England comfortably beat New Zealand by five wickets in their final warm-up game ahead of the Women's T20 World Cup.After losing the toss in Dubai, they restricted New Zealand to 127-4 from their 20 overs.Seamer Lauren Bell and spinners Linsey Smith, Sarah Glenn and Charlie Dean all took one wicket apiece. England raced to 70-3 in the eighth over before Danni Wyatt-Hodge was caught on the mid-wicket boundary for 35 off 19 balls. Captain Heather Knight made seven and when Nat Sciver-Brunt (31) was dismissed England needed 31 to win.But, Dani Gibson hit an unbeaten 22 off 15 balls to see England home with 18 balls to spare. Left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone played no part in the game as the world number one-ranked bowler was rested as part of a workload management plan. England lost their opening warm-up game against Australia by 33 runs on Sunday. Their opening game is against Bangladesh in Sharjah on Saturday (15:00 BST), before matches against South Africa, Scotland and West Indies.The tournament begins on Thursday when Bangladesh host Scotland (11:00).It was due to take place in Bangladesh but was moved to the United Arab Emirates in August after civil unrest.

Luke Littler sent fierce warning over controversial comments by German opponents ahead of World Cup of Darts
LUKE LITTLER and Luke Humhpries have been sent a fierce warning ahead of their World Cup of Darts clash against Germany. The England pair face Ricardo Pietreczko and Martin Schindler in the round of 16 in Frankfurt tonight. 3 3 Littler had previously gotten into a spat with Pietreczko and controversially slated Germany because of crowd problems. He posted on Instagram: "Shouldn't have been in Munich but had to play anyway. "Next one in Germany for me is Dortmund and I am glad to say that." Pietreczko - nicknamed 'Pikachu' - said: "I think it was a very funny game against both Lukes, because Luke Littler says never come back to Germany.' Schindler added: "I think the fans are going to play a major role in that. 'If we are going to play against bigger nations, England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland or Netherlands or whoever, there are so many good names in it right now. "I think this probably is the best World Cup to be in and we are very happy about the support we are getting from the fans.' Littler clashed with 'Pikachu' in March when the German confronted him after being beaten. Luke Littler reveals he's signed up to HUGE reality show alongside YouTuber mate Pietreczko explained: "Well, I really appreciated him being able to play a game like that at such an age, but I hope his arrogance punishes him." Littler claimed he had no idea what he had done wrong but acknowledged "everyone wants to beat him". Away from the oche, the top two players in the world, Humphries and Littler, were both awarded an MBE on Friday as part of the King's Birthday Honours list for their contributions to sports. The award is a glaring example of how darts' growing appeal paralleled the pair's rise to the top. Humphries said: "I'm extremely honoured and delighted to be receiving an MBE in the King's Birthday Honours for services to darts. "To be recognised by the King for what I have achieved, and also for my contribution to playing in and promoting the sport that I love, is something that I never thought possible, but I'm very grateful that it has become a reality.'

Women's Super League: Saints beat Barrow to go top
St Helens moved to the top of Women's Super League by dominating Barrow to edge above previous leaders Wigan Warriors on won 40-6 at sixth-placed Barrow for their third victory in the opening four games of the leading by just two points at half-time, St Helens scored six times in the second half without on Saturday, York Valkyrie beat Leigh Leopards 26-0 to move level on points with their fourth-placed opponents and third-placed Huddersfield can regain top spot if they win at Huddersfield on Sunday. York Valkyrie ease past Leigh without reply After a tense and nervy start between Leigh and York it was the away side that managed to get the first points on the board, 30 minutes into the first made the most of a scrum 35 metres from the goal-line and worked the ball out to the right where Izzy Bibby was able to take the ball across the line for a than ten minutes later, they added their second try as Eboni Partington made it over the line after Leigh were penalised for a high tackle just five metres got off to the perfect start in the second half as Sinead Peach powered through defenders and over the line, Williamson adding the conversion after missing her prior two Andrade utilised some smart footwork to touch down for four more points and Valkyrie added another try on the hour mark through Agnes Wood, with Williamson converting both.
