omaha, AV Alta FC) and one from MLS Next Pro (Tacoma Defiance) also involved.
Paramount+ will carry each of the 16 games in the round of 32, with select matches also streaming on CBS Sports Golazo Network and airing on CBS Sports Network.
Defending champion LAFC will not participate this season as MLS — following a 2024 fan backlash after the league tried to withdraw all of its teams from the Open Cup — announced a two-tournament cap for all teams outside of regular-season and playoff competition.
The final of this year's Open Cup will take place on Oct. 1, with the winner securing a spot in the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup.
