ALDI is selling an essential gadget that will help you zap pesky flies and bugs in your garden this summer.
The £7.49 Adventuridge Bug Zapper can kill insects in an instant, making it perfect when enjoying a drink in the garden or a BBQ.

Shoppers have raced to Aldi to get their hands on the bug zapper

Its UV light lures in bugs before killing them instantly.
The lantern comes in two colours - blue or black - so it will match any garden furniture you already have.
Plus its built-in carabiner means you can attach it to a garden shed or gazebo.
It has four light settings, which can help to create the perfect ambiance while also helping to get rid of pesky insects.

Shoppers have taken to social media to rave about the gadget.
One person wrote: 'It worked for us when camping and outside in the back yard.

The Cosy Club at Ipswich's Buttermarket Shopping Centre announced it made the "very difficult decision" to close its doors on May 31. Managing Director Lucy Knowles revealed it was no longer "financially viable" for the popular restaurant to stay open. "We're very disappointed that, after nine years trading, we have taken the very difficult decision to close Cosy Club Ipswich," Lucy said. She added: "This is only the second Cosy Club we've ever closed but, unfortunately, it wasn't financially viable for us to continue trading there. "We would like to thank all of our team for their spirit, professionalism, and hard work and all our fabulous customers for their support over the years." Despite the closure, food lovers in Ipswich can still dine at Loungers - which operates Cosy Club - after confirming that Marinero Lounger is still set to open. The new bar and restaurant will open on July 2 at the Waterfront, in the former Burton and Sons warehouse.

Data from Motors shared this week showed that used examples of the evergreen Vauxhall Corsa were the quickest out of the door of dealerships across the country in May. The much-loved hatchback, which, on average costs between £11,000 and £14,000 second-hand, was followed, perhaps surprisingly, by the Ford Explorer in second place. Nearly-new examples of the pure-electric family SUV sold after 11.6 days on average - which the experts at Motors believing the Explorer's popularity was down to its 'keen pricing'. Overall, dealers were forced to trim their prices to get stock off of their forecourts. Commenting on the data for May, Motors marketing director Lucy Tugby told Car Dealer Mag: 'Other nearly new cars in our Top 10 include the Seat Ateca, Peugeot 2008 and Peugeot 208, suggesting competitive pricing as dealers moved to clear their stocks to avoid competing with promotions on new cars. 'The fast sales were achieved despite our May Market View analysis tracking a monthly increase in days to sell from 29.3 to 30.3.' OUT WITH THE OLD We're almost at the halfway point of 2025 in what's been a whirlwind six months or so in the motoring world. But a simple 10p kitchen hack can get rid of the pesky critters overnight and get your lawn looking lush again. They're legless grubs with tough, leathery skin and can grow up to 3cm in length. And experts say that infestations are rife this year. Although harmless to humans and pets, these pests can quickly turn your green grass into sparse, brown patches. This is because they damage the roots of your grass, causing it to die on the surface. New build homes and gardens are being hit hard in particular due to the leatherjackets' love of new turf. But the Gardening on a Budget Official Facebook group has provided a genius and budget-friendly solution. Commenting on a user's worse for wear garden, expert Suzanne recommended throwing slices of bread on the lawn. She said: "Throw several whole slices of bread on the lawn. "Then the starlings will come down and feast on the leatherjackets (works for me!)." 5 lawn mowing tips to get good grass this summer All effective pesticides to treat such pests have been banned in the UK since 2016. But there are other methods to tackle the leatherjackets and restore your lawn, according to Matthew Martin from nematode producer Nemasys. Martin told the Express: "To encourage them off the lawn, you can saturate the grass with black sacks or tarpaulin overnight. "In the morning, the grubs will have risen to the surface and will be easy to see." Once at the surface, you can discard of the pests yourself or leave them to the birds. Martin also recommended using nematodes, naturally occurring, microscopic worms that can target and kill the leatherjackets. According to Martin, they arrive as "dried granules" which can be mixed with water, such as in a watering can, before being applied to your lawn. He recommends applying them first thing in the morning or at night to "avoid weakening the nematodes with harsh direct sunlight". Ben Agnew, a grass expert at Lawnsmith, advises that "prevention is easier than the cure" but that nematodes are a good way of combating the grubs. He said: "Nematodes get rid of leatherjackets by infiltrating their outer casing and subsequently killing them. "Leatherjackets can cause considerable damage, and even after treatment, it can be challenging to restore your lawn to its former state. "It can take your garden some time to return to its former glory." But he says the best course of action is to remove the dead patches of grass from your lawn and re-seed the area. Applying fertiliser across your lawn can help maintain its overall health. Lawns with poor drainage are more likely to suffer from a leatherjacket infestation, so addressing this problem is also key.
