
Jal Jeevan Mission: 50 mandals to get drinking water supply
Vijayawada: NTR district Collector G Lakshmisha said the government has constituted a water grid to supply drinking water to 50 mandals in Krishna, NTR and Eluru districts under the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme.
Lakshmisha participated in the video conference conducted by the Jal Jeevan Mission officials from Delhi and explained the details of the water grid and the goals set by the mission to ensure drinking water supply to every household. He informed that 337 drinking water works worth Rs 2,000 crore are underway in NTR district and likely to be completed by August 2025.
He said drinking water will be supplied to Nandigama and Jaggaiahpet constituencies from Pulichintala project and drinking water will be supplied from Ibrahimpatnam VTPS cooling canal to the villages in Mylavaram, G Konduru, Tiruvuru and A Konduru mandals.
He informed that Krishna water from Gollapudi will be supplied to 10 mandals in Eluru district and 24 mandals in Krishna district.
He said Tiruvuru, Vissannapeta, G Konduru mandals in NTR district will get drinking water under Jal Jeevan Mission.
The Jal Jeevan higher officials from Delhi discussed the implementation of Jal Jeevan mission, hurdles being faced and solutions to be taken to ensure supply of drinking water to every household.

This year, the UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 was held on May 25 (Sunday) in two shifts, with each shift spanning two hours. The exam consisted of: General Studies Paper 1 and General Studies Paper 2 (CSAT). After passing the UPSC Civil Services Exam, candidates selected for IAS, IPS, and IFS will go to Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA). This course lasts for three weeks. Selected students for IPS will then undergo additional training at the Police Academy in Hyderabad. LBSNAA IAS training lasts two years. While IPS candidates start with a three-month foundation course at LBSNAA, then move on to 11 months of training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) in Hyderabad. After this, they spend six months in practical training in their designated area, followed by a one-month training back at SVPNPA. Salary of IAS, IPS Officers Trainee IAS and IPS officers receive a stipend of around Rs 40,000 per month. While their actual salary is Rs 56,000 monthly, various deductions such as mess and hostel fees are applied. Both IAS and IPS officers start with the same salary. The maximum salary for an IAS officer can reach up to Rs 2,50,000 per month, whereas for IPS officers, it can go up to Rs 2,25,000. The highest salary is determined by their seniority and rank. HSSC CET 2025 application window closes soon; registration link here
The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) will soon close the registrations for the Common Eligibility Test under Advt. No. 01/2025. Candidates can submit their forms on the official website till June 12, 2025. The last date to pay the fee is June 14, 2025. The exam schedule will be released separately. The question paper shall be of the level of Senior Secondary Education (Class 12th) except for the subjects of Hindi and English, for which the level shall be of Matriculation. The exam will be held for 1 hour and 30 minutes, and will consist of 100 questions of 100 marks. The CET marks obtained by the applicants shall be valid for a period of three years from the date of declaration of the results. Eligibility Criteria Age Limit: 18 to 42 years as on June 12, 2025.
