A short film about a baby elephant is premiering this week in Salt Lake.
Why it matters: The film is a fundraiser for Wildlife SOS, a conservation group working to protect India's elephants.
What's inside:"Tours for Tusks" chronicles the recovery of Bani, a 9-month-old Asian elephant found gashed up and paralyzed after she was hit by a train that collided with her herd last year.
The event also features a talk and Q&A with Wildlife SOS co-founder Kartick Satyanarayan.
Guests get popcorn and a drink. Monthly donors also get a beanie to match one that was custom-made for Bani.

Untamed Spirits debuts along Hyperion Avenue in the former second-story Trophy Wife space on June 7, coinciding with Pride month. Utah Asian Festival, showcasing the state's diverse Asian community, set for Saturday
The annual Utah Asian Festival returns to Salt Lake City, showcasing the diverse community and underscoring the travails of many of its members in reaching the state. Organizers dub the event the longest-running Asian festival in the United States, with more than 60 scheduled performances by traditional and contemporary groups, more than 30 food vendors and 70-plus community and artisan booths. The event Saturday at the Utah State Fairpark, 155 N. 1000 West in Salt Lake City, goes from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Though entry is free, parking at the fairgrounds costs $15. 'The growth of the festival exploded recently thanks to an influx of younger volunteer organizers. They share the founders' unwavering commitment to uplifting our many cultures, but have brought with them novel ideas propelling the festival to new heights as a grand celebration for the entire state,' said Margaret Yee, a founder of the original event. The event aims to promote unity within the diverse Asian community in Utah and cross-cultural understanding. Manuel Camu, co-chairman of the festival, referenced hostility some in the Asian community have faced of late. 'When I learned that the festival originated as an attempt to unify the various Asian ethnic groups, I felt it was my duty to continue the mission, especially in the midst of resurgent anti-Asian violence and discrimination,' he said in a statement. Gechlang Ear, the festival co-chairwoman, noted the roots of many in the community as refugees and asylum-seekers. More than 120,000 Asians in all live in Utah, event organizers estimate. 'This celebration is important to us because we believe in the Utah that isn't celebrated enough — the Utah that is home to over 60,000 asylum-seekers and thousands more, like myself, who have come from far-away lands but take pride in calling this place our refuge,' she said. The festival is an initiative of the Asian Association of Utah, which serves Asian immigrants and refugees.

Black, during a Thursday night segment on 'The Daily Show,' railed against AI's rapid rise on campuses across the U.S. 'Come on, professors, if you replace your teaching assistant with AI, then who are you going to leave your wife for?' he joked. 'And if you're not using your brain as a professor, what is your job? You're basically a scarf model with a drinking problem.' Black added that it is 'extra insulting' that Harvard professors are now using AI more and more: 'You're the top school in the country. Why did your students even bother paying an Asian kid to take their SATs?' The 76-year-old comedian also said college is all about 'experimenting,' like seeing how much LSD you can do without forgetting your name. Black himself seemed to enjoy college quite a bit — he earned degrees from the University of North Carolina and Yale University back in the day. Nowadays, he is concerned college freshman, such as the president's son, Barron, who just started at New York University this year, will be turning to AI to answer questions they should figure out on their own. 'What are we going to do if a student like Barron Trump isn't using his full cognitive ability?' Black asked. 'The only thing AI should be telling that Sasquatch in a suit is 'Be shorter, you freak.
