Korea's Haeran Ryu and Mao Saigo of Japan will head into Sunday's final round of the Chevron Championship in a share of the lead as they both seek a first major title.Ryu moved into contention at The Club at Carlton Woods thanks to four consecutive birdies from the sixth hole in her third round, finishing with a 68 to move to nine under."I was just trying for the good spots, for the easy putts, and I wanted to try to make some birdies. That was good for me," said the 24-year-old, who led by a shot going into last year's final round but shot a 74 to finish fifth."Last year the final round for me was not good. But I learned to be more calm and more comfortable and more slow. This year I wish to be more enjoying the course."Saigo shot a 69, parring her way home after a birdie at the 13th to match Ryu's total."The course condition was pretty hard. It was pretty difficult to make birdies so I kind of struggled," she said. "Two of them were chip-in birdies from outside, so I was pretty lucky."American Lindy Duncan stood one shot back on eight under, with her compatriot Sarah Schmelzel and China's Yan Liu, the halfway leader, a further stroke back.Yan shared the lead at nine under until a double bogey at the par-three 17th, where she found a bunker and then chipped into the rough.Defending champion Nelly Korda sits nine shots back on level par after a round of 71 that included back-to-back double bogeys at the third and fourth holes.

None could come up with the cash Gers were looking for and he stayed on to finish the campaign in Glasgow only one shy of the 30 mark. Selling Dessers would free up some fresh funds for new boss Russell Martin to spend. Andrew Cavenagh and his partners from the San Francisco 49ers have vowed to inject £20m of fresh funds into the Ibrox coffers, with CEO Patrick Stewart promising the new gaffer a 'decent amount' would be ring fenced for recruitment purposes. But Martin has been told he will have to move players on if he wants to raise additional funds for what is likely to be a considerable rebuild this summer. Record Sport broke the news last week that Leicester City defender Conor Coady could be the first new face in bolster Gers' backline. Ib Rox chiefs have already made contact with the Foxes as they look to kick off the Martin revolution with the experienced ex-England's capture. We also revealed how Rangers are in the hunt for £4 million-rated Israeli striker Dor Turgeman, who could be the man to replace Dessers. Talks with his club Maccabi Tel Aviv are on going as Rangers look to land the 21-year-old hit-man. Nottingham Forest have spoken to UEFA to express their concern over Crystal Palace's potential involvement in the Europa League as the FA Cup winners attempt to prove their breached no rules Nottingham Forest have written to UEFA to express concern over Crystal Palace potentially participating in the Europa League given the multi-club ownership rules that are in place. John Textor, the American businessman who has a 43 per cent stake in the Premier League side, also owns Lyon, who have qualified for Europe's secondary competition. The Eagles hierarchy have met with UEFA officials to try explain Textor's situation. Forest however can stand to gain if UEFA do choose to kick Palace out of the Europa League. The Nottingham outfit enjoyed a stellar year, challenging for the Champions League, but eventually having to settle for the Europa Conference League after finishing seventh. However they could be bumped up if Palace fall foul of UEFA's rules and the Times reports that they have been in contact with European football's governing body regarding the matter. Much may yet depend on whether Lyon themselves are allowed to play in the Europa League. UEFA's Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) disqualified Lyon from European competitions in December but allowed them to continue after the club met certain demands. However the French side are being 'carefully monitored' by the CFCB and could be disqualified from next season's Europa League for any breaches. It is understood that Palace case could end up at the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Forest could also take the matter to the courts if the Eagles are still deemed eligible. UEFA have previously been rigid in their application of their rules which could count against the FA Cup winners. Eagles shareholders Textor and David Blitzer want to put their shares in a blind trust to ensure the club can compete in Europe next season - but UEFA claim their request has come too late. UEFA rules state that such ownership changes must take place before 1 March to take effect in time for the following season. Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has transferred his shares given his Greek club Olympiacos have qualified for next season's Champions League. Blitzer is also an owner of Danish club Brondby who qualified for the Conference League. It means there could be issues should Palace want to drop down into that tournament instead. Manchester City and Manchester United both used blind trusts to remain compliant with UEFA's multi-club rules last season. Match of the Day pundit pinpoints CBS contrast – 'It'd never happen at the BBC'
Former England defender and Match of the Day star Micah Richards has shed light on a key cultural difference between the BBC and American network CBS, which he covers the Champions League for Match of the Day's Micah Richards has opened up about a 'mad' party thrown in his honour by network CBS the night before the Champions League final. The ex-England star admitted that the BBC would never plan such an event. Richards, who retired in 2019 and immediately transitioned into punditry, provides insight across various platforms. He has starred on Match of the Day and brought laughter to Sky Sports ' coverage of the Premier League. CBS began broadcasting European football five years ago, introducing him to an American audience. While working for stateside employers, Richards has made it clear that culturally, things differ from appearing for the BBC, which operates under a Royal Charter and is, therefore, a public corporation funded primarily by TV license fees. Operating for the public good means the historically revered Beeb holds itself to incredibly high standards, and coverage of the FA Cup and World Cup, for example, is no exception. The 36-year-old has now illuminated a huge difference between the British broadcaster and the US-based CBS, epitomised by a party thrown the night before last month's Champions League final. "We got there, the sun is shining. I was drinking until about four o'clock in the morning on the Thursday night. Friday night, CBS only threw me my own party!" a bewildered Richards told Gary Lineker and Match of the Day colleague Alan Shearer on The Rest Is Football podcast. "Bearing in mind we've got the Champions League final on the Saturday night and I've been hanging for weeks before that as well. Imagine us at the Beeb throwing a party the night before, say, the FA Cup final or the World Cup final. "It would never, ever happen. CBS just embrace it. I got there thinking it's just a CBS party. I get there, the big massive flyer says: 'Big Meeks' Party.' It was madness." While cultural differences would likely prevent the BBC from allowing its staff to indulge in such revelries and borderline unprofessionalism, CBS' Champions League final broadcast went off without a hitch. Richards appeared alongside presenter Kate Scott and fellow ex-pros Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher. Actor Tom Cruise and David Beckham were also part of the build-up to the kick-off in Munich. Yet, Richards' path to the German capital was not without its tribulations, and he detailed that a fear of flying made for an awkward journey. "For those who don't know, I don't like flying. So, me, the absolute idiot, decides to look at a route from Harrogate all the way to Munich," he continued. "I thought, 'Ok, if I get to London, it's not gonna be too bad.' So I get to London, which is three hours door to door. "Then I went to get the train from London, and it was supposed to go to Brussels. It got cancelled, so now I'm sweating, thinking what I could possibly do! I'm scrambling on my apps. "I went from London to Paris, then I had to wait a couple of hours. Paris to Stuttgart. Had to wait a couple hours, then Stuttgart to Munich, and when I got there, I was absolutely exhausted."
